The Baptistery of St. John

The Baptist Church is located on the west side of the cathedral, in a white octagonal classical Romanesque building, and the famous "gate of heaven" is here. The bell tower next to it is 88 meters high, 13.7 meters square, divided into 4 floors of different architectural styles, forming a beautiful landscape

The octagonal St. John's Baptist Church is a Class B Pontifical Temple in Florence's Cathedral Square. It is the Baptist Church of the Virgin Mary, located in the right west of the Temple, opposite the West Gate of the latter, and is one of the oldest existing buildings in Florence.
