You get what you pay for in Bali...and if you're getting this place for about 30 or 40 bucks a night, it's well worth it. A hotel that was probably brilliant back in the day when it cared about itself. Today, the gym festers; once-filled bottles of spirits gather dust on the shelves of the now defunct pool bar; the restaurant sighs a heavy groan of defeat; old stained towels abound and nobody seems to care. The grounds are well maintained, and the pool is small but deep and perfectly adequate to lounge around. Rooms are clean and serviced daily, but placcy dirty pedal bins, peeling paint, dirty grouting, rusty shower heads, and a toilet with a sporadic post-flush runny nose (that they try each day to fix without success) reinforce the overall impression of "run-downness". It's bang in the thick of the action up that end of Seminyakyakyak!and yet when you walk in from the bustle, you arrive in a peaceful setting far from the maddening crowds. Someone should grab it by the scruff of the neck and make it great again. It wouldn't take much...

We stayed in the hotel for 5 nights. It was a good value for the money. Had some issues with bathroom but they quickly solved problems which was good. Location is great for Seminyak but if you will travel touristic places such as Ubud, Uluwatu, Safari, the traffic will be challenging. Pool area is great and they provide towel there.

First of all, the location is the strongest point, and then the price. The facilities are obviously different from 4-5 star hotels, but if you compare everything with the price, the satisfaction level goes up. The check-in counter is open even for early morning arrivals, the pool, fitness center, parking, room cleaning, and friendly staff are all fine. There are also independent two-bedroom villas, not studios or one-bedrooms. If there are more than 4 people staying, the line is the innermost and quietest. I stay at W in Seminyak every year and every half year, and I thought the same about Taman Ayu. Of course, the price is 10 times different, but it is because the location is the same.

Towels and bed linen are grey, damp and it's not clear whether they were washed... our room was not small, but the closet was in the bathroom, apparently this is normal for Bali. Of course, all the clothes that hung in the closet were also damp. Breakfasts are not bad, especially bowlu, but they need to be ordered in advance. The pool is excellent, deep.
