Hotel Riu Paraiso Lanzarote - All Inclusive

It is 4am and I am currently staying at this hotel. Just woke up to the realisation that I am in a big fancy room with basically the clothes I was wearing my nightclothes and my phone. Told if I leave the room then I ain’t getting back in. This review is nothing against the hard working staff of this hotel and the amount of people that TUI pack in to it these guys work their socks off hope they are getting paid a decent wage. TUI advertise this as a ‘Platinum’ hotel but don’t let that fool you. What that means is you get cheap everything all inclusive. Check out the definitions of TUI hotels on Google. Anyway after having indulged in the cheap all inclusive and returning to our basic garden view room 411 next to the Vulcano disco we discovered our bathroom was flooded. We contacted reception and obviously at that time of night no maintenance people were available. The guy at reception was very apologetic but basically we were told either put up with it or we can move you to probably the only other available room (it was mobbed with new people) but if you leave that room you won’t get back in! Hence I am sitting in my penthouse apartment prison with no access to any of my belongings. There was no way we could have stayed in our booked room tonight it was an absolute hazard and inhabitable. So will stick it out tonight to see how the hotel deal with this in a few hours. Rui whoever answers your reviews please do put the usual platitudes on Trip Advisor this is beyond that. One very unhappy customer ☹️

The room was great and the service was excellent. But the drink options and quality were poor. Alcohol was so poor I didn’t drink it for the 10 days. The food options were great but the quality were quite poor. This is my 3rd all inclusive I’ve done and it was the worst food and drink wise. The location was great and the pool areas were lovely. Some lovely staff also in the restaurants.

Overall a lovely stay - staff were great (particularly the pool/activity staff who were great fun and always laughing!) good activities, really enjoyed the water aerobics. Room was modern and clean - as was the whole hotel. Super close to the beach and shops. Drinks were nice - cocktails a little watered down but freshly made which is always great! Food was also quite good, good vegetarian options and themed nights. The two additional eateries were both let downs however - just not good! Snacks were standard at the pool bars. Would’ve preferred proper coffees.. machine ones weren’t great but brewed pots available at breakfast. Prosecco in the room as it was our anniversary which was a lovely surprise! Entertainment did what it said on the tin! Great atmosphere end of August/start of September. All in all a good spot!

Family of four, 3 and 5 year old girls. Check in simple and easy, booking error from tui which reception weren't interested in solving but rectified next day by tui. Hotel very big so lots of space for everyone, no issue getting sunbeds at any point in the day. We were based in a small suite with a garden on the 'quiet' side of the hotel. Suite perfect for families, cleaners friendly and overall everything we needed in the room. Pools are good, the children's pools are absolutely tiny though and has nothing fun for kids to do in it. There is a small park area but it's not enough to get children captivated for more than ten minutes. Was handy being opposite beach with back gate as we visited there a lot. Food was what you expect from an all inclusive, not bad, not great just average. My family are very fussy but we always found something we would eat. The only thing i would say is peoples manners disappear in the restaurant, its like savages and people push in, snatch things - thia isnt hotels fault just enetitled customers that cant wait their turn. The drinks particularly soft drinks great to be self serve eather than queue at bar. Cocktails not great, v strong so didn't bother after 1st day. I really liked this hotel and I would stay again (but without my children). This hotel says family friendly but there are barely any children activities or anything for children to do. My two were bored and my youngest was too young to be at the kids club. It doesn't feel like a family place. The main clientele is over 60 year olds and some of they are quite unfriendly towards families with young kids. Maybe this hotel would benefit from creating adult only zones so when kids are having fun you don't have glaring eyes at you from the older generation- just an idea but would most likely benefit both parties.

Just had a week at this hotel, we had a beautiful sea view room. Everywhere very clean , staff are friendly and efficient .The food was good quality with plenty of choice . All inclusive drinks very nice . Be aware the hotel is like a small town ,very big lots of walking around ,large well kept grounds . If any mobility problems make sure your in main building . We were in adjacent one connected by walkway ,nearly 2000 steps from reception to our room , got to be a bit of a strain as I am 80 . Recommend you join RIU class before you go and gain benefits ,it’s free to join. Position good , can walk either way to other areas for a change . Only complaint ,only one plug in bedroom not near mirror , one in bathroom. Plus lots of mosquitos , make sure you take repellent etc .Lots of people bitten badly . Plenty sunbeds ,although best positions abused by selfish people ,and unruly children . Also download hotel App easy for any requests etc .

Absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were wonderful, room was gorgeous and the food lovely.A special mention to the Asian restaurant which we ate twice in- the most perfect meal 😊

It's been 5 years since my last visit and I wont leave it so long to revisit. The rooms have been improved significantly . The food and drinks offerings are absolutely superb with lots of choice at all meal times . With 2 specialist restaurants. The staff are very friendly and helpful I would have no problem recommending this hotel thankyou for a lovely stay .

Arrived for a week and so glad it’s only a week. I’ve stayed in Riu hotels before but this is far too big, there’s no quiet areas the restaurant is like a free for all with thousands of people everywhere you go., queues for the bars , the only peace you get is in your room. I’m not an OAP I sound like one but just pathetic the amount of capacity it takes , apparently it’s too large hotels made into one so you can imagine just how busy it is , all the sun loungers are squashed up next to one another , everyone’s coughing , it’s just not for us . Plus we’ve all been eaten alive with bites. Got to say apart from it being too busy I’ve got to say the place is spotless, food is edible, staff are all lovely,
