Apartments in Puerto del Carmen

I stayed nine nights at SENTIDO Æquora Lanzarote Suites with my husband, our three children (ages 16, 14, and 8), my sister's family (including her children, ages 2 and 1), and our dad. We usually opt for all-inclusive stays in Playa de Los Pocillos annually but have never visited this hotel. We were assigned three junior suites: two on the ground floor near the splash pool and one on the first floor (18 steps up) for my elderly dad and son. I would rate this hotel three out of five stars. This review provides an honest account of our experience. Check-in Experience When we arrived at 8 pm, there was only one staff member at the front desk handling check-ins, so we had to wait in line. The lobby was impeccably clean, bright, and welcoming. The staff member was polite but distracted, frequently interrupted by phone calls and colleagues needing assistance. Soledad, his boss, intervened several times and seemed dissatisfied with his performance. At one point, he disappeared into the back office for over 5 minutes, disappointing after a long day of travelling. Overall, the check-in experience was not very welcoming, and we were underwhelmed when we finally reached our rooms. Room Quality The rooms were excellent—extremely spacious and perfect for our family. The beds were comfortable, and daily housekeeper service was available. At check-in, we could opt for less frequent housekeeper service if desired. Free Wi-Fi was available in all rooms. However, the air conditioning was not enormously powerful, and the room could have been cooler. I have experienced better air conditioning in other hotels. The room had two sleeping areas, ideal for giving our older son his space. The main downside was the communal open bathroom area, which offered no privacy for toilet use or showers. I had to ask my son to leave the room while showering since dressing had to happen in the open. While we managed, the lack of privacy in the bathroom would not be suitable for travelling with friends or children's friends. It was an unusual setup I had never encountered in a hotel. Customer Service The animation staff at the hotel were exceptional. They tirelessly provided entertainment from early morning until late evening. Our children thoroughly enjoyed the kid’s club and especially loved the mini disco. Enes, who ran the kid’s club, was fantastic. He went above and beyond to ensure all the children had a wonderful time. We are grateful for his efforts and the enjoyable experience he created for our kids. Sadly, the remaining staff significantly impacted my rating of this resort. The rudest staff I have encountered in all my years of travelling. No staff member stood out for their friendliness or effort to enhance our experience. Many were rude and diminished our experience. The resort's size affected the staff, making guests a low priority. We stayed for 5 nights with a 2.6 years old daughter and she love the place( the pool, playground both indoor and outdoor, arcade, daily kids club). Every night entertainment for kids and adult which we enjoyed it too and a relaxing ambience just a short walk and you have the front beach of Puerto del Carmen. A top notch food service especially we include the Half board (free breakfast and dinner) and the food are sumptuous with different variety to choice from. I definitely recommend the place.

Overall, it was a good experience. The hotel offers great amenities, a beautiful location, and good food. However, there were two incidents that left me feeling uncomfortable. First, upon arrival, we were asked to leave our passports at reception while we went to dinner so they could register us. While I understand the need for guest registration, I felt uneasy about this request, as it didn’t seem entirely legal or secure. Second, on the day of our departure, while I was packing in the bedroom, a staff member entered our hotel room unannounced. He came to restock the minibar for the next guests, but this happened without permission or notification. My personal documents and belongings were on the table, and I felt my privacy was violated. When I asked him to leave, he didn’t apologize and seemed offended by my request. These situations aside, the stay was enjoyable, but I hope the hotel management addresses these concerns to improve guest satisfaction and ensure better privacy standards in the future.

Nice apartment very close to the tourist ***** of PDC. Good shower and bed. Very clean. Quiet. Internet was free and functional. We ate in the restaurant twice for lunch which was nice. Didn’t try breakfast as it was too expensive. Access is via steep hills and lots of steps so not ideal for people with mobility issues but not a problem for our party. Pool was unheated so didn’t use it. If you like PDC then this hotel it worth a look.

Went there for breakfast and it was delicious. Went there for an evening meal and it was outstanding. Great service and stuff all so kind and thoughtful. Food also really fresh and very quick. Also would like to add it’s very helpful with children as for pushchairs and a park opposite from the restaurant. Would recommend:)

My goodness what a wonderful holiday we’ve had at this hotel. Nothing is too much trouble. We stayed all inclusive. Receptionist was friendly & welcoming explaining the layout of the hotel food times rules around the pool etc. Our room wasn’t quite ready and we headed off to the restaurant for lunch. Food here is fresh & plentiful. Regularly replaced. In the grill section they hv a glass area which displays the food being cooked. We always found something delicious to eat and I’d say even the fussiest of eaters would be happy. The bar area has plenty of seating which is waiter service. Pool area had plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. There was some work being carried out in the wellness area but wasn’t intrusive and we had been forewarned. Pool towels are available from reception but beware of leaving your towel down before 9am and heading off to breakfast. Towels and belongings are collected off unmanned sunbeds. I think this is a marvellous idea. Drinks and snacks can be eaten around the pool area and there are bins to place empty glasses and rubbish Our room was delightful. Fresh and modern and we had the added bonus of being on the ground floor which lead out onto the pool area but is separated by hedging. Entertainment every evening which was fun. The entertainment team worked very hard as do all the staff. Highly recommended. We will be back

This was our second visit to PDC but first stay at Hyde Park Lane. My first impression wasn’t great after having stayed at the impressive RIU Paraiso last year! We requested a safe key and the receptionist who was lovely said follow the instructions on the safe but they didn’t work! Another couple who came with us were in the bungalow next door and had the same problem - this was resolved after sending someone out to help. It turned out that you actually don’t follow the instructions on the safe! The apartment was basic but clean and functional with a decent shower so no issues there. After dropping our cases we went to the bar and ordered a large beer and bottle of water. The water was THREE EUROS!! Outrageous. We then realized that you could actually bring your own drinks etc round the pool which is a real bonus here making it perfect for a smaller budget or family holiday . There’s a small supermarket on site too or about a 10 minute stroll to a larger supermarket so very convenient. The place is well kept, the staff and cleaners and most guests were lovely and polite. After a bit of a shaky start the place really grew on us and I think I we would return for another holiday.
