After doing a bit of research for this part of my family's trip to Japan over Christmas, Kanazawa was high on our list (now Top 25 places to go this year according to National Geographic!). So glad we stayed there.
Look no further than a walk outside of Kanazawa Station (buses and trains easily accessible) and go to Hyatt Centric. Amazing location in terms of accessibility (the city itself is quite walkable or you can do the loop buses from there).
The amenities and room were top notch. Staff were amazing everywhere, their take on breakfast was also done well with a mix of local Kanazawan cuisine, Japanese dishes, and Western dishes.
Rooftop Bar was also nice.
Rooms were also very affordable compared to other cities in Japan for what some might consider a higher quality.
Already planning our next family trip and plan to go here again.
Clean and thoughtful set up. Well equipped kitchenette. With brand new dish sponge and kitchen towel ( items often overlooked at other service apartment hotels).
Spacious lounge area that had free flow beverages in the evening during our stay. Competent breakfast but lack variety as there was no change in menu during our 3 days stay.
You can access the restaurants in the same building via the escalator in the shared outdoor area next to the restaurant. Location is superb as it’s a short mostly sheltered walk to Kanazawa station
The hotel that we stayed in was SUPERB!! Its very ideal for us having kids as the hotel is situated few minutes walk from the station plus the underpass that protects us from cold since we are not used to a very cold/snowy winter plus closed to restaurants and convenient stores.
The staff were all friendly, polite and respectful. They’re all lovely and helpful!
We had a spacious and tidy room as well making as feel comfortable and gave us a complete relaxation after a whole day activity. We’d love to visit Japan and go to Kanazawa again next year and we’d love to stay at Hotel Mystay Kanazawa.
Trasmonte Family from New Zealand
The hotel is at a prime location on the main street and close to most of the attractions. The staff was very courteous and helpful. They served western style breakfast. The spread was good and tasty. The room was nice, clean and well maintained. The occupancy of the restaurant, public bath and other shared spaces can be checked from the room on the tablet. The only issue was that the blinds in the room did not block the outside light. Hence, it disturbed the sleep.
Very close to Omi Market and Kanazawa Castle. Kenrokuen Garden is also not far away. If it doesn’t rain, you can easily walk there while looking at the scenery.
On the first floor, hot Kaga stick tea and a lot of cold juices are provided, which is a very comfortable environment.
I chose a room with a terrace. Although I didn't want to go out because it was very cold, it was just enough to use an umbrella and feel the temperature outside, which was not bad.
The bathtub has a water column massage function. The switch to block the drain hole is on the side of the bathtub. It took me a while to find it.
The entrance to the hotel is a wooden sliding door as shown in the picture, which is quite private.
I had a comfortably pleasant experience at this hotel. The property is new, spotlessly clean, and situated in a great location with easy access to restaurants and shopping malls. Although the hotel has limited on-site parking on a first-come, first-served basis, there are plenty of pay parking options nearby, which put my mind at ease.
The bed was incredibly comfortable with a thick mattress and two pillows – one firm and one less firm – to suit different preferences. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for convenience and comfort!
I originally wanted to choose a hotel near Kanazawa Station, but the price increase during the New Year's Day was too great, so I booked this Tokyu Hotel next to Korinbo. It is just opposite Daimaru Department Store, there is a bus stop, there are many buses to Kanazawa Station, and the airport bus is also about 100 meters away. You can walk to the attractions, most of which are within 30 minutes' walk. The hotel is relatively large, the lobby is very grand, and the room is considered large in Japan. I booked a double room with a note for three people to stay, because the bed in this hotel is quite large and can sleep two people. I didn't expect the hotel to take the initiative to add a bed, otherwise there would be a lot of space. I stayed for three consecutive nights, and they came to clean every day, it was very clean, and changed towels and bath towels. What touched me again was that the bedding was changed every day. Generally, hotels do not change it for three consecutive nights, and there is no such demand. The bathroom is also large. Unlike the integrated design of most Japanese hotels, there is a separate washing area separated from the bathing area. Although you have to climb into the bathtub to take a bath, the bath water is large and comfortable. Pajamas and a full set of skin care products are provided. I didn't notice at first that there were already large bottles of makeup removers and cleansers on the table, all from DHC. Later, I saw three separate skin care products in the small basket for toothbrushes and other supplies, also from DHC, with more and more complete varieties. After using this, I will replenish it every day. It's so considerate, and I don't have to bring my own. The price is very cheap except for New Year's Day, and the cost performance is very high. Highly recommended!
Taxi to the hotel entrance has a warm reception. The hotel is about 8 minutes drive from Kanazawa Station. There is no business around. The hotel is clean, bright and elegant. Is the room refurbished? It is very new and clean. It makes people feel very at ease. Pleasant hotel can provide breakfast There are many transportation cars to Kanazawa Station. Breakfast buffet. There is a free washing machine dryer. Living here can be treated with thoughtful hospitality. The guests are quiet and polite. Although the price is more expensive than Grand Hyatt, it is super Grand Hyatt in some service details. The only air conditioner sounded a little bit.
The design of the Youth Hostel, the room is very small, 90 [%] or more foreigners, no noise and quiet at night. The public restrooms and bathrooms are very clean, the common kitchen pots, pans, knives and forks have everything, and they are spacious and bright. Note that the luggage storage can only be taken away on the same day. It is charged for overnight stays.

