We were in the area, so we drove over to the Paella House for an early dinner. The food is much better than the strip mall location will indicate. Very good paella. We had some tapas during the wait for the freshly cooked paella. All in we spent $65 and came out with enough left overs for a second dinner. I'd go back again.
We re-visited the Paella House for Dinner after a gap of 3 years or so. It was not very busy but the food and service remain very good. We were warmly welcomed by the Server and given a table. We just chose water followed by unsweetened tea and Diet Coke. We chose 3 small plates and the had the Mixed Paella. Our starters included delicious empanadas and we also had the tripe. All the small dishes were very tasty and well cooked. Our Paella was a treat. There were large prawns and shrimp, shellfish, pork and chicken with nicely cooked saffron rice. In addition the Paella contained quite a few vegetables. We were assisted with our first serving and then had another full portion each remaining; it was so good we finished it and did not need to box some to take home. There were only a few other customers in whilst we were there but we recall that it was normally at its busiest for lunch which may well still be the case. There's a good range of drinks and the food is certainly authentic. It's quiet and relaxed rather than being a bustling and noisy place. We plan to return; it's neither cheap nor particularly expensive. Our check came to around $70 with the tip. One small criticism; the bread rolls we were given were a bit past their best although still soft inside. They used to import dough from Spain; I'm not sure if they still do.
This is a family owned and operated restaurant. We had a lunch of Paella Valenciana (with chicken, beef, and sausage) and it was very good. The environment was not impressive but the cooking and helping size made up for that.
