Songkran Party 2024
#songkran2024
Songkran, the Thai New Year, is a vibrant festival celebrated around the middle of April each year. During this time, Bangkok transforms into a city alive with water fights, colorful parades, and a festive atmosphere.
The area around Mahanakhon, a district known for its skyscrapers and vibrant nightlife, is a popular spot to celebrate Songkran. Here's what you can expect:
* **Water Fights:** The most prominent feature of Songkran is the water fights. People arm themselves with water guns and buckets, playfully soaking each other in the spirit of washing away bad luck and ushering in a fresh start. The streets around Mahanakhon become a giant water battlefield, so be prepared to get wet!
* **Cultural Performances:** Throughout the day, cultural performances showcasing Thai dance, music, and traditions take place around the city. You might find these around temples, cultural centers, or even on makeshift stages along the streets.
* **Songkran Procession:** Keep an eye out for the Songkran procession, a vibrant parade featuring floats adorned with flowers, dancers in traditional costumes, and maybe even elephants. The exact route and timings can vary each year, so it's best to ask around for details closer to the date.
* **Nightlife:** As night falls, the party moves indoors to Bangkok's renowned nightlife scene. Many bars and clubs around Mahanakhon host special Songkran events with live music, DJs, and themed decorations.
Here are some additional tips for enjoying Songkran around Mahanakhon:
* **Dress for the occasion:** Light, comfortable clothing that dries quickly is ideal. You might also want to consider wearing sandals or flip-flops as the streets will be wet.
* **Bring a waterproof bag:** Protect your belongings from getting soaked by bringing a waterproof bag for your phone, wallet, and other essentials.
* **Respect the traditions:** While getting soaked is part of the fun, it's important to be respectful of those who might not want to participate. Avoid soaking people who are dressed formally, elderly, or carrying valuables.
* **Have fun!** Songkran is a time to let loose, celebrate, and embrace the Thai culture. So put on a smile, grab a water gun, and get ready for an unforgettable experience!
This is the coolest building I have ever seen. The pixelated design and immensity of the tower is just jaw-dropping. There’s a rooftop deck with a clear glass bottomed sky walk that you can buy tickets for in the lobby (about 1,000 baht per person or about $30 USD). The views of Bangkok from the top of the tower are spectacular and the sky walk was really cool (although a bit terrifying). Gotta give props to those people popping around on that thing with no fear lol.
The tallest building in Bangkok, 314 meters, can overlook the whole Bangkok, the ticket is a bit expensive, there are more people, the night scene is selected, the sunset is not so shocking, it may be related to the thicker clouds on the day, you must come early, and the queue is longer late.
It is worthy of being the highest landmark in Bangkok, overlooking the entire Bangkok on the roof. There are really many rich people in Bangkok. There is a tarmac on the roof not far away. It is estimated that the traffic in Thailand is too blocked. The air traffic is faster.
Go later, the sunset and night view are good, a bit expensive
The scenery is very good, the tickets are slightly more expensive
Very recommended, very beautiful, very well arranged
