Congtai Park

Wuling Congtai, located in the center of Congtai Park on the west side of Zhonghua Street in Congtai District, Handan City, Hebei Province, is the main building in the park. It is an important group of buildings in the ancient city of Handan in Zhao State, and also the symbol of the ancient city of Handan. According to the unearthed cultural relics, it was built during the Warring States Period of Zhao Wuling King (325 BC - 299 BC), and was the place where the king of Zhao reviewed the army and watched the song and dance. It has a history of more than 2,000 years. After Zhao Wuling King ascended the throne, he implemented the Hu clothing and horse riding, which made Zhao State ranked among the 'Seven Heroes' of the Warring States. The place where he practiced at that time was in Wuling Congtai. Wuling Congtai is named after its many towers and not a single gathering. Over the past two thousand years, Wuling Congtai has attracted politicians, literati and poets from all dynasties to climb the tower and reminisce about the past, write poems and express their aspirations. The towering Congtai stands in the ancient city of Handan, originally with many connected gatherings, hence the name Congtai. It is said to have been built during the time of King Wuling of Zhao, also known as Wuling Congtai. The king of Zhao built the platform for military reviews and for pleasure in music and dance. There were verses about the beauty of the music on the platform and the shining warriors below. The ancient platform originally had a sky bridge, snow cave, flower garden, and decorated pavilions, with a strict structure and wonderful decorations that were famous among the countries. Recently, the Handan Congtai Hanfu has become popular, and many beautiful young ladies are taking pictures in Hanfu. It's quite cold recently, so it's recommended for young ladies who want to take pictures in Hanfu to dress warmer. It's really photogenic, and you can go back to the Warring States period in a second. There are Hanfu travel photography at the park entrance. The Seven Sages Temple: Built in honor of the seven sages of the State of Zhao during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, namely Han Jue, Cheng Ying, Gongsun Chujiu, Lian Po, Lin Xiangru, Zhao She, and Li Mu, hence the name Seven Sages Temple. The temple is a brick-wood structure with a rolling shed and resting hill style. It is five bays wide and one bay deep. The courtyard is paved with blue brick paths, and there is a side door to the west that leads to the stele forest. The roof is covered with yellow glazed tiles in the resting hill style, and there are four red round columns under the corridor, with the front face being wooden carved arch windows. On the east and west sides of the wall are the well-known deeds of the seven sages, such as Zhao She's 'impartial law enforcement', Lian Po and Lin Xiangru's 'returning the jade to Zhao', 'asking for punishment with a thorn bush', 'harmony between generals', and the three loyal acts of Han Jue, Cheng Ying, and Gongsun Chujiu sacrificing themselves to save 'the orphan of Zhao'. The stele forest corridor to the west of the Seven Sages Temple is called 'Handan Stele Forest'. Inside the corridor, there are dozens of steles inscribed by calligraphers from various dynasties, with high artistic value. China's largest Tang dynasty epitaph, 'The Epitaph of He Hongjing', is also stored here. The epitaph is engraved with the four gods Qinglong, Baihu, Zhuque, and Xuanwu on the front, accompanied by auspicious cloud patterns, creating an imposing atmosphere.
