Daxiao Dongtian Scenic Area is a popular landmark which you should visit if you are in Sanya. This place is not located in down town, however It can be reached easily by taxi or public transport. The whole visit, including walking around and taking pictures should last between 2 to 3 hours. This park is famous for its amazing scenery that combine beaches, gardens and lots of palm trees along the way. There are some spots for great photography. Sunscreen is always a must if you don’t want to ruin your holidays due to sun burnt. You can avoid noon time as the heat is on the pick. Early morning or afternoon is a pleasant time. It is truly deserving of its national 5A rating, as its beauty is truly breathtaking. This is my first visit to the Xiaodongtian and Dadongtian scenic area, and I have fallen in love with it. Whether it's the natural scenery or the climate temperature, it's all enchanting. I paid homage to the Dragon King and his sons at the Dragon King's Courtyard. In the Jianzhen Square stands a stone statue of Monk Jianzhen. Xiaodongtian is a natural landscape, while Dadongtian exists in everyone's heart. Here, everyone involuntarily gets close to the sea, plays with the waves, and enjoys the sea breeze, just as President Jiang Zemin wrote, 'The azure sea stretches to the sky, and the Qiongya is always in spring.' The unique charming scenery of the southern country is fully displayed here, truly making it a paradise on earth. When you come to Hainan Island, you must visit Xiaodongtian and Dadongtian!

The first time I went to Sanya Daxiaodongtian, I had to buy a ticket, but later it was opened to the public for free, so every time I go to Sanya, I always visit Daxiaodongtian to stroll around, look at the sea, and climb the mountains. 🪨 Daxiaodongtian Tourist Area: 🎫 Admission is free, but the sightseeing car costs 30 yuan (not recommended, as walking along the seaside is not tiring). 🚗 If driving, you can park your car at the parking lot at the entrance of the scenic area. 🚌 Take bus No. 25 or 30 and get off at Daxiaodongtian Station. There are many popular wedding photography spots at the entrance of the scenic area, such as the Gate of Heaven in Bali, Santorini, the Glass Church, the White Church, the Double Palm Gate, and the Infinity Pool. 🌴 Strolling along the coconut grove, you can also see the Jianzhen Group Sculpture, the seaside lighthouse, and the black reefs and beaches. At the end, you reach the Xiaodongtian stone carvings, which are said to be the grottoes of Taoist immortals, and the place where Mao Kui, the prefect of the Southern Song Dynasty, discovered and developed Daxiaodongtian, featuring many reefs of various sizes. You can start climbing the mountain right across from Xiaodongtian! You can take different paths for ascending and descending the mountain, 🗿 The mountain's attractions include the Sword Testing Peak, which is formed by a crack in a huge rock; ⛰️ The Golden Summit, which is the highest point of Daxiaodongtian, offering a panoramic view of the entire scenic area and the South China Sea; 🌲 The Evergreen Pine of Nanshan, a species of dragon tree known as a living fossil among plants, symbolizing longevity, with each tree's age marked underneath.

Further ahead, you can see a lighthouse standing on the boundless sea, and further ahead, you can see Xiaodongtian. This place is very crowded, and everyone will choose to take photos here 6️⃣ As for Dadongtian, we can't see it because it is a state of mind, a kind of aspiration for Taoists. It is a place where immortals live. The Shou character 4 stele, Nanshan Evergreen Pine, and 99 Return to One are very close and can be visited together 7️⃣ Further ahead is the Laozi Looking at the Sea Stone Carving, and further ahead is Xiaoyue Bay. Although the sand here is not very fine and the sea water is not very clear, half of it is a beach and half is rugged rocks, which makes it unique. Similarly, it's also the most crowded. Here's a little trick: if you don't want to pay for a photo, you can find a good angle and still capture both the people and the Sky Gate in one photo. The scenic tour bus will take you from the starting point to the end point without stopping or letting passengers off along the way. If you travel back from the end point, you can get off at designated stops. In addition to tourists, many people come here to take wedding photos.
