Located in a World Natural Heritage Reserve, it’s definitely worth a visit whether it’s a self-driving tour or a chartered day trip. Whether it’s a distant view of the virgin forest, viewing the wonders of flowing ice, a natural lake, or a chance to photograph wildlife such as bear deer! It is recommended to start in the morning. There are many observation decks along the way, which are great for taking selfies and taking pictures.
🔹Sushi Yamashita (Omakase Experience)
— Personally recommended! This shop is different from the usual "celebrity omakase", the master is extremely careful to discover the unique local aquatic products. Sushi was made with seafood caught in Hong Kong. Each dish is delicate and thoughtful, some of which are even treasures that cannot be eaten in other parts of Hokkaido! There are only 6 seats inside, quietly enjoy a wonderful dinner that only you know.
[Practical Tips]
- It is extremely difficult to make reservations for Sushi Yamashita, it is recommended to book in advance by phone/online tabelog at least one month in advance.
- Due to the scattered attractions of Shari-cho, be sure to have a self-drive or reserved taxi, the shuttle buses are very sparse.
- Be careful to bring cold-proof clothing when you visit Shiretoko Peninsula in winter, the sea breeze is very strong and the temperature difference between morning and evening is extremely high.
- Want to take beautiful photos can go to the lake in the morning or dusk, sunshine backlight plus tree photography great.
