Such a beautiful place located in the middle of the Andaine forest. The room was absolutely beautiful with 3 balconies to enjoy the scenery. Their service is impeccable as they pay attention to the smallest details. Must try their Michelin star restaurant. Highly recommended, thank you for hosting us.

Staff is available and welcoming. The location is great, next to a forest and the city of Bagnole de l'Orne. The pool and the garden are great to enjoy. But beware of the pricing and final invoice, which can be wrong.

Great place strongly recommend the lodges which are super cool. Be aware that there are no other restaurants or even lunch/snacks available within walking distance besides the Michelin restaurant which is closed for lunch most days.

Stayed here recently with a group. The room was small, the bathroom tiny. Not unexpected in France. However there was no aircon or fans (2 hot nights). The door to the balcony could not be secured and the safe would not work. On bringing this the attention of the staff they were kind but offered no alternative. The group dinner on the first night was lovely, as we anticipated, but was less than average on the second night.

Although the hotel is slightly dated. It is very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing and the breakfast was excellent.

This establishment is a bit « in the middle of nowhere » and this is precisely why I recommend it. I use it as a convenient stop-over when traveling to Brittany (half way between Paris and Brest) or for an extended weekend stay when I want to get away from it all. Prefer the “Pavilion des Bois” which are very confortable suites that are good value for the money. There’s a heated indoor pool, and an outdoor one too, weather permitting. The restaurant is top notch. But with the town of Bagnoles de l’Orne nearby, you have a wide variety of restaurants to choose from just minutes away if French gastronomy is not your thing. Finally, this a a great place if you’re traveling with your dog.

Ok, the restaurant is closed on Mondays. But does that mean the hotel has to be dead? The welcome was perfunctory, the woman clearly had more important things to do. The 'pavillion' did not convince us as te luxury retreat we had expected. Breakfast was frugal. More staff than food.

While a little close to the coast to make an ideal first night in France for those on a leisurely schedule this is an splendid place to stay. While our bedroom was slightly old-fashioned and the lift is definitely old style French Hotel this did not detract from the Manoir’s charm. The Manoir is in a wooded area just out of town and is set in a delightful garden with some very interesting plants. The public rooms (which are not in the least old-fashioned) have good views over the garden. The staff are very friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our dinner (though you probably have to like mushrooms) and the wine list is very interesting. Breakfast was spectacular with an amazing range of home-made items ( I have never seen my husband eat chocolate cake for breakfast before) and meant lunch was not required. Overall definitely five star

We had one of the wooden lodges as took our small dog with us and this gave us more space and kept away from the main hotels. The staff were fantastic and the grounds and location were great if staying with a dog. Very pet friendly, even for breakfast and in the restaurant. Had become a little tatty in places, no doubt due to lack of use during covid but this was understandable and gardener etc were working to catch up. Nothing to take away from our experience.

Lovely property with a fantastic restaurant. Maybe a smidgen dated in places and the wifi in the rooms isn’t the best but that’s a minor gripe (I think the positioned the access points wrongly!).

Having looked at the pictures on the internet, we were expecting a family run property that had been relatively recently updated. We made a last minute reservation for a room in the main building, as we were only here for a single night didn't think we needed a larger room. On entering the property, it is very apparent that it is old fashioned, but old fashioned can mean charming and the best of hospitality, but that definitely wasn't the case here. We were shown to the room by the receptionist which was on the 2nd floor, with access to the 1st floor by lift and then something of a wander through a rabbit warren of corridors to reach the room. The decor of the room could best be described as unusual, although it would have been fine for one night. We then looked at the bathroom which was at best 1980s vintage, and not a good one at that! This is just the thing I try to avoid in hotels. We quickly hotfooted it back down to reception to try and change room. We ended up being offered one of their pavilion rooms. The full supplement was charged for this and at EUR 255 including breakfast doesn't exactly represent great value. This room is located in a newer building (everything is relative), although it has also clearly seen better days. As the name attests, it is pavillion like in nature, and the interior has some nice interior design touches such as solid shutters that fold back flush into the walls, as well as some not so nice ones such as the Jackson Pollock inspired (and I use this description very loosely) painting on the headboard above the bed. The worst thing, the tired decor aside, was that the room was cold. It is late November, although relatively mild for this time of year, with no frost on the ground, so it certainly is not exceptional weather. Even with the heating on full blast, and the heating is from fan heaters, so it is noisy, like having a hairdryer on, the room didn't really get that warm. When it came to trying to sleep, we had to choose between the room being cold or trying to sleep downdraft of a jet engine so we chose the former. The bathroom, with the small towel rail on max, never got warm either. In full on winter, make sure you bring your skiwear! The best thing about the hotel was the breakfast, which was all homemade from high quality produce. It was a great start to the day. The whole ethos of this place feels stuck in the past, perhaps the best example of this is this little vignette. On the day of departure we were heading to Calais, and because of timings, wanted to leave at 11.30. Check-out is at 11, again a charming relic of the past, so we asked if we could have the room for an extra half hour. The response was "check-out is at 11", although they did extend it for us by 30 minutes. If you want to experience all that was bad about hospitality in the 20th century, then this place is almost a perfectly preserved time capusle of that era, both physically and in the style of the service. Unless you are str
