My story with The Langham began back in 2012 when our company celebrated Christmas in its gorgeous halls. I still remember that glamorous night.
This time, 13 years later, I decided to stay at the hotel for my birthday, and it was the best decision I could’ve made.
Firstly, I got a corner room, distant from the elevators, on an upper floor—everything I wished for. The room was unbelievably spacious, with a long corridor, and the bathroom was huge too.
I loved the furniture, decor, and style—it is so classy and elegant, exactly as it should be in a hotel with a long history.
With its old-money interior style, the room was equipped with up-to-date features such as a speaker with an inbuilt phone charger, a clock, an alarm, automatic curtains, an awesome smart TV, and a coffee maker.
I noticed no odors, although I had read many comments about them. The service was outstanding in every way!
The fantastic swimming pool had great facilities like a jacuzzi and bubble baths. The sauna was one of a kind, featuring a hot/wet steam room and a snail shower experience—definitely check it out!
The dining was incredible as well. I had afternoon tea in The Palm Court, accompanied by live piano music. I loved breakfast, which offered every meal you could imagine.
I especially enjoyed spending time at the Perch bar, where they provided a complimentary drink and served great food. The atmosphere felt like a gentlemen's club or a castle.
After 2.5 days at The Langham, I can confidently say there’s no need to choose from a long list of 5-star hotels; this one meets every kind of customer's expectations!

My family, two adults plus two kids (3 and 5 years old), had a really nice one night stay at this hotel.
Yuki and Sirius from check-in greeted us warmly. I had a few questions and they addressed all my concerns professionally. I also requested for bed guards and housekeeping sent them over with the friendliest smile.
We stayed at a kids friendly room with two beds. The room is spacious enough for the kids to roam around while I unpacked our belongings. There’s a huge tub that fits all of us, a balcony with a lounge chair for us to chill in the breeze while munching on snacks / viewing the hotel’s outdoor playground and merry-go-round.
The hotel’s well maintained and I’d say it’s kids friendly. The design of the outdoor and indoor play area have plenty of open-ended play facilities which I appreciate.
They also have a “beach” with sand connecting to the outdoor pool, which btw is smooth and clean, so I felt safe to let my kids play there. There are also plenty of fish in the garden which the hotel allows us to feed and this made it extra fun!
The water park wasn’t open during our stay and we missed the train ride (apparently I read the schedule wrong) so hopefully the next time we revisit this hotel we could give these a try!FromTRY 5,762

The breakfast was disappointing — extremely limited options and not suitable for Western guests. I had paid for it in advance but ended up not using it at all, choosing instead to eat elsewhere.
The bed was uncomfortable, with a mattress that was far too hard.
The noise level in the room areas was also a problem. It was constantly loud, and on two consecutive days, someone either knocked on my door or tried to open it, which made me feel quite unsafe.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Hotel at Golden Bay. Our room was beautiful and clean, very spacious with an outstanding view over the pools and ocean. Great location we picked this hotel partly because of a planned trip to the nearby mountain park walks the next morning. Really fee good with some rest in a well prepared room before and after the walk.

Variety, food quality and overall experiences are not comparable with a typical 5-star American chain resort hotel buffet breakfast, of course. For example the coffee machine is kind of slow. And it feel bad when we see the staff take out the packing of “Ajisen” packing when cooking the Ramen in breakfast, even make us wonder about the quality “Muji Dining”. Kind of expected, what can we expect given Muji have to control cost in the restaurant? But still a bit a put off I reckon, not of the value considering the premium price we have paid for the room.
