I stayed at the Hakkoda Mountain Hotel Resort on a hiking trip to Mt. Hakkoda. The biggest attraction is its excellent location, just a few minutes' walk from the base station of the Hakkoda Ropeway. For hikers who want to start early in the morning, there is no better place than this. By using the ropeway, you can quickly gain altitude, and access to the Hakkoda ridge and marshes is also very smooth. Although the exterior of the hotel looks a little old, the interior is well-cleaned and has a quiet and calm atmosphere. The warm wood-based interior made me feel like I was in the mountains. The room was spacious, and from the window I could see the majestic nature of the Hakkoda mountain range. The morning and evening views were particularly beautiful and soothing. The staff were very polite, and I was able to spend my time comfortably from check-in to check-out. The building was quiet, making it the perfect environment to slowly soothe the fatigue of a mountain trip. I think the comfort of being able to return to your room immediately after hiking and take a shower is a big attraction for hikers. However, one thing that was disappointing was the hot spring. It used to be a natural hot spring, but now it is no longer flowing, so it is just regular hot water. I was looking forward to the hot spring as one of the things to enjoy after coming down from the mountain, so I was a little disappointed. However, the large bath itself was spacious and clean, and the view from the open-air bath was wonderful, so it was enough to refresh me. Overall, I think this is a very convenient and comfortable hotel for those planning to climb Mt. Hakkoda. I recommend that those looking to enjoy a natural hot spring check in advance, but I would definitely recommend this lodging to those who value location, tranquility, and the natural environment.

The hotel is a two-minute walk from the ropeway, and you can ski to the gate when it snows heavily. I slept with the window open at night. Breakfast and dinner are included in the room rate. They are typical Japanese meals, but there is very little sashimi and the taste is average. The hotel has its own indoor hot spring. When I asked, I was told that it was free. However, a tax of 150 yen was charged at checkout. I don't understand the theory on which this tax is charged. It is probably because the price/performance ratio is not good and there are not many people living there. Most people stay in Aomori even if they want to ski the next day. By the way, Chengcang and Suantang are still some distance away from the ski resort. In addition to three buses a day, the hotel also provides free pick-up and drop-off, but the general time is fixed. Chengcang will drop off at 9 o'clock and pick up at 3 p.m. If you need pick-up at other times, please negotiate with the hotel. Go to the ski resort and wait for the bus line 11 at the bus stop in front of Aomori Station. There is a stop sign, and there are three buses a day, the earliest one at 8 a.m. I was worried about the crowds, so I queued up 20 minutes early, but in the end everyone was seated Yes, there are prepared chairs in the middle aisle of the bus that you can use. The weather was very good that day, but the cable car was out of service, so I had no choice but to go skiing at the small ski resort next to it for an afternoon, which cost 3,800 yen for half a day and four hours. I only skied twice on the second day, and the service was suspended due to strong winds.

The room is very Japanese-style and very spacious. I enjoyed staying with my friends. In the off-season, breakfast needs to be reserved far in advance and we directly purchase a room with breakfast. Otherwise, we would go to the restaurant to order food but were rejected. There are only two people taking care of the entire hotel. There are no restaurants within a three-kilometer radius, and some of them close at six o'clock. There are a lot of floating and sinking substances in the hot spring Hanshuizawa hot spring. I thought it was too weird and ran away after soaking for a while. I thought that men's soup was like this, and that sinking and floating substances were normal, but my friend said that men's soup was very clear. Because there are really many bugs in the mountains, but the air is very good.

The hotel is not new but it is worth the price. We had a great 2 days. The food was really good value for money.
