I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Give Christchurch. The location is fantastic—just directly opposite the beautiful Christchurch Botanic Gardens, which is perfect for a relaxing walk.
Many of the main attractions are within walking distance, making it very convenient to explore the city without needing transport.
Overall, a comfortable and well-located hotel. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Christchurch.
This hotel is one of the better options in Kaikoura for whale watching. It offers free parking, and if the lot is full, you can also park for free on the roadside by the sea.
The restaurant downstairs is excellent. After whale watching, we didn't want to go far, so we just had dinner there.
As for the room, it's on par with domestic Quanji or Atour hotels, but not quite five-star. Still, for this area, you can't be too picky. It was clean and comfortable, which is what matters.
Beautiful place. Nice and helpful stuff. Very comfortable dorms and facilities. I’d just recommend to add more hooks and shelves in bathrooms. Lots of cosy common areas. I joined a couple of events and really enjoyed my stay.
The price was very affordable, the location was excellent, and the room was very clean. I really liked it. It's in the city center, which is very convenient, and there are many great restaurants nearby. Plus, it's very quiet.
The hotel is quite new, and the front desk service is excellent. The rooms are relatively spacious. The location is convenient, offering a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle. The hotel's private ground-level parking is a plus. The hotel offers competitive pricing, much more reasonable than hotels within the scenic area.
On our honeymoon, we drove around New Zealand's South Island. We landed in Christchurch in the evening and picked up our rental car the next day. Novotel was the most convenient choice – it's just a one or two-minute walk from the airport. Plus, the parking for all the major rental car companies is right downstairs. This was perfect for us as we just needed to grab the keys from the rental counter at the airport and then pick up the car from the parking lot the next morning.
**Facilities:** The room wasn't huge, but it had everything we needed for an overnight stay.
**Cleanliness:** The room was clean and tidy, and the sheets were spotless. We saw cleaning staff working diligently throughout the morning.
**Environment:** It's within walking distance of the airport, but the soundproofing is excellent; we couldn't hear any airplane noise.
**Service:** Very good, the staff were polite. And the breakfast was fantastic – definitely worth trying!
I stayed at this hotel for three nights in Christchurch. Overall, it maintained Hilton's usual high standards and was generally satisfying.
**Ambiance:** The hotel is beautiful, with vibrant flowers in the garden. Enjoying breakfast in the restaurant with a view of the garden outside the window was a real pleasure. The hotel is also very close to the city center. On a sunny day, it was lovely to walk to the city center, visit the Botanic Gardens, the Arts Centre, the Riverside Market, and the Cardboard Cathedral, all while strolling along the Avon River. I managed to check off many attractions without even realizing it.
**Cleanliness:** Housekeeping was prompt, and the room was clean and tidy. I didn't find any dirty spots.
**Facilities:** The hotel seems to be a bit old, so the facilities aren't brand new, but they are sufficient and well-equipped, including a hairdryer, iron, kettle, refrigerator, and air conditioning – enough for a short stay. The room's balcony was also nice, overlooking a lawn, perfect for some peaceful relaxation. The only drawback was the poor soundproofing in the room. The room next door frequently opened and closed their door, sometimes more than ten times between 10 PM and 1 AM, and at one point, it was every ten minutes or so. Each time, it made a huge noise that felt like the bed was shaking, waking me up multiple times. I even started to wonder if countless people were staying next door. This kind of thing is really down to luck, but better sound insulation would have made for a less disturbing stay.
**Service:** The front desk staff were very polite and enthusiastic during both check-in and check-out, which left a great impression. We were given two bottles of water and two warm cookies upon check-in, which was a thoughtful touch. The only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was the suspected subtle racial discrimination from the restaurant's reception staff. I stayed here for three days and saw many other Chinese tourists. Not once did I hear the staff say goodbye or thank you to us when we left the restaurant. They would just stand there, pretending not to see us, but then smile and thank the Caucasian guests walking behind us. This happened every single time for three days, and they pretended not to see other Chinese guests leaving too. I have to wonder, is this how the hotel trains its staff? To provide different service based on race? These staff members, who were older and positioned at the restaurant entrance for greeting and guiding, were not the young, busy servers inside the restaurant, who did a great job. Based on this subtle differential treatment, I can only give the service three stars, no more.
No one manning reception till spot on 3pm, multiple other Travellers all lining up . Seems I was upgraded to a very spacious room. The usual hotel/motel issues, walls don't have much sound absorption because everytime someone entered or left a room the whole wall moved. Overall comfortable and great value
I stayed in North south holiday park on the day of arrival and the night pre departure from Christchurch. It is located about 5 mins drive or 45 mins walk from CHC international airport. You can book their airport shuttle ($5 per pax) during operational hours or the front desk can order a taxi for you at a cheaper price. Amenities are complete and cleanliness is well maintained. The only set back is there is no eateries within short walking distance except burgerking, but not a problem if you come with a car or you can cook at their kitchen(with utensils provided)
A great hotel situated on the edge of the city meaning it’s quiet but still accessible. The king size room was lovely and spacious and the bed was comfortable and big. Toiletries were great quality and the service was suitably attentive. Only thing that was challenging was the unavailability of premium breakfast times due to the Christmas season, meaning 2 out of 4 mornings we skipped breakfast due to having to sit super early or towards lunch.
Would definitely recommend and would very happily stay here again.

