I like the normal central heating compared with some hotels that have electric heaters- because you can dry your clothes. Bonus that there is a wall plug -in socket by the bedside unit( which has drawers too. That way, you can charge your phone nearby when in bed. Mine was a single room. Loved the new bathroom with a dual shower( rainfall and flexible shower ( I hate fixed shower heads ). Plus point was the rubber/ plastic mat to use as you come out of the shower. It's such a reasonable rate at this hotel. Plus, it's great for single travellers - then you are not paying for a double room. Biscuits are also a plus and the huge TV screen with free Internet that's not limited

This is my second visit here and as I probably said first time around, it was perfect for just getting your head down after a night out. This time I had a room with a window. Despite being in the busy centre, there was little or no noise to disturb me.
The room was clean, stocked, tidy although the outside of the windows could do with a wash š.
Checking in was no problem either, quick, efficient and friendly as was the check out.

It is next to a small park and close to the central commercial street. There are restaurants and dance floors downstairs, which are a bit noisy at night. You will meet people getting married or holding events.
The facilities are complete and the furnishings are relatively old-fashioned. Overall, it is not bad, no merits or demerits.

The location is great. Right in front of the new street station.
The staff is great. The room is simple but clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a bathtub.
Unfortunately it was not really sound proof. I could hear door closing and some thumps from above.
I hope my talk or watching TV did not disturb other guests.

Please do get the lifts fixed asap - appreciate not fully within ones control but was a bit of a challenge having 2 out of 4 lifts not working; especially as a hotel that is not situated on the ground floor of the building.

I booked the hotel on Trip.com. The earliest check in time was 3pm. Check in was easy. I asked for a room on a certain floor and not too close to the elevator and got exactly what I wanted. Staff was friendly and professional. The room was nice & clean, with all necessary amenities included.
The location is excellent. Its a short walk (under 9 mins) to Birmingham New Street station also known as Grand Central. Hotel is also very close to Bullring Mall. Shops, restaurants & banks are all within easy access to the hotel.
I did not eat any meals in the hotel. Ate out at different restaurants. The hotel amenities are good and well stocked. King size room amenities: kettle, tea coffee milk, safe, mini fridge, ironing board, iron, hair dryer and toiletries.
The shower does not have a glass door, instead it had a shower curtain which was torn on the top. The windows are not double glazed. It rained heavy. The sound of strong winds & rain hitting on to the windows was too loud. Double glazed windows would have solved that issue. The fire alarm went off on Friday morning 3 or 4 times in a row. I tried calling reception a few times but the line was engaged. The hotel should have informed all guests about the fire alarm but they failed to do so. I had to ask one of the cleaners about the alarm. She told me it was nothing to worry about.
In general, I would gladly recommend this hotel to others due to location, cleanliness and comfort.

Looks like a really nice hotel check in was ok apart from having to change rooms staff was polite great customer service the room was nice the only thing i would say is to have the reception/ check in separate and abit more noticeable as when you walk in you can't initially tell or see where the reception/ check in is no major things to add or anything bad would Deffinately stay again

The hotel has a good location, about a ten-minute walk to the center area, making it quite convenient for getting around. However, the cleanliness needs improvementāthe sofa in the room was noticeably dirty, which made the stay less comfortable. Considering the price, the value for money is still decent. If you donāt have particularly high expectations for cleanliness and facilities, it could be a reasonable option.

Pretty close to the City Centre - maybe about 12-15 mins walk from New Street station. Location was good, small stores close by and the price was certainly good for the December dates we stayed in. The room itself was nice, the bed was big but the bathroom was real tiny as in I could touch both sides of the walls easy (but honestly we preferred to pay less than pay extra £100 for another hotel in the same area) so it was no big problem for us; we managed it okay. There was no kettle in the room but you can get hot water anytime downstairs near the breakfast bar. We also asked to change rooms as there was a disruptive guest on our first night and they gave us a quiet corner room for the next night! We did manage to leave our suitcases with the front desk for £2 on the checkout day so we were not lugging bags around until our train back at 5pm. Overall, it is as the name says, its good if you are on a budget and don't mind small toilet and bathroom. The room was clean, the staff helpful and we had all the basics :)

