Planned and built by William Kelly Smith in 1915, the castle is magnificent, with six-story towers, Roman columns and Morrissian arches, and stately columns and luxurious wine cellars. The castle even has Malaysia's first elevator. However, the castle was not built. After World War I, William ordered an Indian temple near the castle and tunneled through two buildings. However, before the building was completed, William died and the project was put on hold. Since then, the castle has become a haunted house, spreading various strange legends, until recently, the local government has opened it to bold tourists to explore. There are many secret rooms and secret tunnels in the castle, and the road to the castle follows the terrain to show a maze of access, making the place more mysterious and romantic. Locals say ghost stories about Kerry Castle are constantly rumored, but the unique architectural appearance even Malaysians like to visit and take pictures during the day.
