It is a stone monument of Shinpachi Murata's birthplace, who was active as the battalion commander of the Satsuma army during the Seinan War. It is located at the corner of the intersection at the entrance of the Ishin Furusatokan on Miyuki-dori, Kajiya-cho. The site of Kagoshima Chuo High School is the birthplace. Shinpachi Murata was born in 1836 as the third child of Yoshinaka Takahashi, but became the successor of the Murata family in his childhood. In 1862, when Takamori Saigo was exiled to Tokunoshima against the life of Hisamitsu Shimazu, he was both exiled to Kikaijima for sin. Iwakura ... in 1868

Shinpachi Murata is a feudal retainer of the Satsuma domain. He was with Takamori Saigo for the rest of his life, and in the Satsuma War, he committed suicide after seeing Saigo's self-determination. It is said that Shinpachi Murata was born in Kajiya Town, Kagoshima City in １８３６. He loved Takamori Saigo like his brother and played an active role in the Sonno Joi Movement together. I became a member of the Iwakura Foreign Mission. After returning to Japan, when he learned that Saigo Takamori had gone down, he resigned and returned to Kagoshima. He acted with Saigo and died in the Satsuma War.
