There's not much to see here but Carl Robert Jakobson was a huge figure in Estonian history, so look him up when you're visiting Viljandi and you will then understand the relevance of his monument.

The monument for the man who set up the political newspaper Sakala (year 1878)

Lovely area around the monument. It is marked on the Viljandi tourist map and it is at the end of Garden of Arcadia.

A great person in the Estonian history

It's an unassuming statue of an important person in the Estonian history. I walked by it for 8 years without noticing it. A pity.
