Seat 2A
This is an intimate 5-room establishment situated amidst the alleys of the Old Town, hence cars cannot drop passengers at the doorstep. Easy enough to catch a shuttle bus for EUR 8 from the airport to the bus station at the port, from which a Makarun staff will meet you and assist you with your luggage to the hotel, a 10-minute walk away.
Breakfast is a la carte, as is to be expected for such a small establishment, comprising 3 courses - pastry/toast, eggs of your choice with cold cuts, and a dessert, complemented by tea coffee and/or juice. Food was more than adequate in terms of quantity and quality.
My room was comfortable enough, though 2 issues were noticeable:
* Instead of a flat cotton bed sheet, there was a fitted sheet made of what seemed like jersey, and looked more like a mattress protector. This was pilled and coarse, in contrast to the far smoother cotton quilt cover. When I brought this to the attention of the staff they explained that this is standard for the hotel. Whilst it did not affect the quality of my sleep, the coarseness of the sheet wasn't entirely pleasant
* In the bathroom, the shower was mounted at waist height, hence one either had to hold the shower in one hand, or, if there was a need to use both hands to wash, then one would have to crouch under the shower while it was in its holder. Not particularly convenient.
Overall a comfortable stay in a convenient location, enhanced by the friendly and solicitous Ivan and Mario.

When we read the previous review, we couldn't believe it. But we got to experience it ourselves... wow, what a hotel. Upon arrival, we were very warmly welcomed by Željka and immediately received a welcome drink. We received a Split card along with a lot of useful information. She then escorted us to our beautiful suite. There was nothing to fault in the room. Safe, fridge, kettle, hairdryer... everything was there!! Our first breakfast was a very unique, but positive experience. A selection of treats was offered to us and turned out to be perfectly chosen. The service was 200% in order and, as some before us have already written... sometimes a bit too much, but you get used to that quickly. On day two, we met Marija. She shone just as brightly, just like Željka. On the last day, we got to know Dea. She equals the other two ladies and helped us perfectly with the problems we experienced with our airline.
During our stay, the room was kept immaculately clean every day. So our thanks also to the cleaning ladies!! This hotel is definitely highly recommended and.....we will certainly be back here!!!!

The host is very friendly and welcoming, will introduce delicious restaurants nearby and tour groups around, even if I live in the highest three-story room, I will help me with my luggage. The accommodation is very, very close to the attractions, really located in the city center, basically can be said to be those attractions downstairs. However, it will be a bit noisy, but as long as the window is closed, the problem is not big. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee are provided. You can use the kettle in the room to brew directly. There is also a refrigerator for drinks to be placed inside. The bathroom is also very spacious, with towels, hand sanitizer, hair dryer and more available. The accommodation also offers breakfast. It is a two-minute restaurant nearby. Three meals are available for breakfast. Orange juice and coffee are also available. In summary, in addition to going up to the third floor, it can basically be said to be perfect.

Excellent location right in the centre of great restaurants and the tourism hotspots. The room and bathtub are great. Good wifi and television box for plenty of viewing options. Rooftop garden/outdoor area is amazing at sunset (see attached photos). A couple of things to prepare yourself for which are out of the control of the hotel owners: there are 90 steps to the floor where the rooms are so would not recommend if you are physically challenged, and the restaurants in the square do have music till quite late which is audible in the rooms so light sleepers may like to try ear plugs. Sound did not bother us and the walk up the stairs was good for our health! The whole of the city has bell ringing at various times during the day (7am, Midday, 8pm) No need to set an alarm to wake up in the morning!

OMMWhile the host has a great attitude, is genuinely helpful, and offers a welcoming touch with free brandy shots, the property falls far short of expectations for the price. Guests should be warned in advance that it is located on the 2nd/3rd floor with no lift, making carrying heavy luggage up 2.5 flights of stairs a major issue. On top of that, the Wi-Fi was unusable during my stay; the host is aware of the problem but hasn't fixed it, even though a basic Wi-Fi 6 or mesh router upgrade would easily solve it. Ultimately, you are paying 5-star hotel prices for a B&B experience with no reception desk, no lift, no luggage assistance, and an early 10:00 AM check-out.

Pro - very close to the Golden Gate and is easy to find. Check in is straightforward. The room is on the first floor above ground so it wasn't the most difficult thing to lift our luggages up.
Con - (1) the actual room looks nothing like the pictures online. The online pictures (taken with wide lens mode) show the room to be much larger and brighter, whereas the room is in fact very small and relatively poorly lit. For one, the bed is literally two footsteps away from the door, and we were struggling to find space to open our luggages.
(2) One of the beds in the room is in fact a sofa bed, but the property did not declare this when we booked. We spent a lot of time trying to book places which do not use sofa beds but actual beds, and so we can't help but feel that we were misled and misrepresented to.
(3) There is a bit of noise. The property is right next to the road and near a pub with some rowdy youths at times.
(4) Facilities are minimal. There is only one chair, and the table is very small. Everything else is basic. Nothing luxurious about it despite its name and the photos.
(5) There is no lift at the property.
We would not have chosen this property if we had a second chance.

The room does not have a sea view.
This is not like a hotel, more like a villa, the security of it is not very high, as it has 2 entrances.
The entrance from the pool, anyone can access it without a problem.
The swimming pool was quite dirty, it has a lot of bugs floating, and also it has not been regularly cleaned by the staff.
It has a lot of restaurants nearby, and the quality and the price are better than those tourist meals in the old town.
The lift was broken on the first day, second day they informed us it is fixed. But it still has a little bit sudden sinking issue.
I guess Croatia does not have regulation of fix term lift checking, as it does not have any certificate in the lift inside/outside.
If the hotel showed 3 stars and the price is lower. I would rate
The right side of the balcony has a big tennis field on the 2nd-floor level, it is very close, and it was quite annoying that people can look over easily.
The suite does not worth 4 stars. The rug is super old, it has some stains on it.
The Front door lock is looking new, it is safe, but some electricity installation was not installed properly, it looks like you can pull them out easily.
The Electric Safety box is not working with the password, the hotel left a key in there for use.
Breakfast arrangement is well managed for guests with early tour, they could arrange breakfast box including 1 fruit, 3 breads, and 1 yogurt at 06am to 07am.

It was convenient because it was close to tourist spots and bus terminals. There were many delicious restaurants nearby. I had to call the owner to check in for myself, so I asked my neighbor's brother to help me.
