Our stay at this hotel was lovely! The staff are very nice and helpful. We initially booked the room without the breakfast, but when we checked in, the hotel staff gave us a 2 free breakfasts! The buffet breakfast was great, with a large variety of Chinese and western food.
The location of the hotel is also very convenient. We took the high speed rail from Westkowloon station in HK and got off at Futian. We were able to walk from the Futian station directly to the hotel.
The room was nice and clean and the king sized bed very comfortable.

The hotel boasts excellent views, and its proximity to Chegongmiao Metro Station exit (less than a 5-minute walk) was a major plus! Blue taxis are always readily available right outside the entrance.
Regarding the facilities: Being an older hotel (built in 2009), it understandably shows its age, but everything remains within acceptable standards. The shower temperature control could sometimes be inconsistent, fluctuating between too hot and too cold, which was a slight drawback 😥. Additionally, the room lighting was a bit dim, and the older television didn't support screen casting.

Originally an older upscale hotel, the facade has been recently renovated, giving the entrance a modern and grand appearance.
Pros: The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a 10-minute walk from Luohu Port. While the room's original furnishings have a classic, somewhat dated feel, it was spotlessly clean and offered good value for money, especially at less than 400 RMB on a Saturday.
Minor drawbacks: 1. The hotel hallways have noticeably low ceilings. 2. Only 3 out of 5 elevators were operational.
Major Drawbacks: 1. The banquet hall entrance was directly adjacent to my room. An event was held there in the afternoon, creating significant noise. What's more, guests could only access the banquet hall via the guest room corridor, leading to a constant stream of non-guests passing by my door. If this is the unavoidable route for banquet access, then a room in this location should absolutely not be designated as a guest room; it's only fit for a storage or linen room.
2. The air conditioning (AC) was practically useless. Even set to 18℃ with the fan on high, it only produced a very weak, slightly cool breeze. It struggled all night, only managing to cool the room to 27.5℃, resulting in an uncomfortably hot night. I checked in around noon and only returned to my room after 11:30 PM. With an early check-out the next morning for Hong Kong, I simply didn't have the energy or time to request a room change. Cleanliness: Excellent. Many five-star hotels tend to overlook details like dusty electric kettles or dirty magnifying mirrors in the washroom, but not here! That definitely left a positive impression.
Environment: Although it's an older five-star property, the overall environment is still superb. The accessible elevator for the metro station is conveniently located right opposite the hotel, and the subway passage itself is lined with many restaurants, making it very easy to explore Shenzhen's local food scene.
Service: I gave five stars for all other categories, but only four for service! We only had one light carry-on suitcase for this trip. This was the first time I've encountered a hotel where the concierge completely ignored our car pulling up to the entrance and didn't offer any help with our luggage during check-in. At the Ritz-Carlton, for example, the concierge is usually ready to open the car door even before it's fully stopped, let alone expecting us to handle our own bags! It's not that we *can't* carry our own luggage, and if there were many cars and guests at the time, we'd totally understand if they were overwhelmed. But our car was stopped right in front of the concierge, with no other vehicles or guests around. So, what exactly is the purpose of having a concierge stationed at the entrance then? It's the first time I've experienced something like this, and I found it quite perplexing. The room felt a bit cramped. The bathroom, especially, was quite tight, and a child could easily bump into the glass partition – perhaps this is specific to our room type. The mattress was quite soft; those who prefer a firm bed might want to consider this. The room was generally clean, though the desk showed some signs of age.
Breakfast was enjoyable, but I noticed several chipped table corners near the glass wall. We only became aware of this safety hazard when our child bumped into one. A simple fix like adding corner protectors would easily resolve this.
On the positive side, the complimentary Westin Executive Lounge access for two was fantastic, with unlimited snacks, fruit, and tea available all day.
We didn't use the exclusive discount offer (up to 10% off) at select retail, dining, and beauty stores in Yitian Holiday Plaza.
We did utilize the RMB 100 dining credit at the Westin Sky Grill. The foie gras was excellent, and our child really enjoyed the steak and pumpkin soup. Although the restaurant wasn't busy, the ingredients were noticeably fresh.

