Hotel Yam at Andong cultural street Reviews

The room is quite small, but very cozy and clean. There is everything you need (hygiene products, robes, slippers, hair dryer, hair straightener, refrigerator, TV, computer). Friendly staff, you can drink coffee and have a snack in the lobby. The price for the room is very affordable. The only minus is the air conditioner opposite the bed.

A good hotel for the price you pay. The room is clean and big enough. Though, The breakfast is super basic.... The receptionist can't speak English...

We had a great stay at the Yam Hotel. The perfect location for a trip to Andong. The room was spotless, comfortable and had all the amenities. Would have loved to stay longer. Highly recommend this lovely hotel.

I was there for biz trip and I expected an extra monitor to connect with my laptop. But it was an old connector, VGA. I asked if there was any way. The front man, the owner, tripped to his home to replace the one in the room. How nice the service is in this small town. Hotel staff cared about what customers needed. I don't know how I am thankful for his attitude. Will visit again if I come back to town.

Well located hotel near lots of food and shopping options in central Andong. It was possible to walk to the riverside to the local folk village and also next to the bus stop for Hahoe village. The room was clean, with water and juice provided, as well as a free coffee machine, popcorn machine and toaster.

The room smelled a bit like cigarette when we walked in. We notified the front desk but then the response was that there was no more vacant room. The overall service and room condition were alright except for the smell.

Nice small hotel located in a good central location. As with very other hotel I've visited in Korea, the room was very clean and comfortable. A free popcorn machine at the reception was a nice touch. Would recommend. Andong itself is an interesting small city with a good bus network to allow you to see the local sights. But the walk along the river bank to the moon bridge was our highlight.

Overpriced for a small hotel

The location is great for exploring Andong City. The facilities appear to have been remodeled, but there's no elevator, and the bathrooms and other amenities look a bit outdated. I feel this way every time I visit Andong, but overall, there aren't any good accommodations in the city, so I recommend this as an alternative.

At check-in, I was told there was an overbooking and that I was being transferred to the hotel next door, the Andong City Hotel, which apparently belongs to the same person. The 'standard' room was clean but nothing like what I had booked at the other hotel. There was a lot of noise in the hallway during the night. Also worth noting is that there's no proper parking, only two spaces, and then it's on the street in front of the hotel if you're lucky—it's a pedestrian street... I think this overbooking claim is dishonest and allows the manager to fill both hotels. Very disappointing. I don't recommend it.

It was clean and the location was good. I slept warmly in the cold wave. I was worried because it was a motel village, but since there were 9 people, they rented 4 rooms including a twin room and assigned 3 rooms adjacent to each other. We were able to eat toast and milk in the morning. The kids liked the popcorn. However, the hallway and the room were narrow, but the bathroom was spacious, which was strange. There is no elevator, so it might be difficult to bring infants. Maybe because of the insulation, the windows were narrow, which was a bit stuffy. It was a neighborhood with no view, so I thought it was okay. It seems like a cheap and good place to stay for business trips or solo travelers.

Perfect! Large bedroom, large bathroom. Comfortable mattress. Central location and next to bus stops.
