The Fraser Coast Region is another great Queensland getaway for honeymooners and other romance-seekers, with Fraser Island - or K'gari, to give it its indigenous name - the undoubted highlight of any trip to this part of the state.

The largest sand island in the world - 76 miles long and 14 miles wide - was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site in the 1992, and with its wealth of rainforests, eucalyptus woodland, mangrove forests and sand dunes, you'll be able to see why.

With that in mind, let us heartily recommend an experience you can buy with Trip.com - the Remote Fraser Island Experience. Here you can take a full-day boat trip from Hervey Bay and then go snorkelling, kayaking and swimming in K’gari’s (Fraser Island) pristine waters. You'll get to see dolphins, dingoes, turtles and sea eagles - amongst lots of flora and fauna.

If you want a specific romantic event on your trip to The Whitsundays, we recommend the Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet Chill and Grill. Later, you can take a leisurely hike to Hill Inlet lookout, where you get a famous aerial view of Whitehaven beach - and a bite to eat, of course.

We move now to the tropical north of Queensland, complete with rainforests, deep blue sea, silvery-white beaches and - most notably - one of the 7 wonders of the natural world, the Great Barrier Reef . Cairns is perhaps best-known as the Great Barrier Reef hub, but it's a stunning destination for lovers in itself.

0101i12000a5fvbnj6B53.png

So aside from the Reef, what can those looking for some romance expect in the northern city? We have not one but two recommendations for you - Classic Kuranda by Skyrail and Scenic Railway, a full-day tour of the World Heritage-listed rainforest by train. Expect to see some true natural wonders here.

Alternatively, how about The Original Day Tour to Paronella Park, Lake Barrine and Millaa Millaa Falls. Here you can experience the Rainforests of Wooroonooran National Park, swimming in waterfalls, travelling through the Atherton Tablelands, viewing Volcanoes and visiting local must see attractions such as Paronella Park and much more.

After all that exploration, you're going to want to stay in a suitably excellent (and not to mention romantic hotel). How about the 5-star Hilton Cairns, offering some of the most exceptional amenities and views in the whole of north Queensland. And if an abundance of 5-star amenities are what you seek in couple accommodation, check out Crystalbrook Riley, where you can expect understated elegance, contemporary design and a splash of fun
