Comedy Incubator - You Belong on Stage Cohort 5 Graduation Showcase! | Busboys and Poets
Apr 17, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Washington D.C.
The Washington, D.C. area has a thriving comedy scene. As in most places, the majority of standup comedy shows in DC are primarily made up of cis male comedians. Amplifying the diverse voices of the DMV is critical, and we want people of all genders to know that they belong on stage.
In spring of 2023, Grassroots Comedy created and launched an incubator program for underrepresented genders in comedy -- it was so much fun that we did it again and again, and this show features graduates from our fifth cohort of students! Now's your chance to see some of the funniest new people taking the stage in DC before they get famous.
Proceeds from this show will go towards operational expenses of the
You Belong on Stage Standup Comedy Incubator
, and will help make comedy in the nation's capital (and beyond) more representative of the people who actually live there.
