Hotels Near Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok

I booked this hotel for a short stay while I waited for my flight to Japan. The hostel had a café, but most of the customers seemed to be enjoying smoking ****, creating a laid-back atmosphere. Everyone appeared to be having their own peaceful time. The hostel itself was fantastic, offering all the basic facilities, and the rooms were very clean. Overall, it was a great experience at the hostel.

A good location which was walking distance to where we wanted to be but not everyone would be happy with this location. The hotel had everything we needed including a great little rooftop pool and chill area. Great staff, excellent breakfast and everything was perfect for our short two day stay. Recommended!

I recently stayed at Hotel Sapin, and overall, it was a great experience. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable, allowing me to sleep well every night. The hotel also offers free shuttle service to nearby popular attractions. In terms of service, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Whether it was asking for sightseeing recommendations or making special requests, they were always attentive. The breakfast had a wide variety of options, and the food was fresh—several dishes were particularly delicious. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay, and I would definitely consider coming back next time!

I have been waiting so long and looking forward to stay at this newly redeveloped hotel for the last 3-4 years since my last stay back in 10+ years ago……. Still, the service was good, located at most convenient place within Bangkok city centre……and with a magnificent superb view of the Lumphini Park from the guest room…..what a brilliant and fantastic view !!!  The lobby bar as well as the signature 1970 bar at the top floor are among the best in Bangkok apart from The Bamboo Bar at Mandarin Oriental and BKK Social Club at Four Seasons is which I like the most…..highly highly recommended for all of you. Services from staff (all levels of staff) are superb and friendly.  Room for improvement: I’d suggest the management to offer some more leisure sitting facilities near the entrance/front desk for guests (like the Mandarin Oriental) as my wife and I have been standing near the entrance long story waiting for taxi…….though I saw some guests chose to sit on the sofas at the lobby bar…..without ordering drinks……:)) Will definitely revisit this hotel again in near future.

I booked the Oriental Residence Bangkok on Trip.com for a business conference stay and stayed in the one bedroom suite with park view with my partner. I chose the hotel because it appeared less ostentatious than most hotels in that stretch. The Oriental Residence Bangkok is discreet. If you appreciate quiet, solitude and discretion, then this is what you will get during your stay. For travellers who are looking for an adventure or close proximity to a shopping mall, this might not be the place for you. The overall experience at this hotel was fine. It was what was to be expected in a 5-star hotel. The hotel room that we had was spacious and had most of the amenities needed (especially if you are a remote worker who needs to be on your laptop 24/7). The internet is fast and the workspace station comfortable enough to get things done without distraction. The kitchen is fully furnished in the event you need bowls, plates or cups for an inside meal. There is also a decent washer-dryer that can be used if you would like to wash dirty laundry. The hotel also provides twice a day cleaning - one in the mid-afternoon and a turn down service in the evening. Because of this meticulous approach to cleanliness, my allergies were not triggered at all which was definitely a huge thumbs up. I had no issue whatsoever with their bedding and linen. In fact, it was so sleep-friendly that I had a good rest for the entire trip. This is quite something for someone with irregular sleep patterns. The only gripe I had with the hotel was that they were not able to accept a payment deposit without an actual credit card. I had a virtual credit card and barely any cash on hand. However, this is a minor issue and not something that I am particularly miffed about. I have read some of the 1-star reviews with regards to this hotel, and not experienced any of them. If you are a business traveller looking for a quiet and decent 5-star place to stay, this hotel does the job.

The hotel stay experience is great. We were lucky to have our room upgraded when checking in and the suite room was exciting and spacious. Nearby restaurants included a few Thai, Japanese, Italian and Indian food, also Starbucks and some chain stores/supermarkets, all in walking distance. The hotel's own breakfast buffet is also great at affordable price. Gym is nice too. I definitely recommend Holiday Inn Silom to travellers who would like to enjoy cleaniness, concenience and quiet stay.

We had quite a high expectation before our arrival as our previous stays at Movenpick elsewhere were all excellent. Our check-in for 3 rooms at Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok took nearly an hour. The staff who served us was simply doing her job with no smile on her face. We didn't feel the welcoming warmth which we received in other Mövenpick hotels. It seems that we were not the only one having an issue with the reception. Another guest was having what seemed like an argument with another check-in staff. And then, there was no one manning the ice-cream booth at the lobby when we wanted to get our beloved Swiss ice-cream. Although our room was clean, modern and the bed was comfortable, there were a few other issues which you wouldn't expect to find in a 5-star hotel. The safe deposit box was faulty, the hot water in the shower wasn't hot because of faulty plumbing part, water was leaking out of the tiny shower cubicle making the bathroom floor wet all around, the bathtub drain stopper was stuck, the aircon was freezing cold even when we turned the temperature to 28 degrees Celsius because the faulty control...

Friendly reminder: You should take a video when you enter the hotel room and check out in Thailand just in case. This hotel puts a vase in the corner of the extremely narrow TV table on the way in and out of the very small room. It will be broken if you are not careful. It is said that Sima Zhao's intention is known to passers-by. (Although I didn't break it, I saw a compensation list that this broken vase costs 2,500 baht) The decoration of this hotel is relatively exquisite but not practical. The washbasin has no countertop and is too small. There is no place to put toiletries and change clothes. The ordinary room I stayed in the first night was very cramped. There was no place to put the suitcase when it was opened. The toilet smelled very strong, and the toilet exhaust fan was not powerful, and the stench could not be discharged. The store also put a perfume to try to cover up the stench. The fragrance and stench are even worse. The toilet door is closed and not sealed. I woke up alive in the middle of the night. After communicating with the hotel and Ctrip, I upgraded to a deluxe room for free the next day. There was an extra bay window sofa, and it didn't smell anymore. This hotel's ordinary room must not be booked, but the price of the deluxe room is too low cost performance, and there is no breakfast. There are many restaurants near the hotel, and 711 is close, so it is convenient to buy food, but it is far from the subway. You can walk to attractions such as the Grand Palace, so it is not recommended for people with poor legs to book this hotel.

Super spacious and great location, by Asok BTS. Plenty of massage shops around, as well as eateries and convenience shops. The breakfast had a huge range and really good quality. The fitness room was well equipped with dumbbells up to 20kg. The swimming area was well laid out, with enough space between guests.

If you're looking for a budget-friendly option that offers basic amenities, this old but decent hotel could be a solid choice. The building definitely shows its age, with some worn-out furniture and decor that could use an update, but everything is clean enough for a short stay. The staff is friendly and helpful, providing service with a smile. While you won’t find luxury here, the rooms are surprisingly spacious, and the bed is comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. The Wi-Fi is decent, and there’s a basic breakfast available in the morning, which is a nice touch. If you’re not expecting anything fancy and just need a place to crash for a night or two, this hotel fits the bill perfectly for its price.
