WE LOVE USING THE NORTH ENTRANCE – 2.6 miles east of Laurel Canyon Blvd. on Mulholland DriveWe think this walk has the best views of the Hollywood Hills and the City of Los Angeles, and all the way out to Catalina Island on a clear day. The parking and entrance for this walk are actually the north entrance of Runyon Canyon Park, a large park and series of hiking trails that starts way below off Franklin Avenue. Follow the trail/route that you will find most other people going in to see amazing views of the Hollywood Sign, a lot of Hollywood Hills homes, the Griffith Park Observatory, and the skyline of Hollywood and Los Angeles to the ocean. Dogs are allowed off-leash throughout all of Runyon Canyon Park (a ways into the walk from this entrance, watch for signs and other off-leash dogs). Closes at dusk.
