We had a very lovely time at Casa de Lipe. We even got engaged here so we will certainly be coming back.
Pros:
The staff are the loveliest people on Planet Earth
No loud music at any time, very quiet
Sensational food and service, very smiley staff ready to help with anything
Private beach is a real bonus
The setting is fabulous. Among the rainforest and with the sound of the sea rocking you to sleep
Epic sunsets
Great breakfasts
Cons (being really picky):
The air con unit in our room was a bit loud
The pool in our room (honeymoon villa) was a little bit smaller than I expected
The decor could be updated
We’ll be coming back here time and time again for sure. Thank you Casa de Lipe for making our time on Koh Lipe very memorable!

The scenery here is absolutely beautiful. We were lucky enough to see blue tears at night by the beach, which was such a magical experience. In the morning, you can also catch a stunning sunrise right from the resort — truly peaceful and breathtaking. The service was excellent — all the staff were friendly and always smiling, which made us feel very welcomed. The room was spacious and very clean, and the shower had strong water pressure, which we really appreciated.
The resort is located on a cliff, so there are quite a number of stairs to climb. However, the staff will help carry your luggage all the way to your room, which made the arrival much easier.
However, since the room is designed as a wooden bungalow, it gets very hot during midday. Even with the air conditioning on, the cool air doesn’t reach the bed area effectively, so the bed still feels warm. Turning on the fan actually makes it worse, as it blows the heat from the roof downwards, making the room feel even hotter.
Overall, it’s a lovely place with great service and stunning views, but the room temperature during the day could definitely be improved.

The hotel boasts an excellent location with breathtaking views. However, the only downside is the absence of a communal swimming pool. Private pools are exclusively available with pool-access rooms; standard rooms do not have them. For vacationers, please note that breakfast is à la carte when booking. In the evenings, there are several spots right next to the hotel perfect for enjoying a drink while watching the sunset. It offers excellent value for money, being slightly more affordable than Ilyn and just over a hundred meters away in terms of location.

alinnaFirst, let's talk about the facilities. The room size was perfect for two people, and the big bed was very comfortable. Both the floor and bathroom were wooden, which was quite slippery when wearing slippers on rainy days. The biggest drawback was the lack of sufficient hot water for showering. After spending all day in the water, I was really looking forward to a hot shower in the evening, but the water was always cold and the water pressure was very low. I didn't bother complaining to the hotel, though, as fresh water is scarce on Koh Lipe, so I understand.
Hygiene: The hygiene was actually quite good. Considering it's on a hillside, and there are bound to be bugs, I was pretty satisfied with how clean it was.
Environment: The hotel is made up of individual villas, which offers a good level of independence and privacy. It was incredibly quiet at night. The nights I stayed there, it rained heavily with thunder and lightning every day, but the next morning the air was fresh and the sun was bright, which was truly wonderful.
Service: Overall, the service was great, especially the room service and the staff who came to light mosquito coils; they were all very polite.
One of the best things was that my pool villa faced an uninhabited island. It was only about a fifteen-minute kayak ride away, and the snorkeling there was absolutely beautiful! There were all sorts of small fish underwater, perfect for a beginner like me. I even learned how to use a snorkeling mask and a snorkel there. The hotel's beach was a bit small, but the sand was very white and fine, better than anywhere else on the island.

WasabiRThe location is probably the biggest plus here. It's right by the pier when you get off the boat in Koh Lipe, so you can walk straight there. They even help with luggage, so you just stroll along! The pool area is quite large, good for swimming. There are several restaurants and bars to suit different tastes.
**Cleanliness:** We left a tip every day, so the room was cleaned pretty well.
**Ambiance:** The hotel is right next to Walking Street, which is a big plus for anyone who loves shopping. The ocean outside is beautiful, despite a lot of boats coming and going; it's just not very quiet.
**Service:** The service was truly terrible. The front desk staff clearly treated Chinese guests differently. We came during the low season, so the occupancy was very low, but they gave us a deluxe pool access room in the furthest corner, quite a distance from the main pool view. I've heard they only give Chinese guests the 'tail end' rooms, and I certainly experienced it! The front desk staff were also quite impatient when we asked questions, and the tuk-tuk they helped us call was more expensive than ones we found ourselves. I really can't complain enough about the service here! All the other hotels we stayed at on the island had much better service. There wasn't even a welcome treat for my birthday, which other places provided!

I really enjoyed our stay jt was low season so nice and quiet but still a good atmosphere. Rooms were comfortable, we booked two but could have managed with one room with a 9 and 12 year old. Everything worked , the internet was decent. Gardens and greenery lovely spot. Breakfast was fairly standard for this type of accommodation. Nice fresh fruit eggs, bacon, pancakes , waffles and Asian options, eaten with a nice view of the sea. Location at end of beach but close to walking street. We tended to walk to North point and get a taxi scooter back for 50b. Food on island was good. Coffee from tugboat needs a mention. Island overall is beautiful and has a really nice vibe at present hopefully it doesn't get over developed. North point is a lovely area which still has it's natural beauty.

Ben GawithAbsolutely brilliant.
The staff were there to pick us up off the boat and take us straight to the hotel, really easy check in and the place was lovely.
The Anda Lipe staff really made our stay. When asked if they could help out with decorating the room for my partners birthday, they went above and beyond and really made the day special and decorated the room lovely.
The breakfast was great, lots of options. The free coffee all day is a really nice touch. The room was comfy, spacious and well equipped.
Overall, the stay was amazing. Would really recommend to anyone coming to Koh Lipe.

We stayed 5 nights at Akira Lipe Resort and 3 nights at Mali Sunrise Beach Resort.
Although Mali Resort was more expensive, overall Akira Resort was much better in almost every aspect. In terms of cleanliness, swimming pool condition, facilities, and staff friendliness, I honestly don’t understand why Mali charges a higher price.
Sunrise Beach itself was beautiful, and we appreciated the complimentary kayak rental. Breakfast was also very good.
However, there were some serious issues. The bedding was not properly maintained — while the outer cover looked clean, the inner duvet was yellowed and visibly stained underneath.
Most concerning was the swimming pool. The pool water was visibly dirty even to the naked eye. After spending a long time swimming, both my husband and my child developed skin rashes and suffered from severe stomach problems. They had been swimming, diving, and accidentally swallowing some pool water. I did not swim at all, and I was completely fine, while both of them experienced the same symptoms. This strongly suggests that the pool hygiene needs urgent improvement.
I visited in early February during peak season. Pattaya Beach, where Akira Resort is located, was calm, wave-free, and much more enjoyable for swimming and relaxing. Sunrise Beach, although beautiful, had very strong waves, making it less suitable for playing in the water.
That said, kayaking to the small island directly in front of the resort for snorkeling was an amazing experience. This is definitely one of Mali Resort’s biggest advantages.
Some of the restaurant staff were warm and kind, but most of the staff, including those at reception, appeared tired and expressionless.
Overall, I personally do not think this resort offers good value for the price and would not recommend it.
For the same budget, I would strongly suggest staying at Akira instead.

Without internet, the hotel's location was very difficult to find. Other than that, everything was good. For this price, it's fine for a couple of nights. The room was clean and had something like a large balcony.

The hotel was chosen based on its relatively low price and location. The hotel has seen a lot in its time: a padlock on the front door, cracks in the floor, sockets that are extremely loose, unobtrusive service. However, enough of the negative. Quite good breakfasts, proximity to the sea, good attitude of the staff level out the negative. Try it!
