Maoergai is located in the west of Songpan County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is a farming and pastoral area. The Red Army Long March arrived in Maorgai and held a meeting to focus on the development direction of the main Red Army force, which played a positive role in overcoming the danger of Zhang Guoqian separatism.
Maorgai Hydropower Station is located in the middle reaches of the Heishui River in Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, from Hongyan Township to Rushiba River, and is the third step-level power station in the development plan of the "two reservoirs and five levels" of the dry flow hydropower plan of Heishuiyu. From Wenchuan to Heishui through the hydropower dam, the Heishui River after the water storage is particularly quiet and beautiful.
