Guest UserMy most delightful surprise when visiting Linfen was staying at the Ancient City Courtyard Museum Hotel. It's not a replica of ancient buildings, but rather three authentic Ming and Qing dynasty courtyards that have been relocated and restored, making it a living museum you can actually stay in. I spent four days and three nights here, truly slowing down to absorb the unique and profound atmosphere of the Pingyang region.
The courtyards feature bluestone slabs, old wooden beams, and brick-carved screen walls, with every detail revealing traces of time. Beneath its ancient exterior, the interior is incredibly comfortable, with all modern amenities. The bedding and toiletries are of high quality, and the ancient courtyards offer excellent soundproofing, ensuring a quiet and serene environment, far from the city's hustle and bustle. The butler service is meticulous and thoughtful, and they patiently explain the history behind the courtyards.
By day, I explored ancient architectural treasures like Guangcheng Temple, Xiaoxitian, and Fotou Temple, searching for national heritage sites in Southern Shanxi, admiring murals and ancient sculptures, and feeling the awe-inspiring ancient civilization. By night, I returned to this grand courtyard, stepping into a gentle and tranquil past. If you're visiting Linfen to explore historical sites, this hotel is highly recommended. It truly elevates the travel experience, and I would choose to stay here again on my next visit to Linfen.

Guest UserThe room was spotlessly clean and tidy, well-ventilated and brightly lit, and the bedding was exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast included staples like milk, eggs, millet porridge, steamed buns, and a few small side dishes. There's ample parking right in front of the guesthouse for several cars. The guesthouse boasts an excellent location, just a few minutes' walk from the Yunchu Mountain Scenic Area ticket entrance and also very close to its main parking lot. There are several restaurants nearby. We tried Jiudama Sichuan Cuisine, recommended by the owner, and it was absolutely delicious. The guesthouse owner was incredibly hospitable and attentive. He was very knowledgeable about the Yunchu Mountain Scenic Area and offered us many excellent sightseeing tips. He even went out of his way to drive me to the scenic area's parking lot to charge my car, and the next morning, he personally drove us back to pick it up. He truly runs his guesthouse with exceptional care and dedication.

Anonymous UserFacilities: Very good. The 1.8-meter bed room is large enough, with a sofa and coffee table, and a small balcony. The rooms next to each other cannot see each other unless the side curtains are opened. The slippers are of a kind that can be worn for a period of time. The quality is considered Very good. The slippers used for bathing are very clean and new. The details are great! The room is fully intelligent and has a skylight so you can see the starry sky, right above the bed. It's basically at the top of the mountain. It is only a few dozen meters away from the highest point. There is a car to pick you up the mountain. I also saw some people driving up. The hotel has a large viewing platform which is also very good. There are a lot of bugs in summer. Another way to go up the mountain is to take a ferry, but you have to walk a lot of climbing and stairs. But I also experienced it. It’s such a feeling of enlightenment. If you don’t have children, the ferry would be beautiful.
Hygiene: The glass is very bright, the room does not smell of smoke, the toilet does not smell of sewer, the toilet is smart, the sink has no water stains, there is a wooden comb in a gift bag, and the slippers are placed in a sealed bag , extremely clean.
Environment: You can see the stars while lying on the bed. From the small outdoor balcony, you can see the lights of Jishan Town in the distance, listen to the rain and watch the sunrise and sunset. The cool breeze blowing on the hotel platform has a nice view of the mountain top. There are just a lot of bugs. Be sure to bring mosquito repellent. After all, there are many trees and grass, and there are all kinds of little black bugs. The food we eat is most inconsistent with the national conditions. I feel that the sausages and chips are not as good as our fried dough sticks, tofu, pancakes and other Chinese breakfasts. Eating here always feels bland, just what kids like. However, it is understandable that it may be difficult to transport food in the mountains. I recommend the grilled fish for dinner and the shrimp and eggs for lunch. These two are particularly delicious.
Service: There are free tickets and ferry tickets for the ropeway🚡, but I didn’t know about it carefully before going. I wanted to experience the ropeway with my children, but I didn’t expect that the ropeway is still a long way from the hotel. Walking and carrying the baby up and down even though it is a horizontal translation, it can be tiring. dead. It is tiring to let children experience the ice cave. After all, it is a mountain. Even if there is a ferry ropeway, it still takes more than half an hour to walk with children.
The overall feeling is that of comfort and relaxation.

