The hotel is outrageous in historical layout. Super location in city center close to all the best place. Lots of shopping options and best restaurants. near all the night activities. No need for taxi just walk along the main road for sightseeing. Close to convenient public transportation. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They have lots of information about activities to do. Breakfast is wonderful and tasty! I recommend to any one visiting Bordeaux. I will return!

Great location, very nice. The room was spacious and nice. The breakfast was a bit disappointing. It's in the city center, so it's convenient to go anywhere👍

The decoration is a bit old-fashioned but very stylish. It is the best hotel in the area. The bedding and bed are very comfortable and the bathroom is very clean.

Very good experience

I feel that the preferential price of Chinese passports is a big bargain... But I did not expect to be racially discriminated against by the black pearls at the front desk. Check-in at 14:30 is only 30 minutes earlier than the usual check-in time. According to the normal concept, it should be possible to arrange a room early, right? … Black Pearl said that the room was not arranged, and asked if I could go to the lobby and wait for a cup of coffee (coffee is not free) and when the room is cleaned up, she would call me with the room card. After I finished my third cup of coffee, she came and handed me the room card. At that time, I was booking a train ticket for the next trip, so I didn't check in to the room right away. About 10 minutes later, she (Black Pearl) came again and said that the room card she had given me was wrong, and she gave me a room card (the room number is 445, see picture). I didn't care. After taking the room card, I took the elevator to the 4th floor and opened the door. Where is the hotel? It's obviously a small black room for prisoners. The small window faces the dark patio, and the other half of the window is blocked by the wall: that is to say, only half of the so-called "landscape" can be seen through the window. I felt that my body was treated extremely unfairly, (forgot to take a photo) and quickly walked back to the front desk and told the other staff on duty (Black Pearl is also there, knowing that I was angry and deliberately avoided it), at the same price range I found a house with some views and lived in. (Room number 333, see picture) The location of this hotel is very good, in the downtown area, but after entering the hotel, you need to go through dark, tortuous and even bizarre corridors and steps to walk back to your room (the timid girl should not walk alone...) The above is my real experience. In fact, there are no discounts for mainland passports. There are more discounts for members in the IGH club. (You can check and compare) I was very angry that I was treated unfairly when I showed my mainland passport.

From the moment we checked in with Maya at reception on Christmas eve, to the minute we checked out four days later, every member of staff made our stay feel like a family Christmas holiday (but in a good way!!). The food, the wine, the atmosphere were a joy to behold and experience. I can't wait to return to Bordeaux and stay in this majestic hotel again.

Second stay in September 2023. We love bordeaux and Le Grand Bordeaux. The service and food are excellent, even better than 2019 trip.
