"As a solo female traveler, I truly appreciated the hotel’s professional travel information and thoughtful safety reminders. They made me feel well-supported throughout my entire stay in Yangon. The staff were always kind, attentive, and ready to help whenever I had questions about transportation or places to visit. Thanks to their guidance, everything went smoothly and I felt very safe exploring the city on my own. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of options, and the view from the hotel was absolutely beautiful. GGuest UserLocation is basically good but not easy to find shops nearby, Inya lake is just on the opposite side of the road but have to walk long way from the hotel room because the hotel is situated in the inward inlet. There's no water bottle in the room but instead guests have to go to the hallway to use the water server machine, which never gave cold enough water. This is an European hotel and says a lot about eco-friendly or sustainable stuff, but it means downgraded service compared to other hotels run by Korea or Singapore. Breakfast is simply superb and I liked very much.  Overall good hotel but it is recommended those who can sacrifice comfort for the sake of some peculiar things like sustainability.

GGuest UserEverything was excellent, especially the staff. They were very friendly, helpful, and professional throughout my stay. However, I did experience some disappointment regarding the Level Club upgrade. During check-in, the front desk staff strongly encouraged me to upgrade to a Level Club room for an additional USD 40 per day. I was informed that the Level Club was open until 11:00 PM. However, when I visited the Level Club on Level 24, I was told that snacks and drinks were only available until 8:30 PM. After that time, drinks had to be purchased à la carte. I ended up paying USD 6.80 for two cans of Coke. This was quite different from other hotel club privileges I have experienced, where lounges typically operate until midnight and offer complimentary drinks throughout the opening hours without additional charges. The most disappointing experience occurred the following day when I returned to the Level Club and found it completely empty with no staff present. After calling reception, I was informed that the lounge was closed and that I could instead collect snacks from the Level 1 Lounge, which is located in a public area. There was no prior notice given to club guests about this change, and I only found out after making the call. In total, I spent USD 126.80 on the upgrade but was unable to fully enjoy the exclusive privacy and all-inclusive food and beverage benefits that were expected. Unfortunately, this made the upgrade feel not worthwhile. In the future, I would not choose to upgrade again under similar circumstances. I sincerely hope Melia ensures that facilities are fully available before promoting such upgrades to guests. Aside from this issue, the rest of my stay was excellent. The staff’s welcoming demeanor, professionalism, and overall service standards were truly commendable.

KKurzaWe were very happy with the hotel. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, buffet breakfast was good, room service is good. They have a large gym, beautiful pool and the spa is also a great treat. The hotel is located at a good spot with many restaurants and shops around. GGary Joseph HayesReview: The Governor’s Residence, Yangon The Governor’s Residence remains one of Yangon’s most atmospheric and elegant hotels, combining colonial charm with modern comfort. Nestled in a quiet embassy district, the restored teak mansion, once the home of a British colonial governor, immediately impresses with its graceful architecture and tranquil gardens. Approaching through leafy pathways and lotus ponds, guests are welcomed into an oasis that feels far removed from the bustle of downtown Yangon. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, featuring polished teak floors, four-poster beds, and traditional Burmese textiles that reflect the building’s heritage. Balconies overlook either the lush gardens or the inviting fan-shaped swimming pool, creating a sense of calm retreat. The service is consistently warm, professional, and attentive without being intrusive, with staff eager to share local knowledge and assist with arrangements. Dining is a highlight. The open-air restaurant offers refined Burmese and international dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients and presented with flair. Breakfast under the wide verandas, with tropical birdsong in the background, is especially memorable. Afternoon cocktails by the pool or an evening meal by candlelight evoke the romantic grandeur of a bygone era. What sets the Governor’s Residence apart is its atmosphere: it is not simply a hotel but a living reminder of Yangon’s colonial past, reimagined with comfort and grace. Whether visiting on business or leisure, guests leave with a sense of serenity and timeless elegance. For those seeking a blend of history, luxury, and authentic Burmese hospitality, this residence is an exceptional choice.

GGuest UserBefore to visit Myanmar I read many reviews and they told that staff at reception can help to book tickets for bus. In this hotel only one girl spoke English when I was checking in but when I come and ask to help me with bus ticket booking nobody could help. The people who were on reception had very poor English. I spent half of the day to buy ticket. And location is a bit far from center. I recommend to book this brand hotel in Chinatown.
