Bordeaux City Center
The hotel is in the city center, it is very convenient to go anywhere, the hotel is not very big, but the supplies are OK, clean and recommended. There are supermarkets downstairs.
Mercure Bordeaux Centre Gare Atlantic

The hotel is right across the road from the train station and tram/bus stops. I had a nice stay except for two things. First, the tap/shower water was too hot. A hotel staff showed me how to adjust the water temperature and said it was like this all in France. I of course disagree. I had stayed in two ibis hotels in Paris and Nantes just before checking in this Mercure. I had stayed in countless hotels throughout my 30 years of travels in Europe and had never encountered this ”scalding water” issue. In any case, the solution was to let the water run an exceptionally long time till the very hot water ran out. Then I could adjust the temperature. I come from a place where people treasure fresh water and find this unacceptable. As the hotel take international guests, perhaps there should be notices/instructions in the bathroom on how to deal with this ”scalding water” issue. Second, the coffee provided in the room was below expectation. A 4-star hotel should do better than that. I was glad about the kettle in the room, though.
Novotel Bordeaux Lac

The location is very good. There is a small lake next to the hotel, IKEA, supermarkets, shopping districts, restaurants, and the facilities are very good. The room size is good and the supporting facilities are complete. The service standard of the chain hotel and the standard of the buffet breakfast are relatively guaranteed. There are plenty of parking spaces in the parking lot, and guests can park for free. It is a 10-minute drive from the center of Bordeaux, which is worth recommending.
Citotel le Regina Bordeaux Gare Saint-Jean

The hotel's breakfast is good, that is, the variety is too small, the price is small, the hot chocolate is super delicious, highly recommended. The hotel is just opposite the high-speed rail station. It was chosen for the convenience of the train, but the surrounding security is normal and avoid going out alone at night.
Ibis Styles Biarritz Plage

Atrocious dinner service; I asked twice for water, but it was never brought. I had to ask a third time. We ate all of our starters without any of our ordered drinks (wine or water) delivered. Awful breakfast service on the first morning. In a busy environment, the logical layout of where plates and cutlery are kept (also a large distance apart) is completely nonsensical and the staff were very slow to replenish breakfast supplies during peak breakfast time. At 9.05 am, a cleaner knocked on the door! Ludicrously early. We shouted to ask them to leave. At 2.52 pm, a male staff member unlocked the door and promptly walked into the room without invitation while my partner was in bed, unclothed. This was grossly unacceptable. On that basis, you absolutely must not stay at this hotel. There is a serious safety issue here. This hotel is the ”Fawlty Towers” of Biarritz, except nobody is laughing.
Hôtel des Basses Pyrénées - Bayonne

A cosy little hotel in an old stone building, with a restaurant facing the courtyard in the old town of Bayonne. It's a little far from the central station (20min walk with luggage), but ideal if you want to immerse in the old town feel. There are also bus stops nearby. The restaurant serves good food (not the best but still convenient if you're too tired to go out). I liked that they had nice black tea from a local tea brand at breakfast and in the rooms. The amenity was decent but my first room had nice bathrobes and no tissue box, and my second room had a tissue box but no bathrobe. I got allergic reactions in one room from the room fragrance. The staff aren’t very organized but friendly and kind. Overall I enjoyed my stay but I think it didn’t match the price.
Greet Hotel Bordeaux Floirac Arena

Great hotel, clean and comfortable. Beds were great but pillows were a little bit on the thin side. Staff were very helpful even though their English were not perfect but was able to sufficiently communicate. Breakfast was good although there were not a great choice. Coffee was amazing even though it was from a machine. They have a freshly squeezed orange juice machine that made the best orange juice ever. They have a comfortable area for sitting around to watch tv or having a chat with fry. A good , clean hotel that would be recommended.

This hotel is located in the center of Bordeaux's old town. There is no place to park in the old town of Bordeaux. The roadside police are very dedicated, and there are police who have been complained about police cleaning up illegal vehicles. We chose this hotel to have its own oversized parking lot and need to pay. But very convenient. We finished the whole old town on foot in Bordeaux. The car was left in the hotel parking lot. This hotel also has a kitchenette that can cook by yourself or simply microwave. But the steak in Bordeaux is so delicious. We all eat outside.
Grand Hôtel de la Poste

This hotel was a gem of a place just a few min from the center of the old town and ten min from the beach. There are entrances on both sides of the building. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, nice old building (the floors do squeak) with a beautiful staircase and a gorgeous lounging space in the lobby, and a simple yet delicious breakfast buffet (Make sure you get the mini pain au chocolat.) I got an upgrade to a large terraced double room and had to drag myself out of it to go out it was so comfortable. 4 stars for location only because I had to pull my luggage through town from the bus/train station on foot and in the rain. But I would have loved to stay longer, highly recommend!
