Shane was really helpful in suggesting food and drinks and it was a nice, relaxed environment at the bar for our food. The food was well presented and tasty. The superfood salad was really nice. Definitely have the extra chicken. The desserts were also excellent. Sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie were also great. Would recommend it for a relaxing drink and food. Great service. Shane and Jessica were really nice.

The location is bang in the middle of the city centre so it is well connected. Check in was smooth and we were allotted a room with an amazing view. There are additional amenities like a locker as well as an ironing board in the room. The breakfast spread had a delicious range from bakery, cereals, fruits, even waffles!! Overall, a lovely stay at Hamptonđ

I stopped here one night with friends for my birthday. The hotel is easy to get to, and the location is excellent as itâs located on Broad Street, near Brindley Place which hosts a wide range of bars and pubs. So if youâre visiting Birmingham to have a drunken, night out or a special occasion then this hotel is perfect. Thereâs also parking on site behind the hotel which is very handy, unfortunately the car park isnât discounted for guests stopping in the hotel. After waiting in a small queue, we attempted to check in at 14:30 (half hour earlier than check in âopensâ) we were told the room wasnât ready. Which wasnât an issue as they had luggage storage available. We can back to check in at 16:00 and the queue was horrendous. Iâve never seen a queue as big as this to check in for a hotel before. We waited for 20 minutes until we checked in. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. Although there were coffee cups left behind the curtains upon entry. The bathroom was very modern and had a walk in shower. The beds were unbelievably comfy and had plug sockets by the side of the bed which is a massive plus as not every hotel has this. Luckily, it was a quicker process checking out as you can just pop your keys in the âexpress checkout boxâ. Overall, a comfortable night stay in the heart of Birmingham, unfortunately the check in was horrific.

I would stay here again! I loved the location of the hotel. It is right inbetween the city center (New Street Station & Bullring) and the beautiful Brindley Place are by the old canal. The room itself was clean and looked mostly like it was in the picture, I also had a pretty cool view onto the old canal from the 15th floor. The carpet and the couch looked a bit âworn downâ, but it was clean nonetheless. The staff was friendly, nice and very helpful. It was nice that the breakfast was included and there was a good choice of breakfast options. I can 100% recommend this hotel when staying in Birmingham. I had a nice time and didn't miss anything while staying at the Holiday Inn Express.

Had gone here for a night. The room I was given was nice and spacious but the air on wouldn't work. So I was moved to another room which was smaller, felt like I was downgraded to a smaller room.
If only they could give me the same spacious room that I booked with a working air con would have been great.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite for 2 nights, on the fifth floor, with a 2 year old toddler. Overall our stay was ok, the apartment had what we needed, was well located and noise was minimal at night. Cleanliness was ok but could be improved eg stains on armchairs in living room, dust on shower curtain rail. Good range of items at breakfast. However a couple of issues we flagged to reception: At the breakfast buffet on our last morning, I filled up my toddlerâs milk cup with milk from the fridge, before passing it to another guest, and then filling up his cereal with the same bottle. Luckily, before heâd drunk much of the milk, the other guest came over to tell me she thought the milk was off and had seen me fill up a sippy cup with it. My husband tasted it and confirmed it was sour and fizzy. I went to check the fridge and there were several bottles of milk that had gone past their clearly stated sell by dates, including one that didnât have a cap on. I immediately told breakfast staff who had been moving bottles around with ample opportunity to check dates, and didnât receive an apology. Later we told reception, they apologised but no remedial action offered. Had the other guest not informed me, my son and other guests could have been very sick. Staff need to be trained to check sell by dates on items at offer at breakfast, before putting them out for guests to use. We had another issue with the travel cot supplied, it didnât have a proper mattress, just a folded up board. Reception did offer to bring up towels/sheets to fold and act as a mattress but I thought this was poor. We ended up buying a travel cot mattress for our stay. These combined issues affected our stay so canât give more than 2 stars.