GGarth McMillanSecond time I've stayed there. Good value for money and friendly staff. Rooms were clean and tidy but the bathroom was a little. Overall it was pleasant stay
GGuest UserI was a bit disappointed. I was expecting this to be a 5 star place, but there were a lot of things that were definitely not 5 stars. The robes were grey and didn't cover bigger people. One of them had pilling all over it, I didn't want to even wear it. The bathroom door squeaked loudly, so if one person got up to the toilet in the middle of the night, it woke the other person up. There were instructions on how to use the spa bath, but not on how to put the plug in. It didn't just plug in normally. We weren't able to use it on our first night which was very frustrating as it was one of our main attractions. I rang housekeeping the next day. Someone came and had a look and said that you had to turn a know on the side of the spa, how would anyone know that? The lock on the door to outside was broken and a small slide lock had been put on. Why not fix the main lock? I used the toilets to the side of the library and when I washed my hands, the tap was all loose and wobbled round. All these things are little but show that the lodge needs to have things fixed or updated. For $300 per night, you expect the best. The worse thing was on our last morning, we got to breakfast about 8:45, the restaurant closes at 9:30 am. There was continental and scrambled eggs and bacon. At about 9:00 am they stopped bringing out anymore bread to toast. No more croissants, eggs or bacon were brought out. There were about 6 tables with guests and everyone kept going up and checking, but they didn't refill. People were saying, they must have run out of food! But for some reason the waiter kept lifting the lids to the egg and bacon to see what was in there, but of course there was nothing as he hadn't refilled it and he was the only waiter!! I was really disappointed and wouldn't recommend it, unless you are getting a really good discount.

小小俩口吕The room was small but had everything I needed, which was very convenient. The kitchen was well-equipped with oil, salt, vinegar, and soy sauce, and had plenty of space for cooking. It's also close to the airport, and the path was well-lit the whole way, so I felt safe walking alone as a woman.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is new and very conveniently located for shopping and dining at the pedestrian street, and also for visiting the botanical garden. The room has a washing machine, and there's a kitchen where you can buy groceries and cook your own meals. The room is spacious, and it offers great value for money.
FFayreWe are couple with a 5 year old girl. We paid SGD697.85 (Singapore dollar) for staying 2 nights in this “2 bedroom apartment” as stated.
3 points here to explain the terrible experience.
1. tv remote is not working. I don’t mind the owner making excuse like “ replied customer’s message within 20mins…..” but they actually took 29mins to reply (19:10 till 19:39). In fact, they didn’t manage to change the tv remote in the end. So I stayed 2 nights without using the TV!
2.there is no clear and obvious description that this “2 bedroom apartment” is actually an adjoining unit which means when u walked into the front door then there are 2 doors link to split parts of the apartment. The problem of adjoining units are thin walls are used to split the apartment into 2 small units. When u stay in this kind of apartment, u have to endure all kind of noises from whoever staying in neighboring rooms. We had 2 days enduring guesting from the other room shouting, slamming the door, kids screaming like crazy both early in the morning and afternoon!
3. When I reflect this bad experience with trip.com customer service, this hotel responded like they have no fault at all and played with words. This attitude makes us feel like being fooled. We paid money to expect to stay in an apartment with privacy and quiet environment but indeed we had such a bad experience!
In this market, if it’s an adjoining unit, they should not charge at the rate as if it’s an entire apartment.
I’m alright that they rejected to refund the extra amount they charged. Just have to reflect the facts in the review.
Thanks.

Ffairy-smileThe location is superb, directly opposite the cathedral. It's a shame, however, that the cathedral is still undergoing renovations and seems several years away from completion. On the bright side, the beautiful Cardboard Cathedral is within easy walking distance. Just outside the entrance, there's a beautiful library with a cafe – a perfect spot for both intellectual nourishment and a coffee or snack. Riverside Market is also very close, easily walkable, and features a wide array of restaurants and bars. While New World supermarket and Chemist Warehouse are a bit further away, they are still within a manageable walking distance, and we opted to walk there. The staff were exceptionally warm and professional. The rooms were very spacious, clean, and the bathrooms featured a convenient wet/dry separation. Luggage storage was also available. Overall, this was, without a doubt, the best value-for-money hotel we stayed at during our entire South Island New Zealand trip.
CChak Heng AndrewThis hotel stay was an absolute delight, offering the perfect blend of convenience, stunning views, and high-quality amenities. The location right by the waterfront was simply breathtaking, and the proximity to the whale watching center was an added bonus.
While the unit was on the second floor, which required carrying our luggage upstairs, the view from the elevated position was well worth it. There was also the option of requesting a ground floor unit if stairs are a concern.
The check-in and check-out process was a breeze, with clear instructions provided and a designated key return box for added convenience. Having an assigned parking space just outside the unit was also a thoughtful touch.
But the true highlight of this hotel stay was the shower. The water pressure and temperature control were absolutely perfect, making for a luxurious and refreshing experience. And being able to watch the sunrise from the unit was the icing on the cake.
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a tranquil, waterfront retreat with top-notch amenities and stunning views. The combination of the convenient location, well-appointed unit, and exceptional shower made this an unforgettable stay.
HHaha205The wifi is limited to 500MB per person, the speed is very slow, and the connection is often disconnected. There is a charity shop and a Chinese noodle restaurant next to it, which is convenient for cooking. There is a gas station next to it. It is not far from the Dahuang Supermarket.