Accommodations around Yunqiushan Scenic Area are mainly homestays, with the best quality ones concentrated in Kangjiaping Village, less than six kilometers from the park entrance. Many trendy restaurants are also clustered here. However, considering that the Wannian Ice Cave and Nuoerpo Ancient Village, which I planned to visit the next day, both require a shuttle bus from the park entrance, after some deliberation, I ultimately chose the Novotel Yunqiushan Hotel located inside the scenic area.
As our vehicle entered the hotel's private parking lot within the park gates, the surrounding environment immediately convinced everyone in my group that I had made the right choice. Even more delightful was the warm and thoughtful service at the front desk. Upon learning that we were travelers from afar, they directly upgraded us to a mountain-view suite for free. Opening the window revealed a lush green mountain vista, and this unexpected pleasant surprise instantly melted away the fatigue of our journey. When they heard we initially planned to find food in Kangjiaping Village, the staff immediately offered complimentary shuttle service. However, as dusk was setting in and everyone was genuinely tired from traveling, we decided to dine at the hotel restaurant instead, allowing us to rest earlier and properly refuel.
Perhaps it was extreme hunger, but every dish that day tasted exceptionally delicious. It wasn't until only half a tail of the steamed sea bass was left that I suddenly remembered I forgot to take photos of the food! Fortunately, I clearly remembered the names of several signature dishes. The four of us ordered four dishes: the hotel's specialty Braised Pork Belly, aromatic Alfalfa Stir-fry with Pork, fresh and tender Steamed Sea Bass, and a refreshing seasonal vegetable dish. I was surprised by how amazing the hotel restaurant's culinary skills were. The Alfalfa Stir-fry with Pork was perfectly savory and well-seasoned with plenty of ingredients. I had worried that the steamed sea bass in a northern hotel wouldn't be as good as those prepared by southern chefs, but after tasting it, I found the texture and flavor to be on par – fresh, not fishy, and wonderfully tender. And the Braised Pork Belly truly lived up to its 'signature dish' reputation, with a perfect balance of lean and fatty meat, soft, flavorful, and melting in your mouth without being greasy. The bill after dinner came out to just over a hundred per person, which was a truly pleasant surprise for such value for money. I genuinely recommend it to friends planning a trip to Yunqiushan!
After dinner, we took a leisurely stroll along the hotel's pathway. The evening breeze in the mountains carried the fragrant scent of grass and trees, which was incredibly pleasant. Back in the room, the spacious and comfortable area, elegantly styled furniture, and a soft, skin-friendly king-size bed, combined with the unique tranquility of the mountain night, allowed us to shed all fatigue and quickly fall into a sweet slumber.
Setting off for Nuoerpo Ancient Village and Wannian Ice Cave the next day, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the scenic area's shuttle bus stop was right outside the hotel, making travel extremely convenient without any extra rushing. Even more thoughtful, the hotel allowed us to check out after 2 PM, so after our visit, we could return to the room to rest and rejuvenate before calmly continuing our journey. This considerate service added even more charm to our Yunqiushan trip.

Guest UserThis one has to be praised! The owner and his wife were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Their elderly parents, who have poor teeth, specially prepared steamed egg custard for breakfast. It was delicious and felt like home! They proactively helped us plan the most cost-effective itinerary, and parking was safe and convenient. When the air conditioning wasn't working properly at night, they immediately opened another room for us, which was truly cozy. We had a blast and had a wonderful stay. I'll be back next year! I wish the owner and his wife continued success and prosperity!

The hotel is located in a bustling area in the city center, with convenient transportation and parking. There are large supermarkets, small convenience stores, restaurants and leisure places around it. The hotel's price is very favorable and cost-effective. The service provided is very warm and thoughtful, which makes me feel very comfortable and satisfied.
The hotel room was very clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable, which allowed me to get a good rest when I was tired. The hotel staff are very friendly and enthusiastic, which makes me feel very cordial and caring.
The hotel's breakfast is very rich, with a wide variety of fruits and drinks. You can squeeze your own fruit and vegetable juice, which is a healthy, delicious and nutritious breakfast. I especially recommend everyone to stay here. It's a very satisfying experience!

Guest UserIt was the quietest night I stayed in during my trip. I never expected that there would be such a B&B in the valley of Shanxi. There is also a restaurant open at 9pm. Although the staff have not received long-term training, you can see the simple folk customs of farmers from them. The room furnishings and supplies are comparable to those of homestays in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. The scenery is indeed a unique valley style in the north. Not far away are some cultural relics in the village and the ruins of old cave dwellings. The evaluation of picking chrysanthemums under the eastern fence and seeing Nanshan leisurely is also in line with

I booked a stay at Yishengyisu, and they offer two room types: a LOFT and a standard room with a balcony. I arrived quite early in the morning, and the front desk told me they had reserved the LOFT for me. However, when I checked in, the front desk didn't say anything and just gave me a standard room with a balcony instead 🫤. I was really looking forward to the LOFT room type. Plus, there were cigarette butts on the room's balcony from the previous guest. Aside from that, the environment, dining, and hot springs in Kangjiaping Village were all pretty good. Overall, I'd rate the environment 5 stars, and the front desk 4 stars.

The hotel's service was okay, but the paint on the walls of the room was peeling off, and the toilet in the bathroom was terrible. It didn't match the room rate at all, and it was a waste of such a large hotel. The parking was convenient, but many of the floor tiles were broken. I will definitely not choose this hotel again next time. Also, the bathroom on the first floor was terrible, but I forgot to take a picture.
