There is a small car park just past the Earl's Palace in Birsay. Its well worth stopping and having a look around the ruins and read the info boards. Lots of history here to enjoy.

Well worth the journey
Up in the north of the Orkney Mainland, a well preserved Historic Scotland monument with plenty to see and plenty of information.
Well worth a visit
Just as interesting as the Earl's Palace, Kirkwall, although more of a ruin. However, this has the added attraction of really stunning views.
