I walked from Kita Matsumoto Station to the hotel. ７ minutes? It is a walk arrival. The woman at the front desk had a smile and there was no unpleasant impression. The room was a room with Matsumoto Jo castle on the top floor. Especially at night Matsumoto Jo castle was the best and clean. The room size is a bit small, but I think it is reasonable to think of the price. The public bath is the feeling that it is said to be a small bath. ５ people are full if they enter. Moreover, there was no corona countermeasure at all. It is a breakfast restaurant, but it uses tong in the form of Viking, but the corona countermeasure is halfway and it is not possible. This quirky but comfortable hotel won't necessarily wow you but they get the details right. Quaint architecture, comfortable yukata, very nice service (in particular they were very sweet when dealing with a lost passport situation!). A 12 min walk from the station, nice emphasis on local crafts, and very close to the matsumoto castle.

Less than 5 minutes walk from JR station, my moderate twin room is very spacious and comes with a work desk. Beddings are very comfortable and plenty of amenities are provided. They even have complimentary supper service at night. We didn't get to try the breakfast but they look great with a lot of varieties. This is a great place to stay in Matsumoto.

The staff and service were very appreciated. We forget some stuff in the room and the hotel staff tried so hard to find it and gave us back despite we already check out. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was very close to the train station with a few minutes walk. We really appreciated our stay and will visit again for sure. 😊

Check-in uses an automatic check-in machine, but even when I entered the building, the front desk staff just looked silently and didn't even greet me. A super hotel, convenient for both Matsumoto train and bus stations, with the best breakfast in Japan! We stayed for two nights in a twin room, which was reasonably sized, with a small seating area. Everything was spotlessly clean, with a compact bathroom and decent over the bath shower. The hotel has excellent facilities, including two laundry rooms, so we were able to get our washing done for 300 yen a load. You can monitor the progress of your washing and drying from your bedroom TV, which also tells you how busy the breakfast room is! The breakfast was amazing! Such an incredible array of sweet and savoury dishes, including roasted pumpkin in sesame which was divine. Reception staff spoke good English and were very polite and helpful. A really nice hotel for visiting beautiful Matsumoto Castle and the Yayoi Kusama exhibition at the City Museum of Art. We would definitely recommend it.

We wanted to treat ourselves for an anniversary so booked in for a night. It is not cheap - we paid SGD 770 for the night, but it was a good experience all the way from check in to check out. The price includes dinner, which was plated beautifully and featured items like lobster sashimi, beef stew and bracken tempura. Breakfast was done buffet style and had both Japanese and Weatern dishes. There are onsens as well. We opted to pay 3000 yen for a private couple onsen for 45 minutes, but there are also public baths on the 4th floor. The bath on the 3rd floor, just off reception, switches between males in the morning and the ladies in the evening. The room was largish and I loved that the yukatas came in a variety of sizes. There is no room clean up till check out, but they do lay futon beds in the room. The room was well appointed and had a great view, small fridge, a safe, and coffee and tea making facilities. There was even a coffee bean grinder. There were ample power points. Wifi was okay though it did drop now and then. There are separate toilet and shower rooms. There is a souvenir cum general store in the lobby where you can even buy condensed milk ice cream. Staff are friendly and efficient. They do have a free shuttle bus from 5 pm at the Matsumoto train station to the hotel, and one the following morning at 9 am and 10 am back to the station.
