"Absolutely not worth the price. I first stayed at the 4-star October next door, then moved to the 5-star Elin, and honestly, the service and food at October were far superior to Elin. The staff at Elin were cold and unwelcoming, or maybe that's just how they treat Chinese guests, because they were all smiles and bowing when interacting with Westerners. On the first day, we arrived for breakfast around 9:45 AM, and many items were gone with no one replenishing them. The next day, we arrived around 8 AM, and the fresh milk was sour. We called a staff member to take it away, but no one came to apologize or follow up. My friend woke up the second morning with many red bites all over his body, likely from insects. P.S. The pool was incredibly dirty! Overall, it was a complete mess. This is my first time leaving a negative hotel review. It's really bad, definitely avoid this place!"

"Room: Clean and nice. Breakfast: Good, tasty. Service: Restaurant staff were very good, but the front desk receptionists need to improve their service attitude and smiles. Location: A 1-minute walk to Walking Street, right next door. The border checkpoint is also next door, so the location is very convenient. A welcome drink upon arrival was a nice touch, especially since it was hot – the cold towel and drink were perfect! 👍 The pool with a pool bar is also great. Overall, everything was very good."

"The most breathtaking part of my stay at Akira was undoubtedly opening the balcony door to find the hotel's iconic 100-meter pool almost at my feet. The azure water seamlessly merged with the beach just a few steps away, inviting me to jump in for a swim at any moment – an unparalleled feeling of connection and freedom. Waking up, I enjoyed a plentiful breakfast right at the poolside restaurant. The Pad Thai and freshly made omelets were delicious, and with the pool and sea views right in front of me, the holiday vibes were instantly maximized. While the room itself was a bit minimalistic, this unique 'pool-just-outside-my-window' experience is reason enough to visit again."

"Bundhaya Villas ruined my trip!!! I urge everyone intending to go to Koh Lipe and enjoy a nice vacation far away from the daily stress that most of us having to NOT consider staying with Bundhaya Villas. After having spent an absolutely wonderful week at another luxury resort in the neighborhood, I needed to go to another hotel because I did not book long enough in advance. Apparently, Bundhaya Villas has the same owner as the other one I stayed in before and it was recommended to me by the very friendly service desk. I enjoyed a good breakfast at said other resort and transferred to Bundhaya shortly after noon. Having arrived there, I checked in, the room was nothing you could compare with the other resort (especially for that price: 6000 bath in the second half of November), but good enough. First thing I did was going to the pool and making use of the happy hour buy 1 get 1 free deal. The first one I enjoyed at the pool. Afterwards, I went into the ocean snorkeling, Worth mentioning that snorkeling equipment was 50 bath compared to free of charge in the other resort before. After returning, I spent time at the beach side and enjoyed my second beer from mentioned deal. Here were the first problems. They tried to charge me for a second time although the barkeeper at the pool confirmed I could have had the second glass at the beach. Apparently, that wasn't their policy and I had to go back and forth to solve this kindergarten issue. After the last discussion at the front desk, I asked for my welcome drink (which wasn't ready when I got there). So far, so good. Later that day, I wanted to go to the city to get something to eat as all I consumed over the day was the breakfast at the other resort, two beers, and the welcome drink. Walking to the city at around 7 PM, I noticed that I wasn't feeling too well. A few meters in the walking street, I had to return and literally run back to my room. What followed was a nightmare that came to life! I literally had the worst diarrhea I have ever had in my entire life, needed to go to the bathroom at least 15 times that night. Adding to that, I was vomiting multiple times, severe night sweat, everything was just painful. I tried to call their emergency number that had told me during check-in and I was not able to get through! Same as with the reception desk number. I was literally dying multiple deaths in my room, I was too weak to walk downstairs or do anything else and was left alone in severe pain. The next day, I was to leave Koh Lipe. Ahead of me was a bumpy speed boat trip of 1.5 hours, a van ride of 2 hours, waiting time of 2 hours at the airport, 1.5 hours flight, and another 1.5 hours to get to my next hotel. All of that WITHOUT any sleep, the wildest nausea, and almost no breakfast - of course I didn't dare to eat anything but fruits. Having stated my story to the reception desk manager Hwa Hwa, they arranged a quick hospital visit (5 minutes) before bringing me to the speed boat pier. I rightfully complained about everything at trip.com but Bundhaya Village was not willing to compensate anything! True liars, disrespectful, and unprofessional people who do not care about their guests AT ALL. Needless to say that this experience ruined my trip. It was the first vacation I took in six years, I wanted to treat myself as fine as I possibly could and then I got ripped off a ridiculous amount of money for being poisoned and treated like garbage. Thank you, Bundhaya Villas. Please. Do. Not. Stay. There! There are loads of nice luxury resorts on Koh Lipe. Bundhaya disqualified for everything! I am still raging when thinking about their audacity! No refund, no nothing!"

