Hotels With Pool in Hong Kong, China

As an airport hotel, most guests are just passing through for a night. It's really inconvenient that breakfast only starts at 7 AM. I had to wolf down my meal in 15 minutes. They should really start breakfast by 6 or at least 6:30 AM. And for those with breakfast included, you even need to pre-order a sandwich if you can't make it to the main breakfast. Other than that, everything else is fine for an airport hotel; the shuttle to Tung Chung and the airport is quite convenient.

I chose the Regal Airport Hotel because I had an early morning flight. It's incredibly convenient – the arrival hall leads directly to the hotel lobby. The next day, I didn't have to rush for transport, which allowed me to manage my time well and get a little extra sleep. The gentleman who checked me in was very enthusiastic, and despite his slightly stiff Mandarin, he answered all my questions in detail. I realized my electronic devices weren't compatible with the room's power outlets, so I wanted to ask the front desk for an adapter. However, there were guests at every counter. That's when an older gentleman from the concierge department noticed me and proactively asked if he could help. As soon as he learned I needed an adapter, he immediately went to get one for me. This was my first time staying at this hotel, and the polite and warm service made me feel incredibly welcome. Furthermore, despite being an older hotel, all the facilities were clean and tidy, and the room was spacious. I will definitely stay here again if I have the chance.

Absolutely fantastic! For the first two days, we booked a standard double room on the 12th floor, and then for the third day, a couple's double room on the 20th floor. The rooms exceeded my daughter's and my expectations. I always thought Hong Kong rooms were tiny, so I was prepared for something really small. But as soon as we walked in, it felt so spacious and comfortable! My daughter absolutely loved the complimentary bottled water provided by the hotel. The water pressure in the bathroom was great, making showers very relaxing. After moving to the couple's room on the third day, the decor was super cute. Because the bathroom wall was made of glass, the entire room felt even more open and airy. I interacted with the front desk multiple times over these three days, and their service was excellent. Breakfast was also good. This is a hotel I truly loved.

Stayed here for 3 nights in a deluxe sea view room on a high floor. Hygiene-wise, there were occasional unknown little bugs on the carpet. Not sure what they were. The staff at the 19th-floor lobby and breakfast restaurant, to put it mildly, had a very average attitude. However, the housekeeping staff were very polite and would actively greet us. There was a female manager at the front desk who was quite helpful; she assisted us with extending our stay for multiple days. The hardware is pretty good, as it's a new hotel and they're good at marketing. After three days, I felt the service wasn't great. The room card wouldn't work for the elevator every day. When we went to the front desk, they would just coldly tell us to wait in the check-in line, without even an apology. We had four different sea-view rooms over three days, and none had welcome fruit. Breakfast was expensive, but the taste and variety were very average. There are too many floors, which makes it a bit complicated, so I didn't try any other dining services. Coming out of Metro Exit D requires a fairly long walk, but considering the cheap room rate, we basically managed it ourselves. The above are my objective feelings.

I recommend this hotel, not because of its warm service – in fact, I was quite dissatisfied with the front desk staff, who were expressionless throughout and didn't seem friendly or welcoming. However, the hotel offers great value for money and is just a stone's throw from the Zoological and Botanical Gardens, making it incredibly convenient for getting to Central. I was staying in the Kai Tak area of Kowloon and only chose to stay here for one night specifically to visit the gardens, and it was the right choice – the price was affordable and the room size was suitable. However, I do think Hong Kong hotels should learn from their Japanese counterparts; since it's a service industry, a warm and friendly attitude is always necessary. Even if it's just for a few minutes, they should at least pretend! It's no wonder my friends choose to fly directly to Japan for holidays instead of Hong Kong; it truly has a lot to do with the quality and attitude of Hong Kong hotels. Compared to the slippers provided by the hotel and the ones I brought myself, it's as if Hong Kong hotels provide nothing at all... All in all, I would recommend this hotel to friends, and I hope that next time I see the front desk staff, they will combine professionalism with a smile – the two are not mutually exclusive.

When I emailed the reservations department to ask to store my luggage at the hotel a day in advance, they readily agreed without any extra charge, which touched me deeply. However, the hotel is located at the junction of the central and western parts of the Mid-Levels on Hong Kong Island. Getting to the hotel from Sheung Wan and Central requires climbing some hills. Coupled with the location delay of Google Maps, this often made me get lost in the vicinity. Secondly, I have a very special connection with this hotel: it opened at the same time as me, my surname is also LEI, I am a devout Catholic, and the hotel is owned by the Hong Kong Catholic Church. Extremely satisfied with this stay! Although I didn't get to use the pool, I was upgraded to a suite, so I didn't experience the typical 'small Hong Kong room' feeling at this Mong Kok location. It was also incredibly clean and comfortable, with no strange smells whatsoever. The bathtub was absolutely heavenly.

The hotel is just a minute's walk from Exit A1 of Sai Ying Pun MTR station, though it takes about 5 minutes to actually get to the train platform from that exit. You can also walk 5 minutes to the Water Street stop for the A10 airport bus, which gets you to the airport in about 35 minutes. There are lots of restaurants and a wet market nearby, which is very convenient. The price is great; a sea-view room for just over 400 during the May Day holiday was fantastic value for money. The room is quite small, but that's pretty standard for Hong Kong. Don't miss the rooftop view, it's absolutely beautiful. The room is very quiet if you don't use the air conditioning, but the AC unit is incredibly loud – so much so that it's impossible to sleep with it on. You could turn the AC on during the day and then switch it off before bed. The carpet smelled like stinky feet, like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I also felt like there were bed bugs, as I woke up with many bites.

The hotel boasts a great environment, convenient transportation, and easy access to shopping malls nearby. The in-house buffet is reasonably priced, offers a wide variety of dishes, and tastes excellent. However, some essential amenities are missing. For instance, when my phone ran out of battery, the hotel room couldn't provide a charging cable or an international/domestic power adapter, which was really inconvenient. Cotton swabs and toothbrushes were also not provided.

The room rates during the May Day holiday were a bit painful, so after much searching, I finally settled on this place and booked the cheapest room type. It was my first time in Hong Kong, and I'd seen many reviews mentioning discrimination, which made me a little anxious before going. However, I didn't feel any of that during my stay. When I checked in, I asked the front desk staff if they could arrange a higher and quieter room for me. To my surprise, not only did they fulfill my request, but they also gave me a semi-seaview room! The room was small but very tidy, and there was always someone to open the door when entering or leaving the lobby. There's a delicious butterfly pastry shop right downstairs from the hotel, and they even offer an 8.5% discount for hotel guests. There are also many great restaurants nearby, and transportation is super convenient. I only stayed for two nights, which wasn't enough – I'll definitely go back next time!