Excellent
GGuest UserLocation of the hotel was excellent. Parking is Ā£13 for the night on site. Room was clean. The aircon did not work and itās was so got my partner almost fainted. I called up the manager who came along with the housekeeping. The housekeeping tried to say oh itās motion sensored and you got to wait 30 minutes or so to come on. Iām standing there looking at her like say what again?! I explained to her nobody has time to wait around for the air con to come on for that long like tia 1994! Even the manager stood there who agreed it was hot. All our food had gone cold. And eventually 30 mins later they moved us to the room next door and from the word go it was so much cooler and the air con was working.. wait for it.. without anybody being there for the āmotion a/cā to work. They didnāt do anything about the food that went cold, the inconvenience. Manager did offer to get us drinks but we donāt drink so pointless. He offered to reimburse Ā£13 for parking again not worth it. Overall it was a poor experience but slightly made up for it when we moved room. This is not really the marriot experience and we made the mistake not to use the usual aloft hotel east side who are always 5/5!
GGuest UserWe'd booked a room with two double beds. I checked in first while I was waiting for my husband to finish his boys night out on Broad Street.
The security were really tight on the door which I appreciated because I was by myself on arrival.
Whilst checking in, I told the receptionist the my husband would be joining me after 2pm and may be a little out of sorts. They took both our details and I went to sleep.
Roll on 4pm, I get a call from my husband saying that they wouldn't let him in, so I called reception and this issue was solved straight away.
The room was perfect, corridors quiet, clean room, all the amenities, wardrobe, fridge and kettle.
Breakfast was great! I'm a porridge, fruit and toast person although my husband tucked into a fry up.
They do have a make to order omelette station too .
I will definitely be booking here again because all our friends live in Brum and the staff, room and location of the hotel is perfect if you're on foot.
LlauliVery clean and modern. I had a room without a window, which was fine. Bed was a little firm for my comfort, but lots of pillows, soft fluffy towels & nice bathroom products plus hairdryer & full length mirrors were provided. Bathroom was a wet room with a bit of an awkward shower if you don't want to wet your hair & bathroom gets totally wet. Located in the heart of the jewellery quarter.
GGuest Userthe room is good enough for 3 persons, though the sofa beds are actually smaller than the photos. well equipped with 2 head cooking hobs, small fridge, dish washer, microwave with grill function and sufficient utensils, and also instant coffee were provided.
the water pressure of the shower is super good and water is hot enough but the toilet is a bit small, you have to hide just next to the toilet bowl then you have enough space to open the door.
The down side is the service of the reception & housekeeping team. After we got the room cards, we couldn't access to the room and needed to go down to ask the receptionist to fix the cards and come back to open the room. After entered the room, we found that the water in toilet sink didn't go, we asked the housekeeping staff who was just working at the next room to have a look at it but who said we needed to go to the receptionist (as there's no inter-room telephone, we have to go down again). Then the receptionist arranged another room which was downstairs for us.
We booked for 2 nights, when we came back to the hotel the next evening, the room cards didn't work, again. The receptionist claimed that it might be due to the cards being put together with the mobile phone that might damage the cards. However, we were sure the cards weren't put together with the phones!
It would be perfect if a small box of tissue could be provided.
SSfrixelReally unsatisfied with the cleanliness of the room, there was a huge amount of dust anywhere that I was sneezing continuously.
Also, the most disgusting thing were the bedsheets, stained with yellow spots! I asked for a new set of bedsheets and the reception gave them to me and I had to put them on, because there was no one of the cleaning team to do it.
Very very very unsatisfied.
GGuest UserHotel is not in a bad location for trips outā¦
But the hotel needs a lot of improvements! The breakfast buffet you are left waiting for them to replenish food items , you have to keep asking staff where are the cups for tea as none replaced there was queues because of the location of the toaster, be careful if you ask for water to be replaced in room as I was charged but then got a refund after complaining..the executive room was good but I know the standard rooms are not great. The staff were good but there needs better organisation. The pool area dated and no set time they seem to pick and choose open close times. We had quite a few issues not all mentioned here which we told reception about we was not happy and noticed other customers complaining.. we would not stay again and certainly not 4 star 3 at most .. canāt comment on spa treatments as did not use but looking at the spa Iām sure there are better ones around. Golf course 9 hole in good condition but outside hotel area need tidying up bit scruffy.
AAnonymous UserIt was a little hard to access the property as it's a back entrance I had to google the company as the number on the app doesn't go through when trying to call them however once I did manage to get through they were very helpful .
My family and I enjoyed staying at the property , it was our first time staying at a place like this we normally just use hotels , we did notice some pots and baking pans had been put back dirty in the cupboard but otherwise it was clean and had all the things needed there we were please that the pictures match what the property looked like , we had one time where we were locked out of the property as the code wasn't working and no one was answering the phone but after I sent an email the issue was resolved .
There were four supermarkets nearby closest to the Morrisons , Aldi , Lidl and farm foods , 25 mins walk to Cadbury world which the kids loved going to there were lots of parks nearby one is only a 5 mins walk away , bus stops nearby if you needed to travel by bus which we did utilise and overall we enjoyed our stay there we would stay again in the future .
Note. If you have kids there are stairs in the property so keep that in mind we just closed the door near to the stairs .
MMike LutzA very pleasant stay in a clean room with decent amenities. The bed was comfy and I didnāt hear noise from other guests, it was good to have blackout blinds too. The location was perfect for my conference and walking distance to the city centre (about 15 mins). The breakfast is decent and there are snacks and drinks available as well.
GGuest UserThe beds were ultra comfortable and I had the best night of sleep Iāve had in weeks. Room was small but unless youāre planning on spending a lot of time in the room, it was perfect. Bathroom was great, very clean and had a rain shower head which I loved. They didnāt really provide any toiletries other than hand wash and body wash, I had to buy my own shampoo and conditioner. Thereās also no fridge/microwave, but there was tea and coffee with a kettle provided. I would definitely recommend and I would stay again.
