We are two women in our late 60's and early 70's, we were checked in after 3. We took the elevator then had to go up 6 or 7 stairs lugging our luggage. We get in our room and it was the size of a closet. I called front desk, I was ready to move hotels. We were moved to bigger room, didn't realize the smell wasn't from room not being used, it smelled like sewer gas. The staff came and smelled the room the next day and said they would give us a new room. This one was acceptable. It looked out at train station and ferris wheel. I asked the evening desk clerk a question about catching a train next day. He was very helpful and told me to stop with my info in morning so he could look at it. When I went down this morning, I was met by a young lady with dark hair and a man, Oliver, I told him I was told to stop by desk. He told me, the train station is over there, go ask them. I found most staff friendly, but Oliver rude. Also, the fact that we had to move rooms 3 times. I don't know that I would stay again.

Pillows are amazing, Wi-Fi really good and staff are one of the nicest I’ve ever met. This centrally located boutique hotel is perfect for business travel, but I’d definitely return for a leisure break. My work schedule changed and to say the team were accommodating is an understatement. In my limited free time I managed to see the central shopping area and visit the very close by old town (highly recommend ). My only ****** is that the menu for just a light snack is fairly limited. As a solo guest, I felt very secure. But for me this hotel was a solid 9/10

Highly recommended for those who want to have a good access to the city centre of Antwerp. The WiFi is great and well connected. The room is very comfortable and clean too. Easy access to the public transport system and restaurants. The convenience store is located on the next door. Enjoyed staying at this hotel.

My stay in this modern hotel was good. The check in was smooth. As the rooms are equipped with a system of electronic cards, it can be a bit complicated if your card isn’t activated (that was my case). The lift doesn’t move if your card isn’t activated. The room was standard, with a modern shower. Consider that the room isn’t cleaned every day. In my case, a 2-night stay, the room was cleaned at all. The releasing of “preserving the environment” is a bit too easy. The hotel saves a lot of money, but the price remains the same :-( Breakfast was good, either a variety of continental food.

Citybox is a functional hotel along Molenbergstraat. It is a 10-12 minute walk from Antwerp Central Station and around 10-15 minute walk to the main sightseeing area of the city. We recently had a good multi night stay and would consider booking Citybox here in Antwerp or one of their sister properties elsewhere in Europe based on our experience. Booking was made through the Citybox website where we found best room rates. Self check-in when we arrived at the property was simple to use, smart card key was issued and we were in our room within just a few minutes. Lobby was large with comfortable and atmospheric seating. There is an eatery on the ground floor which opens early. Second floor had washing machine facility. While there is no front desk, there are staff in the office next to the lift if they are needed. Rooms are spacious with simple decor and furnishing. Bathroom was fine, shower water pressure good. Importantly, bed was generally comfortable. Lighting, heating and wifi all worked just fine. Note, the room is fairly minimalist, no TV, in room safe, kettle, hand towels and other amenities that you usually find in traditional hotels. All is fine if you know what you are getting into with Citybox. We felt, they got the important things right and offered a good stay experience for the room rates being offered and their location in Antwerp.

Attractive common area. Friendly checkin staff. Well appointed rooms a little on the small side. Housekeeping only every other day. Come on covid is over. Tome yo get back to regular schedule. Breakfast is an extra but not great we you consider the cost. Fair price.

After traveling through Amsterdam, north of France, 3 cities in Belgium and being disappointed with almost every hotel, our stay at this hotel was finally superb. Clean, friendly staff, centrally located in Antwerp, and the view of Central station during the day and night was just stunning. Upon arrival I requested view to Central Station and the attendant wasted no time to grant the request. All we had to do was join the hotel’s rewards program, which we did without hesitation, and my wish was granted. Our room was upgraded at no cost and we were not disappointed. Ground public parking conveniently located under hotel. Plenty of restaurants around. Chocolate Nation Museum literally 10 steps away. The room was big and comfortable. Bathroom too. Great blow drier lol. Toiletries provided including toothbrush, comb, bath salts…. We were truly impressed. Highly recommended if you’re on leisure or a business trip.

If it wasn't for the fact my room seemed unkempt, this hotel would have been perfect. The bathroom seem to have issues with the plumbing, and the bed sheets were stained. 🤮 I hope it was an isolated case, regardless, unacceptable! Everything else was fantastic, the hotel personal was professional, friendly, and polite. The breakfast was amazing, very good quality buffet (not included). The location was amazing, only 100 meters from the train station (a straight shot to Brussels airport), about a 10 minute walk to Old Town. Shops and good restaurants can be found in the immediate surroundings.

A lovely hotel and right where you need to be if visiting Antwerp, it's ideally located near bars, restaurants, shopping and near the diamond quarter. Nice clean room with a large bed, no tea or coffee facilities but you can go upstairs to the sixth floor and use the machines (if working). The only issue I had was I needed to use the hairdryer and after about 2 minutes use it stopped working, that is the only problem I had. Would definitely use this hotel again, it's the perfect place. And before I forget I did ask a member of staff how to get to the brewery and someone else gave me directions, thank you very much am sorry I didn't get your name but it's appreciated

Our previous experience with De Jonckheer was very positive, but unfortunately our recent stay did not fully meet our expectations. When booking we specifically asked for a room with a double bed instead of two separate beds, but despite the friendly reception we received a room with two loose beds. When we reported this to the reception, we received an unfriendly reaction from a office behind the bar, telling us that an upgrade was not possible because they were completed. This was disappointing, especially given that we had passed this request a few days before, without any counter-reaction, and when checking it was asked how late we wanted to breakfast. We gave up about 09.00u / 09.30u to want breakfast, which was noted. The next morning we arrived at 09.30u in the breakfast room, but until our surprise was already cleaning. Fortunately, a careful staffer made her utmost to provide us with breakfast, which made her a light point during our stay. We were delayed when check-out because the receptionist was busy talking about a restaurant booking, and her communication sounded rather depressive, which did not contribute to a positive experience. Another guest who wanted to check in received a form with the accompanying text ”Call this”. We stayed in the hotel because of a family member's exit and were therefore quick, unfortunately we were not helped efficiently. We decided to check out online and left without any greeting from the receptionist. In short, although De Jonckheer is a very beautiful and comfortable hotel where we like to stay, There is clear room for improvement, particularly in the area of customer service at reception.