PP6988TMdavidhIn all honesty, I have always considered Ibis to be a low-cost budget hotel that I would not choose to stay at. However, I recently had to attend a meeting that was booked at this hotel, and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. It is important to refrain from making judgments without personal experience, as I discovered that the hotel was remarkably impressive. Upon my arrival, I inquired at the reception desk if any of the rooms offered a view of the airport, as I wanted to video chat with my four-year-old son who is fascinated by airplanes. Unfortunately, they did not have any rooms with the desired view. However, upon returning from dinner, I found a small airplane present waiting for my son, which I thought was an exceptionally thoughtful gesture. This experience has completely transformed my perception of the Ibis brand. I have gone from being reluctant to book with them to being more than happy to do so in the future. Ibis Style has successfully converted me into a loyal customer, and I commend them for their exceptional service.
LLulukongThe air conditioner broke on the first night, and they fixed it for me right away. The room was good value for money, with parking available, Costa across the street, and convenient car rental nearby with Sixt. Later, I left my passport, credit card, and some cash in the room because I was careless after receiving an emergency call before leaving. The hotel staff returned the money and kept it for me until I came back to pick it up. Thank you very much! I stayed for ten days, and it was generally good, safe and formal.
Hygiene: clean
Environment: not bad
Service: warm
Facilities: a little old
GGuest UserStayed for 2 weeks as I was in Birmingham for work. Had an amazing experience here, room was nice and cozy, it was cleaned daily and new towels were provided every day. The hotel personnel was kind, helpful and very professional. The only thing that could be improved is the WiFi as it was rather slow and would keep disconnecting often. But besides that, I would highly recommend this hotel.
GGuest UserGoing on a business trip, really not looking forward to it at all..booked the closest hotel to the venue not realising itâs actually connected..expected to be in a travel lodge-esque boxâŠthis hotel was so nice, Iâd happily go back! Everything about it, polite helpful check-in staff, excellent room with everything I needed. Lovely staff in the restaurant, even allowed me to grab a pastry for breakfast even though Iâd not paid for breakfast ( surgery precludes me chomping down on piled high buffet plates)âŠ.uber comfortable bed, fab shower, tea coffee facilities, iron and board, usb sockets in the roomâŠin spite of what others may have experienced, the entire hotel was immaculately clean and tidy..with a somewhat unusual but really nice orange smell in the receptionâŠwould not hesitate to stay here again!!
GGuest UserI arrived past the check-in time, and reception was not around to receive me. Nonetheless, there was a number on the door to call, and I was talked through the process of getting in with the code, and to collect my keys. The gentleman was incredibly patient with me, which was appreciated as it was late, and I was exhausted from a long work day and it was my first time in Birmingham so I got lost finding my way from the train station to the accommodation.
The apartment was incredibly spacious. The living room and kitchen made me feel right at home, and the kitchen was well equipped. There were two bedrooms and two bathrooms - I was a single traveller so I didn't need to use all that space at all.
The bed I slept in was marvellously comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, the water pressure was strong, and I really have zero complains about it.
Location wise, there is a mall next door, although by the time I arrived it was closed, and when I left for my work meeting at 7am the next morning it wasn't opened yet. There were also some restaurants by the waterfront around the corner.
I think this is a great accommodation for families or friends travelling together.
QQinaidexiaomingmingThe hotel is in a good location, in the city center. It is a good hotel for attending conferences and the price is affordable. I will book this hotel again for the next Birmingham exhibition. It is convenient for travel.
GGuest UserI will not hold it against the hotel if other guests are making noises outside my door. The location is great, rooms are clean, well stocked with tea/coffee, staff is friendly and professional so what else can I ask for. It is not a spanking new hotel so do expect some inevitable wear and tear. As the weather turned hot the room was starting to get stuffy and I had to open the windows which looked out to a quiet alley. If I need to, I would stay here again as it is a pleasant place.
GGuest UserHotel is not in a bad location for trips outâŠ
But the hotel needs a lot of improvements! The breakfast buffet you are left waiting for them to replenish food items , you have to keep asking staff where are the cups for tea as none replaced there was queues because of the location of the toaster, be careful if you ask for water to be replaced in room as I was charged but then got a refund after complaining..the executive room was good but I know the standard rooms are not great. The staff were good but there needs better organisation. The pool area dated and no set time they seem to pick and choose open close times. We had quite a few issues not all mentioned here which we told reception about we was not happy and noticed other customers complaining.. we would not stay again and certainly not 4 star 3 at most .. canât comment on spa treatments as did not use but looking at the spa Iâm sure there are better ones around. Golf course 9 hole in good condition but outside hotel area need tidying up bit scruffy.
