Best Beach Hotels in Ajaccio

As members of a 24-strong Great Rail Journeys Group, my wife and myself are nearing the end of a 2 day stay at the Mercure Ajaccio Hotel. The property is located opposite the Port and a short walk (10 & 15 mins respectively) to both the Railway Station (our Group arrived from Calvi) and the town centre. There are also many bars, restaurants & supermarkets nearby but my advice Is to stick to the main roads when walking as it’s easy to lose one’s bearings in the side streets. The rooms are perfectly adequate - with all the usual amenities (I particularly liked the walk-in shower and plenty of hot water) and the staff most amendable This was very much so in the Breakfast area on the 2nd Floor - adjacent to the swimming pool - where tge 2 ladies could not have been more helpful. All in all, a most comfortable stay and I certainly would be happy to return.

We booked a room with 3 beds, room was modern and clean, bathroom had heated towel racks, each bed had plug ins for USB port. We didn‘t have breakfast because our train left very early but it looked fantastic, better than anything seen so far on the island. Monsieur Pablo at the reception was incredible helpful and able to answer all our needs! Thank You!

For the second time we stayed in this very beautiful hotel after our arrival by ferry. Last year by chance and this year by conviction and to be able to discover a little more the awards of Ajaccio. Very good stay! The staff (accommodation and breakfast) is very nice, laughing and listening. We simply regret, with the canicule, that no room has mini fridge... This remains a detail because the room is very beautiful and clean! We will come back...

It’s a beautiful hotel in the main street of Ajaccio, so you are plenty of options. The room was beautiful, with enough space, the air conditioned worked pretty well, the staff is so friendly. The little black spot is the lift, is not enough for the building sometimes, we were lucky as we were located on the first floor and we can use the stairs, but the restaurant is seven stories above. The breakfast is really good, and with an amazing view of the port, unfortunately every day a ship with the height of a building contaminate the view. The pool is very required so you better catch a spot early.

We stayed here a week during the second half of a holiday in Corsica. Ajaccio is a good base for visiting parts of Corse-du-Sud. The location isn't in the nicest part of town and there is quite a long walk to get to the lively part where the better restaurants and nicer sea views are to be found. The best aspects of this hotel are the room, which was huge with spare beds and plenty of storage. Toiletries are as basic as can be [plastics policy], and we had to scout around for coat hangers. The bed was very good. Parking is free and convenient and there are always spaces in the car park. This is a chain, and as such you get a chain style buffet breakfast. The same wide choice of mediocre items every day with no variation. Coffee from a machine which was below par - if you want decent coffee you have to pay at the bar (we did) which felt like bad value. Having to use a tray for breakfast creates a slight prison-like atmosphere. Staff are always on hand and friendly enough. Some a little more clued in than others it's fair to say. Overall a good choice and reasonable value.

I have chosen a room for 3 people from 12 to 13 August at all early afternoon I am contacted by the hotel manager who asks me our time of arrival I answered him on the road but I had not planned for some time later a moving defect to cancel this reservation on the all Com site and I contact ibis budget Ajaccio asking them to cancel my reservation a young man says yes thank you very much for your call it is about 15:30 a half hour more The same young man reminds me by saying Mr. I'm sorry, but my direction will collect your blue card about €130 because your cancellation is too late I would have had to cancel you the night I insisted with the young man in him indicating that I could not know I was going to be in trouble but for him nothing to do is the general conditions ibis I posted a mail to ibis budget asking the director to contact me and I have so many times at ibis budget and Ibis style, because the management apparently manages the two hotels but so far no return and yes they have debited my bank account For me it's the flight because I think this room was rented twice and especially that it's people after me The explanation of my non-coming is not a sign of civilization and understanding. Yes I didn 't call 24 hours before to cancel my reservation the next day but I didn 't know a car crash went arrived Break this direction is not listening to the clients And yet there is still no call from ibis

Even if the hotel is a little old, the staff is really pleasant. Good litter, quiet and well placed. A problem with the TV orders but it was offset by the welcome with a free coffee / growing in the morning of departure, sympathetic ☺️

I stayed in this hotel for a very brief weekend. The receptionist and the staff is very kind and helpful , however, I would never say that this hotel is a 4 star. The room is nice but very simple, the toilette door being a wooden one with holes in it - making it the toilette experience one for the public (lack of intimacy 100%) The balcony is old and doesn't even have a small thread to hung the towels for drying The toiletries provided are of lowest quality - the body shampoo a complete disaster However, I have to admit that the quality of the restaurant is good - breakfast is varied and delicious, and lunch is cheap and very tasty The swimming pool is precious (even though they will require a 20 euro caution to be given in cash or through check - no credit card is possible and you can't even ”debit” it on your room number - for 2022 is a bit strange) . All in all I would recommend it, but it is definitely not a good choice if you are going for a good price-quality ratio
