Born in Wakayama Prefecture, there is a display board because it is the site of a house where Takeo Hatanaka, a pioneer of radio astronomy in Japan, grew up. He is a graduate of Shingu High School and is related to the local area. There is no actual house anymore and there is another house, and it's a little disappointing that the display board is on the side of the street. There is also a crater called "Hatanaka" on the moon.
