"This is a family-run hotel. Looking at the map, I thought it wasn't far from the Old Cataract Hotel, but it's actually located on a hillside. There were many stray dogs in packs on the way, so we had to take a taxi every time we went in or out. Every room has a beautiful Nile view, and the view from the breakfast terrace is especially lovely. The scrambled eggs were delicious. However, the hotel has poor soundproofing; you can hear people coming and going. Also, after taking a shower, there was a sewage smell from the bathroom. I recommend bringing your own disposable bedding."

"Situated by the Nile, Artika hotel is a colorful guesthouse. We were received by a very friendly staff. After an hour in our room, the girl from the reception came to offer us an upgrade. When I asked how much it cost, she replied: "oh no, it's free! Because you travel with Long Range, we offer you this upgrade for free." Since the new room was more spacious, we gladly accepted the upgrade. Breakfast and dinner were included in our stay, but every night after dinner we were asked to pay. Speaking of meals: the food isn't very consistent. One night the pasta aglio e olio was very good, the next night it was rubbish. The meat was mostly dry and overcooked. After we checked out from our room, our guide from Long Range told me they charged him for the "free" room upgrade. I wasn't too pleased with that. All in all I can't say I was satisfied with my stay there. It felt like they tried to rip me off with the dinners. And they actually did rip me off with the free room upgrade. My advice: don't go."

"Located on Elephant Island, it's very inconvenient to get to; you have to pay extra each time you go to the island, though not much. The owner and staff are very polite, and the facilities are very new—arguably the best I've encountered in Egypt. However, the location is absolutely terrible. If you prioritize facilities and cleanliness, this is an option, but I wouldn't recommend it if you want to avoid hassle."

"The hotel itself is beautiful with wonderful rooms and a beautiful view. However, i called before we arrived and some of the people working there lied about the state of the road leading to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel with this false information and asked therefore to provide one car instead of tuktuks for the very young child with us. They initially agreed and then changed their mind. In summary, they weren’t accommodating despite saying multiple times that the road was absolutely fine all cars could come through. The road has huge holes and potholes. Its a dirt road so if you don’t want to be on tuktuks all the time, avoid this hotel."

"The location was pretty good. The room didn't seem to be the type I booked. It was super spacious, and they prepared a room with one double and one single bed. The staff at check-in were friendly, and the Wi-Fi speed was decent. I didn't try the breakfast. There's a shopping mall connected right next door, and the Lavazza cafe on the first floor is open 24 hours, which was very useful. However, I left something behind at the hotel and contacted them. I asked about shipping it, but since I had already moved on to Luxor, they could only arrange a car delivery from Aswan to Luxor, which was a bit disappointing. It wasn't something expensive, so I decided not to pay for the car delivery and just gave up, but it was inconvenient for the rest of my trip since I'd left my electronic device charger. It would have been great if they could have shipped it to Cairo..."

"If you can't tolerate noise, definitely don't book this place. In Aswan, there's constant motorcycle noise late at night, especially late at night. We were staying on the fifth floor, which felt like sleeping on the street. Otherwise, there's not much to say. Hotels in Aswan are generally quite old, and this one was no exception—similar to a slightly better hotel in China from the 1970s or 80s. There were only two electrical outlets in the entire room."

"Hotel was located quite rural area with no proper road. Taxi will drop you off 100 meters before the entrance as they are unlikely to go down the slope. You have to carry your luggage through the stairs before going in. Upon checking in you notice there was no aircon on and lobby is quiet. I was told to pay additional cost as the online booking shows only 1 guest. Please check before you book or it will cost you quite abit. My room was located beside the lift anr it could get noisy as noisw insulation was not good. Would not recommend to stay here."

"Every day when I return to the room, it is carefully decorated and my clothes are carefully organized. The Nile River outside at dusk is the most beautiful scenery. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we were very satisfied. The only drawback was that there were not many meal options, probably because of Ramadan. I don't understand why lunch and dinner cost the same but the amount of fries is three times the amount. The service staff was very nice and attentive. They knew it was my birthday and sent me a surprise, which was very unexpected to me. The birthday cake was the most delicious dessert I have ever had in Egypt. 💕"

"The stretch of the Nile in Aswan is arguably the most beautiful, and the hotel's legendary status goes without saying, having inspired both the novel and film "Death on the Nile." The hotel has a very bright and airy feel overall, perhaps due to the intense sunshine outside; Aswan in September gets sun every day. The hotel itself is a special attraction. Security: Strict security at the entrance. The hotel truly feels like a world unto itself. Food: Breakfast has a good selection of cold dishes, and the service is excellent. The 1902 restaurant's style is a must-see. Room: Large balcony with views of the Nile and desert. The design features a distinct North African style. Service: I accidentally scalded myself with hot water in the evening, and the hotel promptly and professionally sent medicine twice, followed up on my condition, and offered further advice. It turned out that the medication and dressings provided by the hotel were the most suitable and highest quality for the rest of my trip. I sincerely thank all the staff who provided service. I believe one of the hallmarks of a truly 'good' hotel is its ability to handle customer emergencies like this. Thumbs up to the entire hotel. If you're not driving, exploring Aswan's attractions can be a bit challenging, but the hotel's concierge staff provides helpful advice. Overall, everything was excellent."