Stayed here with my boyfriend for 1 night as we needed a relaxing getaway from Hong Kong.
Booked the hotel very last minute (3 hours before we arrived) and it exceeded our expectations!
We came during the week so the area itself was not busy (as i’ve read it can get on the weekends) so it was perfect for us to have some peace and quiet.
The hotel is ON the beach and there are activities that can be done from there (kayaking, jet ski etc). There are cute little coffee shops/restaurants all within walking distance and in the evening there was entertainment on the beach including an open air cinema with beach chairs for guests.
We booked a room with a jacuzzi on the balcony which was lovely in the evening. The room was very clean, the king size bed was huge and we were able to watch english movies via the projector! (Even travelling in the city at more well known hotels, we have had trouble watching english language tv/movies so this was a bonus for us)
In the morning we asked for late check out (very last minute) and they let us stay for an additional hour.
Also, breakfast was included but we missed the allocated time and they texted us via wechat to offer to bring up 2 plates AND coffee which they did not have to do but was so appreciated.
Overall, we needed to relax and this hotel was perfect. We will definitely be returning again AND recommending to our friends.FromRUB 4,009

We recently stayed at the InterContinental Shenzhen with our family—our 3-year-old daughter, 12-year-old son, my wife, and me—and we absolutely loved it! The hotel is wonderfully child-friendly, with activities that kept our kids delighted throughout. The pirate-themed swimming pool was a standout; our children didn’t want to leave! Our daughter especially adored the train that circles the swimming play area, adding a magical touch to their fun.
The gym area is excellent, offering a great space for adults to unwind and stay active. The bar and restaurant exceeded our expectations, and breakfast was superb, featuring an impressive selection of both Chinese and Western dishes to suit every taste.
A big thank you to @Dafne 达芙妮 for making our entire stay so special — her thoughtful service truly enhanced our experience. Check-in at the front desk was quite slow, leading to long waiting times. Although we booked two rooms, they didn't offer the 180-degree sea view we had hoped for. However, the hotel did upgrade our rooms, which was a nice gesture and made the service feel acceptable. Both the front desk and housekeeping staff seemed perpetually busy, resulting in somewhat slow responses when we requested service. As a huge Muji fan, I finally got to visit the first Muji Hotel, located at UpperHills, with direct access from the parking lot. The hotel offers excellent services and amenities, such as eye masks, earplugs, and aromatherapy products. What truly impressed me was the thoughtful breakfast; though the selection wasn't vast, it was clearly made with sincerity, featuring high-quality ingredients and cooked with dedication. The room was spacious and beautiful, with a huge balcony directly overlooking a stunning sea view. Every morning, the sunrise painted half the sky crimson, which was truly spectacular. The beach was literally just downstairs, a stone's throw away – it's rare to find a hotel with such direct access. The fine, soft sand is a rarity in mainland China, and I never expected to find such a beautiful beach to enjoy right here in Shenzhen.
There's a great variety of children's facilities, including multiple indoor and outdoor pools, plus an indoor heated pool. Our kids absolutely loved playing in the water. The staff were highly responsive and provided attentive service. There are also plenty of supermarkets and small restaurants nearby, about a ten-minute walk away.
There were a few minor imperfections, though. The breakfast was decent – enough to fill you up, but nothing particularly exciting. The soundproofing wasn't great. As it's a family-friendly hotel, many guests have children, and over the weekend, kids upstairs were running and screaming for about two hours. Late one night, the occupants of the adjacent room ordered takeout, and the delivery person kept knocking on their door for ages without anyone answering.
Despite these minor issues, the overall experience was excellent. It was our child's first time seeing the ocean, which happened at the InterContinental, and we'll definitely be back! 👍🏻FromRUB 12,357
