No Lava Flow
Although there was no Lava flow, the lava is quite menacing and incredible. The lava fields are beyond compare and you really feel you are on another planet. A must see.
Made a short trip to see the Lava with a friend. Spectacular, make sure to take a camera. Recommend going at dusk so you can observe in day light and after dark.
It is always impressive to visiting Pele. It's like looking into Mother Earth's belly. I usually visit the Big Island every other year and the volcanoes are always on my itinerary.
Absolutely amazing- suggest the bike/hike option for surface flow viewing is there are active surface flows

No lava on island for last 8 months
Sadly, the lava has stopped flowing after last years earth quake and large flow. No hot glow at night anywhere on the island
