The location is great. In the core of Bilbao New Town, there is a parking lot on one or two streets. The overall decoration of the hotel is simple and warm. It has just been renovated in recent years. However, due to the old facilities of the building, it is inevitable that you can smell some kerosene-like smell in the bathroom. We had a lovely 4 night stay at the at Mercure Bilbao Jardines de Albia - Great welcome, Our ‘Privilege’ Room on the 7th floor was lovely very spacious with a very comfortable King size bed, large closet with hanging and shelf space and a large safe. There was a minibar with complimentary water 2 still and 1 sparkling, 2 beers and 2 Coca Cola which was replenished every day. There is a coffee machine. Good controllable air conditioning. The Bathroom had a large walk-in shower. There is a nightclub nearby so there is some noise at night so if you are a light sleeper you should ask for a quiet room. Perfect location - The hotel is 15 min stroll to the Guggenheim museum and its about 10 minute walk from the centres of both the old and new towns, there is a Corte Ingles about 10 mins walk away on the main street and the hotel is just a couple of minutes from the river. The Lobby bar is great and the staff are pleasant and helpful and prices are very reasonable – it was lovely sitting outside having a glass of wine. It is very easy to get to from the airport A3247 bus stop, Journey from the airport is about 20 minutes. Great staff All the staff we met were helpful. Reception is on the 3rd Floor. Breakfast is on the 4th floor with good coffee machines and a great fresh orange juice machine. Thank you to all the restaurant and bar staff especially the manager and also Pedro. The housekeeping was efficient, and everything was spotless. There are so many amazing restaurants and bars in Bilbao serving great food – We were lucky enough to be in Bilbao for the start of the festival and we really enjoyed the amazing firework display on Saturday night. We are already looking forward to returning to Bilbao and the Mercure Bilbao Jardines de Albia.

The bathroom facilities are great, the bedroom is relatively simple, but overall it is very clean, the bed is very comfortable, the hardness is moderate, the front desk service is generally first, I have prepaid the room rate, but the front desk insists that I have not received it and I am unwilling to check it carefully. Later, Trip.com agents came forward to communicate. When it came to the solution, I was obviously a double bed but arranged a big bed for me, but there was no room for negotiation. Later, I made a sofa bed for me.

The hotel is a few steps away from the Guggenheim Museum. It is very convenient to take a walk to the city market and the uphill cable car. The breakfast buffet is relatively good, with hot and cold food. Paid parking in the basement is also convenient. Need to book in advance. The front desk and restaurant waiters are more enthusiastic. A hotel that can be recommended.

Perfect location overlooking the river (virtually next door to the Conde Duque), a 15 minute walk from the Guggenheim. The room was spotless, quiet and very comfortable. I went for the B&B option - the buffet breakfast was excellent, including a glass of cava, if that's your thing! The staff were helpful, efficient and friendly seemingly able to switch between Spanish, English and German. As seems to be the norm these days, the rooms have USB points, so UK visitors don't need to bring an adaptor to charge their phones.

Very good hotel with very friendly staff. We had a beautiful, big room. It was very clean and everything looked new. The bed and pillows where very good. It' s 10/15 minutes from Casco Viejo by foot. And a 15 minute drive to the airport. Would definitly book again.

Loved this hotel in its beautiful location, as we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Paula at the reception, and given good information for our stay, the restaurant was beautiful and food delicious, all the staff at the hotel were so helpful and really pleasant, definitely we would love to go back!

The hotel is very well maintained, the bed is very comfortable, it is not in the center but you can walk there, if I have to make a complaint it is that the heating was very high.

A pleasant surprise this hotel next to the San Mames stadium, close enough to many points of interest in Bilbao. Very clean and with everything you need in the room and good quality as well. Breakfast was excellent with everything you could want, local specialities, champagne and wine, orange juice freshly squeezed, hot chocolate, a wide range of special teas, home made cookies and pastries, everything so tasty and diverse that it was a very difficult choice. The staff everywhere in the hotel was polite and helpful. Highly recommended for services and quality.

I thought the sauna was included in our stay that’s why I booked the hotel. When I’ve mentioned it to the staff about not having an additional cost to it when you book online, they told me is part of the spa . This is very confusing as if it was part of the spa why mentioning it and not including it in the spa section . Spa and sauna are not the same and if it’s a cost to it , that should be mentioned. Anything else was amazing . Also they don’t have a separate cost to the sauna only ! I just wanted to use the gym and the sauna , no spa though! There was no possibility to book the sauna without the spa. It’s like 20 euros per acces not per day which I thought it’s a rip off especially when you are already booked with the hotel and you’ve paid for your room! Again staff showed no flexibility , it was either pay for something you won’t use or you don’t get it! Ended up not booking it because I did not want to use the spa , and I thought it was a lot of money (20 euros) to pay for 15 min use of sauna only.
