Boracay Peninsula: Beachfront Beauty, Let Down by Neglect
The Boracay Peninsula has one undeniable strength: its beachfront location. The easy access to the beach and the stunning sunsets were truly lovely. However, the rest of the experience was sadly disappointing.
The hotel itself is showing its age significantly. The rooms are outdated, and the bathrooms were particularly problematic. Not only were they worn and in need of repair, but they also had a persistent unpleasant odor that made sleeping difficult. We requested a room change on our second day, a request that was met with a distinct lack of apology or even acknowledgement of the problem. The staff were polite, but their lack of concern was noticeable.
Adding insult to injury, the pool was visibly dirty and unusable.
It's a real shame, because the location is fantastic. But the combination of outdated and unclean rooms, the uncaring response from the staff (the lack of apology stung), and the dirty pool created a very negative experience. The potential is there for this hotel to be wonderful, but significant improvements are desperately needed. I give it a 2 out of 5 stars.
