Very boring and old fashioned
Skip this and go to the Volcanic Park instead. A boring exhibit that is dusty and very aged. No information in english at all and over priced for what is on offer.
I visited the adjacent auto campsite with my dog and family. The campsite had clean baths and toilets. It was cold but fun because the altitude was high. The stars also looked beautiful. The Volcano Walk of the museum also enjoyed walking on the ups and downs between lava for about an hour. The view was good and it was very fun. I want to go again.
I visited during the autumn leaves season. There is a charge, but you can see the autumn leaves spreading below from the observatory on the promenade attached. it's recommended.
It is recommended to take a walk on the nature promenade. From the observatory, you can overlook the surrounding area such as Mt. Asama, Mt. Haruna and Mt. Shirane. There are several courses on the nature promenade, the longest one is 80 minutes. Even though it is a natural promenade, the road is paved, so you can walk with ordinary shoes. There is a charge for admission to the promenade. As of 2019, it is 100 yen.
It's amazing to get money from that exhibition. It seems that chairs and other outdoor manufacturers support it, so it seems better to provide samples and gather people. What is the emergency restaurant on the property? I haven't eaten, but I have the image that I'm likely to be forced to eat alpha rice for a high price. I had alpha rice next to the restaurant.
