|0.42km from city centreUndeniably, the location of the hotel is perfect as it is very close to the Cardiff Castle and the city center, only few minutes to there. The hotel also provides carpark with a reasonable charges. The staff is friendly, except that when we requested 2 more pillows, the staff questioned us why we did not take the spare pillows in the wardrobe where he didn't realize that those pillows were taken by his colleague who took them to set up 2 sofa beds for us. We explained this to him but it appeared to me that he was very impatient and impolite and cut the line. At last, of course the staff did not follow up.
Same as other advise, the hotel really needs renovation as the decoration and fittings are old and outdated.

It takes 30-40 minutes to walk to the Bay. There is a bus nearby, which takes 20 minutes. I feel that the bus tickets in Cardiff are more expensive than those in England.

People fighting and shouting outside the hotel.
As well as the Fire alarm going off at about 10:40pm.
I had to check out by 04:50 Am to catch a train and I didn't get to sleep until about 2:30am
This hotel is however right next to Cardiff Central Station so perfect for Travelling by train. Which is why I booked here.
After explaining my stay to reception I asked for a bottle of water for my travels and it was given to me complimentary which I really appreciated.
The hotel Staff were polite and welcoming, however and the room was quite clean. TV didn't work however which is a shame.

Order their specials better, however, this time my poached eggs were not soft. Excellent wine and excellent bar lunch which they allowed us to eat in the restaurant which was a bonus. I love this location. Walks through the wetlands and to Penarth and easy links to Barry Island. Spa brilliant and the quiet area next to the gym brilliant for reading

At the first glance, the hotel seems very old compared to the photo but it was quite clean. Check in was easy and the receptionists were very friendly.. I love the 24 hr front desk service. Since it is in the city center, the surrounding is a bit crowded but the entrance is always locked and you have to ring the bell if you want to get inside which I felt safe. As a solo traveller in a new city, that's the main thing i wanted. the room is tiny but have all the things I need. i thought i would hear the voices from other rooms judging by the look of the walls but I didnt . Bed was comfy and slept well.. Would definitely stay there again. Cheers.

|0.98km from city centreI stayed here for a business trip for one week. The room seemed to be clean but it is so dark that you can’t really tell if it is clean or not. That’s actually an issue - the lightening is bad. I couldn’t really work in the room since it had only a yellow ambient lightening and not a normal main source of light. The bathroom can be slightly cold if you don’t leave the door open so that warm air from the A/C can enter. It is shameful that they don’t have a breakfast included, especially for long stays in the hotel which is not so cheap and out of the center… at least one small sandwich would make things better, but nop 👎🏼. Another thing is that the area is not very nice. Unless you have to do something in that area, i don’t recommend you to stay. I was even told by taxi drivers to not walk around alone after it gets dark. Before I knew that, I did take a walk and it really felt a bit unsafe. The staff was ok, I didn’t have much contact with them. Only had an incident when I arrived - they couldn’t find me in their system (it was booked under other name by mistake but I actually changed it a week before arrival so I don’t know why they didn’t have updated information). There is a small gym, but almost all machines, except one, are for cardio exercises. Almost no restaurants or shops in the area.

Wifi was a little spotty, one of the sinks seemed to have drainage issues but otherwise it was a pleasant experience.
Steve was readily contactable and accomodating - we got to leave our luggage at the inn past the checkout time while we explored the city.
Highly recommended.

On the last day, the cleaning lady took my towel that was drying in the room by mistake. At one point, I wondered what would happen, but he kindly searched for me from among a large number of dry cleaners. Overall, customer service is a good impression.

Busy hotel, popular pool, gym, need to wait your turn for sauna & steam room but Impressed with facilities. Room service food was basic. It was very welcoming and staff friendly, rooms clean, with as much tea and coffee, which you took from the travellers store at the main entrance. My only gripe is as I have dietary requirements, They couldn't cater for them and had to make do with what was on offer. No gluten free food at night, Only what I would call general burgers, lasagne, steak battered fish and chips. Only veg on offer was peas. In this day and age Hotels need to cater for a variety of people's health conditions. Vegan/vegetarians are not Gluten free or Ibs sufferers or Celiacs. Which are complicated problems. It would be helpful if they offered something which could be adapted. .

|0.45km from city centreWe stayed here for 3 nights, it was very pleasant and clean. Friendly faces and friendly service. The beds are very comfortable and absolutely huge! The only negative I would mention was the fact that on the first night, we were sat in the bar enjoying a drink and the barmaid came out and started to hoover, which obviously made us uncomfortable and was also quite loud, so we proceeded to take our drinks to our room to finish them. Which also meant we didn’t use the bar facility again for the rest of the stay, which was a shame.

The Gym was tiny for the size of the hotel, the bedroom was a standard double room, the reviews said that the Clayton had been newly refurbished, but felt that the room was dated. Due to windows not being able to be open due to H&S, there was no fresh air, just air con. The room was mostly clean, few stains on the carpet, and floor felt dusty.
The hotel location was great, near the train station and in town, but for the cost, I was expecting something much better, as the night before we had a much cheaper hotel, and rooms came with kitchens, and were very modern - wish I had stayed at that one for the extra few nights.

The service offered at the Park Plaza was excellent, as were the amenities. Breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious choices each morning, with an additional option of room service. The Park Plaza also offers guests the use of their gym and pool, which were both lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the Park Plaza Cardiff.

The room was ideal, slightly dated but everything was spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and the shower had a good powerful flow. We were only there for one night so the only other service I tried was the Bar. Again the service was first class. The Hotel has a central location just opposite the Castle. I would highly recommend this Hotel and I would definitely book again. Thank you.

|0.31km from city centreI really enjoyed my stay overall. The location was fantastic—on a beautiful street—and the hotel building itself is stunning. When I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by a very kind Italian gentleman, which gave me a great first impression. My room, though located in a separate area, was clean, modern, and nicely decorated. Everything looked fresh and well thought out.
However, I was disappointed to find visible stains on the bed sheets. While I believe they had been washed, the stains hadn’t come out and the sheets were still used, which didn’t match the high standard the rest of the hotel presented. I think they should have replaced them.
Another minor inconvenience was the bathroom light, which was automatic and triggered the extractor fan. This meant that even during the night, using the bathroom caused the noisy fan to stay on for a while, which could’ve been avoided with a manual light switch, in my opinion.
Despite these issues, the stay was mostly very positive, but I can’t give a full five stars because of the sheets. Hopefully this can be improved for future guests.
