Mt Wellington Descent Bike Ride

Traveling to Australia, this stop is to Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, to Wellington Hills. I was sitting on a tourist bus up the mountain. I saw cycling enthusiasts working hard to ride up the mountain. I heard from the tour guide that there are two ways to go to the mountain. One is to drive, the other is to ride a bicycle. When the weather is good, many locals will choose to ride. Or driving up the mountain, riding down the mountain, etc., is also a pleasure.

Wellington Mountain (Mt Wellington) is located 20 kilometers west of Hobart city, at an altitude of 1,270 meters, and is the highest peak in Hobart. Because of the high terrain, it is far from light pollution and is one of the best places to view the Antarctic light. That is why the top of Wellington Hill is also the first choice for visitors to watch the sunrise and sunset. We were originally to see the aurora at the top of the mountain, but the aurora really needed to take a chance, we went to Wellington Hill twice, but also no aurora, but fortunately finally harvested a gorgeous sunset. Because the sunset in Tazhou is very early in winter, we drove up to the top of the mountain at about 4 o'clock, but it was already crowded with people who came to watch the sunset and the Antarctic light, and parking spaces were more difficult to find. The snow buried the calf on the top of the mountain, and the temperature was several degrees lower than at the foot of the mountain, and everyone shivered in the cold wind. Even so, it could not resist the shock of overlooking the entire small town of Hobart at the top of the mountain. The sun began to fall at about 5 o'clock after 6 o'clock, and the golden glow spilled on the body, bringing a little warmth to the winter cold. It takes about 20 minutes to drive from the city, but the road up the mountain is winding and very narrow. I remember that the first time we drove up was after 9 pm. The whole road up the mountain was dark, and occasionally a small animal was pulled out of the woods.
