Then we were taken to Zhuangyuan Tower! In southern Fujian, there's a Mid-Autumn Festival tradition of playing the game of ”bo bing” (a card game)! I was immediately tempted to win! Zhuangyuan! 🏮! What captivated me most was that the room number I liked was the same as my phone number, 777. 🏮 Everything was perfect. 😌 This is truly a simple, peaceful village, devoid of any commercial atmosphere! It's even produced many celebrities! It's really a great place to produce talents! The Cai family ancestral hall of Chinese writers and calligraphers is here! The mountain road is long ~ it's really worth a visit! The boss lady and the boss are also very nice people. Their home is at the highest peak! Life is about climbing to the highest peak! I'd heard about the new five-star hotel in Taining and was really impressed upon arrival! The hotel is built into the mountainside, with the lobby and restaurant on the 7th floor. The guest rooms all overlook the lake, offering lake views that cascade down the hillside, somewhat reminiscent of the Shanghai Sheshan Wonderland Hotel – very unique. The rooms are spacious and well-designed, with a large bathtub in the bathroom – I loved it! The bathroom also features a separate shower and toilet. It was a wonderful vacation with my best friend. The hotel was clean and tidy, and the service was attentive. The air conditioning was pre-set for dinner, making it warm and cozy in the freezing Taining. For lunch, we ordered a simple meal at the restaurant. The food was delicious, especially the fried rice and the mixed fruit and pork belly – a perfect combination. The staff and chef even came to check on our preferences, which was very thoughtful. I forgot to take a picture of the afternoon's special 9.9 yuan coffee, but it was such a great deal! The coffee was authentic and incredibly fragrant, and it even came with a glutinous rice cake – such a high-value meal! I'm worried they might be losing money. 😘💪 In short, this trip to Bajian was totally worth it! 👍👍👍

This time, my friend set a parent-child room. 4 people lived in a very comfortable room. The beds were quite big. There were prepared hot tea, fruit, tea set, drying racks, charging cables, etc. in the room, which was very convenient. We booked a 38-square-meter family room, but stayed in a 10-square-meter room. The inn didn't have an elevator, and climbing up was a bit of a struggle for us, a 70-year-old. The bathroom didn't have a toilet, just a squat toilet, and getting up after squatting was a struggle. Showering was done with the toilet lid on top, which was tiny. The shower head couldn't be adjusted, so we had to hold it up with our hands to wash. We had originally planned to stay and not move, but had no choice but to find another hotel. This one listed online as 25 square meters, but it was more than double the 38-square-meter size! I wish all businesses would operate with integrity.

Nice hotel, right in the most attractive part of Taining town. It's a few minutes walk from the historic district, right on the river front. Easy access also to get to the natural scenic areas of the region. The hotel itself is nice, clean, well-maintained. The room is spacious and has modern features. The staff is very helpful, they do their best to accommodate a laowai customer. The only critique I have that is true for the vast majority of the hotels in China that the breakfast isn't exactly attractive for foreigners. One can of course eat Chinese breakfast with steamed buns and spicy soups and things like that most of the time, but occasionally I wouldn't mind to have a western style option available too. In a four star hotel I would expect this to be on the menu

This hotel around the other courtyard has good value for money. Although it is a bit far from the villa, about 7 kilometers away, the closest one is about 3 kilometers away, so you need to drive anyway. The advantage here is that the room has a lake view, Dajin Lake is right at the doorstep, and parking is convenient. It is adjacent to the ticket office of Dajinhu Scenic Area, and it is also beautiful for a walk in the evening and convenient to Ganluyan Temple. There is a laundry and drying room on the roof.

Among hotels in the same price range, this is definitely a top performer! The room was much larger than I expected, the bedding was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom had no unpleasant odors. Although it's a budget hotel, the service wasn't compromised at all; the receptionist was warm and attentive, and even upgraded my room for free. There are many snack options nearby, making it convenient for evening dining and shopping. I'd definitely stay here again next time!