"It was okay. The sea view was truly beautiful, but the soundproofing in the room was terrible. The room was right above the restaurant, so every day there were crowds of people passing by, laughing, playing, and taking photos. It felt like sleeping on the street, it was so noisy. We even booked the most expensive room type, and it was surprisingly right on the main road, which is pretty outrageous. I don't really understand it. This was the worst value for money hotel of the trip."

"We stayed at the Jacuzzi Villa with an ocean view, and the view was indeed stunning. However, the bar was closed during this season, which was a bit disappointing since there weren’t any other options for drinks or music at night. The staff was friendly, but there’s room for improvement. For example, the room service had to pay directly, and we couldn’t add it to the room bill. We also had to request a replacement for the beer on the mini-bar, but they only brought us the exact number of beers we had requested. To top it off, they charged us almost double the mini-bar price for each beer."

"A great resort with good setup inside, and direct beach access. Room is standard for the island, expect 3-star standard. However the staff members are not very friendly. When I went to ask them questions, they basically questioned me why I do not know where to find things etc. Weird. The staff members at the bar/restaurant area were even rude. Funny though that when several white European guests approach them, they are much more friendly, smiling and asking how their visit has been. When I approached them, they just looked at me with no smile: “what do you want?”"

"I stayed in Room 7, which was a split-level room. Upon entering, there was a small living room. To the left, a door led to the rooftop via stairs, and to the right was the bathroom. Down three steps was the bedroom itself. Regarding the room type, the pros were: the room was very spacious, the bathroom was large, and the balcony was huge – perfect for drying clothes. It was also closer to the Dragging Tail Beach, offering a prime ocean view, and the minibar was complimentary. The cons were: The shower only had a rainfall head, with no handheld option. (Though, after four nights, I didn't find this to be a major issue.) The toilet flush wasn't very powerful. The sofa was broken, with all three backrests unable to stay upright. The hairdryer wasn't wall-mounted, and I found an enormous cockroach in the bamboo basket where it was stored – thankfully, I managed to kill it. Pictures 1 and 2 were taken from the rooftop."

The cons were a construction, it is low season and they enjoy to do renovations, so there was a balsa in front of the hotel most of the days, the pool area was partially covered due the construction and lots of noise through out the day. It seems they were open partially, the restaurant area was not working and seemed to be like a deposit, messy for the only common area that is beach front. I would not stay there again and totally search for other hotels with breakfast included and with a better infrastructure, for almost the same price."

"I liked this place, like grandma's in the village. The house looks cheerful, simple inside, but the air conditioning is excellent, the water heater works, the water pressure is good. 2 bottles of water every day. Excellent breakfast, delicious, a lot, appetizingly served! The location is right on the beach, a nice small pool, a view of the ocean at breakfast. Perfectly working Wi-Fi in the cafe area by the pool, calls, files, everything without problems. A good beach is 100 meters to the left, the bottom is sandy, there are fewer boats there."

"The room was a bit dated. I'm not sure if the hotel was fully booked, but we were assigned a pool villa with a sea view that was somewhat obstructed compared to other room types. Our room was in the upper-level area, so the walk to the beach and back was quite long. It was so tiring that we didn't even want to leave the room for a second round! Overall, the experience was a bit disappointing. Fortunately, the room itself was comfortable and clean. My kids had a great time playing in the pool and on the beach. However, the hotel's cliffside restaurant was also a letdown. While the scenery was superb for photos, the food quality was truly mediocre. In particular, the signature lobster was a real miss – it was bland and the shrimp meat was overcooked. The taste was very disappointing, and the price was a bit high, making it not worth recommending. On the positive side, the hotel breakfast was decent, and the in-room dining experience was also very good. How should I put it? These 'influencer-hyped' hotels aren't for long stays; it's fine to experience them once, as long as you manage your expectations for any potential letdowns!"

"The location might be a bit difficult and far to get to (it's best to use the island's taxi service, which costs 50฿/person per trip, regardless of distance), but you get a lot of privacy, which I liked. It's peaceful and not chaotic. I found geckos and millipedes in the room area (I'm not scared or bothered by them, just mentioning it for other guests who might feel uncomfortable if they encounter them). I mentioned wanting to go kayaking, but I think it was after the rain, so there was no staff to assist me there. I carried the kayak down from storage myself and picked out the paddle and life jacket. For these reasons, I'm giving a 4/5. However, the staff were lovely and very friendly. Thank you for taking care of us! ☺️"

"Pros: The breakfast was incredibly delicious and varied. They even had salmon belly at the buffet, which was very fresh, and the breakfast menu changed daily – easily the best on the island. The front desk staff provided cheerful service throughout our stay and were very welcoming. It's quite close to the beach; even though our room was the furthest away, we still reached the beach in 5 minutes by following the downhill path shown in the picture to the sandbank. The surroundings were very quiet. Cons: The room facilities were incredibly old and dated. There was an ant colony inside the bathroom wall, with large numbers of ants crawling up and down a fixed route in the corner from morning till night (but they stayed confined to that one area), so we dared not leave any food uncovered. The bathroom door was translucent and had no curtains, so it became very bright as soon as the sun rose, which meant my travel companion didn't get a good night's sleep."
