I stayed at this hotel for two nights. Everything was good, the grounds were pleasant, everything was clean, and the rooms were clean and all wood-paneled. You really feel that authentic Thai island vibe. The only thing missing in the room was a bathrobe and a dental kit. It's a long walk to 7-Eleven; I could have called a motorcycle taxi, of course, but it would be better if these kits were provided in the rooms. Luckily, I happened to have dental kits from previous hotels in my suitcase. The hotel has its own beach. One beach has a sandy entry, no rocks, but for some reason, the water there was always a bit murky. The second has rocks, but you can walk through them a little and then swim and snorkel comfortably. There are sun loungers right there, and a hotel cafe too. They have happy hour from 4 PM to 6 PM, which I took advantage of. My biggest disappointment was breakfast. There was a selection of pancakes and toast, which I rarely eat, as well as three Thai dishes, and you couldn't order from the menu in the morning. Basically, I stayed hungry 😬. Breakfast is important to me; it's about strength and energy, especially when you have an active vacation with swimming all day. However, the view from the room was simply beautiful. If you want peace and quiet, get one of the bungalows higher up. Otherwise, it's quiet everywhere unless your neighbors start getting rowdy on their balconies 😄. I forgot to add that the sunrise was something else; I could see it from my room too, but on the second day, I went down to the beach to watch it.

Out of the four hotels I stayed at during my 9-day trip to Koh Lipe, this one was by far the best. None of them were cheap, but the worst service was definitely at the Aareen (the hotel next door). They have an 11 AM checkout and 2 PM check-in, so you have to just hang around and keep asking if your room is ready after 2 PM. Not at this hotel though – they had me checked in within 10 minutes of arrival! I had booked different room types for my two-day stay since the same room wasn't available, and they were super quick with the room change. I didn't have to wait until 2 PM; they just moved me right away. The food was also delicious here; I ate there for two days straight. After six days of eating on Walking Street, I just couldn't stomach it anymore. The food at the other hotels was particularly bad, but Casa's food not only had a great ambiance, but it was also the best I've ever tasted.

This bungalow-style resort by Sunset Beach is really lovely. The check-in deposit is just 100 THB. I really enjoyed the hotel's layout—it's only a five-minute walk to a 7-Eleven, which is super handy. The hotel's beach area is pretty small and often has boats around, so if you'd like to go snorkeling, I'd suggest walking about 10 minutes to the east side of the beach. For calm, beautiful turquoise water, head to the north tip of the island—it's about 30 minutes from the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort offers massage services, a diving club, and yoga classes. A quick note on the bungalow I stayed in: there was no hot water, quite a few mosquitoes, and the lighting was fairly dim since it's nestled among gardens and other houses. The hotel also follows an eco-friendly policy to save electricity.

My stay at the Mountain Resort in Koh Lipe was truly an unforgettable experience! Our room was an absolute dream, featuring postcard-perfect ocean views of Koh Lipe that I will surely never forget. What really made this stay so special was the incredible staff. They were exceptionally good and attentive, treating us with a unique blend of respect and genuine affection that made us feel so welcome. The resort's amenities are also fantastic and very convenient. There is a shuttle bus service that takes you up and down the hill, running every 15 minutes during the afternoons, which made getting around effortless. Down at the beach, they have incredibly comfortable hammocks that are absolutely perfect for relaxing by the sea. I cannot recommend this resort enough. An absolutely wonderful experience!

Was a bit far from the main area, and the hotel provided only one shuttle per day. We actually booked a room with a different design and got a completely different room. When we asked to see the other rooms, they showed us rooms with the same design as the first, instead of just saying they renovated the room. We didn’t get any compensation for this inconvenience. Some of the buildings needed renovations. The whole floor around our room was super dirty and disgusting. A lot of stairs in the hotel if you want to go down to the beach and restaurant area. Also was pretty expensive and was not worth the price in my opinion. Pros - very nice breakfast. Gorgeous beach area. Nice staff. Clean room.

Mali Resort Sunrise Beach Koh Lipe

We stayed 5 nights at Akira Lipe Resort and 3 nights at Mali Sunrise Beach Resort. Although Mali Resort was more expensive, overall Akira Resort was much better in almost every aspect. In terms of cleanliness, swimming pool condition, facilities, and staff friendliness, I honestly don’t understand why Mali charges a higher price. Sunrise Beach itself was beautiful, and we appreciated the complimentary kayak rental. Breakfast was also very good. However, there were some serious issues. The bedding was not properly maintained — while the outer cover looked clean, the inner duvet was yellowed and visibly stained underneath. Most concerning was the swimming pool. The pool water was visibly dirty even to the naked eye. After spending a long time swimming, both my husband and my child developed skin rashes and suffered from severe stomach problems. They had been swimming, diving, and accidentally swallowing some pool water. I did not swim at all, and I was completely fine, while both of them experienced the same symptoms. This strongly suggests that the pool hygiene needs urgent improvement. I visited in early February during peak season. Pattaya Beach, where Akira Resort is located, was calm, wave-free, and much more enjoyable for swimming and relaxing. Sunrise Beach, although beautiful, had very strong waves, making it less suitable for playing in the water. That said, kayaking to the small island directly in front of the resort for snorkeling was an amazing experience. This is definitely one of Mali Resort’s biggest advantages. Some of the restaurant staff were warm and kind, but most of the staff, including those at reception, appeared tired and expressionless. Overall, I personally do not think this resort offers good value for the price and would not recommend it. For the same budget, I would strongly suggest staying at Akira instead.

We stayed in the Tree Pool Villa, and our kids absolutely loved it. They kept saying it felt like a real treehouse! The glass roof upstairs was such a nice surprise—we even spent some time looking at the stars before going to bed. They also had so much fun in the private pool. If they weren't there, they were swimming in the main pool or playing on the beach, which is only a short walk from the villa. The beach is honestly beautiful. The water is so clear and such a gorgeous blue. One evening we walked to Sunset Beach to watch the sunset, and it wasn't far at all. The resort was quiet and relaxing, the food was really good, and all the staff were kind and welcoming. Before we left, my husband and I looked at each other and said, ”We have to come back here again.

This hotel has an amazing sense of style — everything feels thoughtfully designed and really stands out. The atmosphere is modern, unique, and super inviting. What truly made the stay special, though, was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and always smiling, which made us feel comfortable from the very first moment. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish place with great service.

I really enjoyed our stay jt was low season so nice and quiet but still a good atmosphere. Rooms were comfortable, we booked two but could have managed with one room with a 9 and 12 year old. Everything worked , the internet was decent. Gardens and greenery lovely spot. Breakfast was fairly standard for this type of accommodation. Nice fresh fruit eggs, bacon, pancakes , waffles and Asian options, eaten with a nice view of the sea. Location at end of beach but close to walking street. We tended to walk to North point and get a taxi scooter back for 50b. Food on island was good. Coffee from tugboat needs a mention. Island overall is beautiful and has a really nice vibe at present hopefully it doesn't get over developed. North point is a lovely area which still has it's natural beauty.

The hotel was chosen based on its relatively low price and location. The hotel has seen a lot in its time: a padlock on the front door, cracks in the floor, sockets that are extremely loose, unobtrusive service. However, enough of the negative. Quite good breakfasts, proximity to the sea, good attitude of the staff level out the negative. Try it!