HHah MarvinThe positive reviews are real! We're very glad to have stayed here and would recommend this hotel without hesitation.
First off, the buffett breakfast is amazing: it offers local Kanazawan fare to standard Japanese favourites like tempura, sushi and sashimi to ubiquitous American breakfast offerings like sausages, bacon and a wide choice of eggs. Fancy sparkling wine for breakfast? They're available as well!
Secondly, great location. 3 mins walk to Omichi market, 10 mins to Kanazawa castle, 10 mins to Higashi Chaya, 20 mins to Nagamachi District. Honestly, Kanazawa is such a walkable town, you are always able to walk from one attraction to the next. The hotel also provides a shuttle bus from mid-morning to late afternoon that runs to Kanazawa station and back.
Rooms are well-appointed, large by Japanese standards and there's even a bathtub. Two thumbs up!

GGuest UserI booked for 2adults and 1 child, Normally every hotel will prepare bath towel or can be requested for the child use but this staff talk aggressively that I have to pay for renting additional towel set for my kid because kid has stayed for free. My point is that the hotel has to inform the customers before they has started booking or charge for child stay liked other hotel. If the hotel recognized that customers has booked for 3 people, they has to prepare 3 sets of towels. The kids cannot take a bath without a towel. That is a pity thing that the hotel should not do and take action to the customer.
DDodoandrobinThe hotel is old and the room is clean but not well cleaned especially the corners of the room. The room is old and dull and the toilet smells bad. The balcony is covered with bamboo screen which make hard to see the outside. We can see the balcony is not well cleaned and the rooftop of the building is not well cleaned, too. If they clean the balcony and rooftop it will make a big difference. The fence at the balcony is worn out if they repainted it,it will be very beautiful seeing from the inside. I dont care if the building is old but they should keep it well cleaned and more presentable and im sure people will come again. The food is good and the bathing facilities is also good but its too hot no air at all, i didnt stay long because i cant breath i wish they open the window for fresh air to come. the atmosphere from the window the dried mold of the rooftop and the worn out of the balcony fence should be fix.The place is very quiet and you can really relax. The main entrance and ground floor is renovated and its nice and modern. The service is good too but the clerks are not lively they should be more cheerful.
If the room is not dull and the balcony and rooftop is clean i want to stay again but sorry i wont stay here again.
Thank you for your service and Goodluck.
JJiyidepintuVery good hotel, just next to JR, just a few steps away, very convenient; authentic star hotel, large lobby, front desk service is very standard; the room is large and clean, stayed for 2 days, very satisfied; breakfast It's OK. Western-style bread, sausages, and bacon are all available. In addition, the booking page shows that you need to pay 800 yen tax when you arrive at the store. In fact, no one asked me to pay it. I asked the front desk when I checked out, and there was no extra fee. Overall Very satisfied, it will be my first choice for next trip to Kanazawa!
GGuest UserThe location is very continent if you are going to use trains a lot while staying in Kanazawa. The hotel is not so close to the main attractions of the city, but if you're ok about walking for a while you can there without buses. It was our case we were sating 4 nights in Kanazawa and took and took 1-day trips to other towns, so for us the location was very convenient. There are several restraints near the hotel. We fell in love with the one in shopping mall that serve unlimited shabu-shabu. The sushi restraints there also great if you are ok with waiting for a table.
Despite being located near the train-roads the room is very quiet! It is comfortable, modern and not so tiny as some rooms in Japanese hotels are. Bed and bathroom are comfortable. Also there is a large desk so you can feel comfortable if you need to work. Near the front desk you can get bathroom amenities and even scented bath bombs)
Welcome-drink is also a nice touch.
We had only one problem - we could not check-in using the machine. Don't know why it couldn't our booking. But the stuff was there to help and solved it quickly.
So we had great time here and I'll definitely stay in this hotel once again if we return to Kanazawa.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located around 10pm walk from Kanazawa station. There are a series of stores and landmarks located along the road walking there. One convenience store right next to the corner. And about 15 min walk to Kanazawa castle and Kenroku Park. The room and the bath is clean. Customers will need to scan with their cards to get access to their floor. Security is good.
GGuest UserLocated about 10min walk from Kanazawa station, very near Omicho market, hotel Forza was very advanced in the check in process. It was a decent hotel with a small coin laundry room (4 machines). However, I had 2 unhappy encounters. Trip didn't allow me to modify the dates (cancel 1 night) so I called the hotel directly. I was told by Amy or Emi to cancel the entire booking (which did not incur additional charges) and rebook, which resulted in a higher price per night. When I checked in, I didn't like the layout of the room which I was not aware of from the photos prior - bed directly facing the door, it wasnt possible to watch the TV from the bed nor from the swivel chair unless I turn it around (I bought take outs for my dinner), so I called the front desk to ask for a change (I also checked online and saw that there were available rooms) however I was rejected by Amy/Emi once again, with the reason that their housekeeping would have to make rounds again and will incur additional charges. I decided not to argue further and made do with it for my 3 nights of stay.
JJustNice and cozy hotel in the heart of Kanazawa!
It’s located near the market and some eateries.
You’ll get to have noodles for supper, relax in a good bath in the open air and cool down with ice cream when you are back in the hotel.
