Dandong Hotels with Breakfast

Huge thanks to the front desk attendant for upgrading us to a hot spring room! We were so pleasantly surprised when we walked in. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a breathtaking view of the Yalu River and distant mountains, just like a traditional Chinese painting. Waking up early, I got to watch the stunning sunrise from the room, which really boosted my mood. The room's details were thoughtfully designed, and it was spotlessly clean. The floor-to-ceiling windows even had narrow side vents that could be opened, letting in a refreshing breeze from the river. All the staff, including the doorman, front desk, and the lovely Korean staff in the breakfast restaurant, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. For breakfast, they had options like red soup sea cucumber noodles and chicken soup abalone noodles, Swiss rolls, and fresh Dandong strawberries and blueberries. The food and fruit were all of excellent quality – definitely a great choice.

Seriously, this hotel has redefined what 'feeling at home' means to me. As someone who has stayed in countless five-star hotels, the service here is absolutely top-notch – from the front desk to housekeeping, every detail exudes genuine warmth and care, completely free from that cold, impersonal formality. The comfort of the room makes you never want to leave once you step inside; the bed, the lighting, everything is just perfect. I especially want to highlight the breakfast – it's of incredibly high quality! The ingredients are fresh, and the presentation is thoughtful, not your typical run-of-the-mill buffet. Every bite reveals the chef's dedication. The most heartwarming part was at checkout when the staff specially presented me with a freshly brewed coffee and a delicate little gift. This feeling of being remembered and appreciated is more valuable than any physical amenity. Just for that thoughtful gesture, I wouldn't hesitate to choose this hotel again the next time I visit this city.

The hotel boasts a great location, within walking distance of the train station and the Yalu River Broken Bridge. The surrounding commercial area is well-equipped, making dining and shopping very convenient. The rooms are clean and hygienic, and parking is a breeze with a dedicated lot in the back and street parking available out front. The front desk staff are incredibly welcoming, and the security guards are helpful with parking guidance. All employees greet guests, reflecting excellent hotel management. The facilities are comprehensive; they even called me to mail back a pair of white linen pants I left behind. The front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant staff are all highly professional. Breakfast offers a wide variety, including freshly ground coffee. Overall, a very comfortable stay!

★★★★★ Excellent stay at Holiday Inn Express Dandong City Center We had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Express Dandong City Center by IHG. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel extremely welcome and comfortable. Their hospitality, warmth, and willingness to assist made our experience truly memorable. The location of the hotel is excellent — very convenient for exploring Dandong’s main attractions, including the Yalu River area, and there are many shops and restaurants nearby. The surroundings are lively and pleasant, making it easy to explore the city on foot. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The facilities were excellent, and the hotel provided everything we needed for a relaxing family stay. The breakfast was also very good, with a nice variety of options. As a foreign guest, I especially appreciated the effort made to provide a comfortable dining experience. We were travelling with our family, including a young child, and the team was very considerate and helpful throughout our stay. Their friendly attitude and attention to detail gave us a very homely feeling. Overall, this was one of the most pleasant hotel experiences we have had in China. A big thank you to the entire team of Holiday Inn Express Dandong City Center for making our visit to Dandong so enjoyable. The hotel is conveniently located, just a 10-15 minute walk from the train station and Broken Bridge. The facilities are excellent, including a smart toilet, washing machine, and dryer. The room is quite spacious and comfortable. They even provide good quality Ador shampoo and conditioner. The hygiene is top-notch, and the service is great. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options and is self-service. I highly recommend it!

This hotel is located near the Yalu River. We booked a room with a view, and from our room, we could see the Yalu River and the Broken Bridge, which was a beautiful sight. I have to commend the parking attendant, who was incredibly enthusiastic and helpful. Since it was peak tourist season, parking was difficult. The attendant tirelessly ran around in the hot weather to help us find a parking spot. He suggested that it would be best to park the car once and then take a taxi or walk, as it would be more convenient. However, because we were going to the Museum of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea with our child, we opted to drive for convenience. I really should have listened to the attendant's advice and taken a taxi, because parking was indeed very challenging… Thankfully, when we returned to the hotel later that night, we managed to find a parking space just in time.

I stayed at the Dandong Dihao Business Hotel and everything was incredibly smooth from start to finish. Check-in was easy, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were always friendly and available. What really stood out was when I got sick during my stay and unfortunately made quite a mess in the room. I was embarrassed, but the staff were absolutely wonderful about it. They showed genuine concern for my health, checked on me, and took care of me with real kindness. They cleaned the entire room thoroughly without making me feel bad about it for even a second. Thank you to the whole team. 🙏

The hotel is very close to the railway station, 10 min walk to the promenade, Broken Bridge and Piers, there’s a small park next to the hotel with dancing fountains and illuminated street at night ( looks wow!), easy to reach restaurants, stores and shops, where you can buy goods produced in DPRK. Before talking to the receptionist , better get ready your phone translator if you’re not fluent in Chinese, they didn’t seem very friendly and hospitable, the house keeping lady was more hello-hi and smiling, helped me to find the dashboard in my room to switch the lights:). By the way , the toilet surprised me with warm mode and some more functions you’ll check by yourself ( especially ladies:)). Breakfast….even for Chinese locals and hotel rating it looked poor and not delicious.Perhaps, it’s only my opinion, but I was disappointed and left the hotel restaurant half hungry.The hotel room is quite cozy and spacious, the mattress is not soft , but comfy for sleeping.Recommend it for short stay, 2-3 days, but for budget travelers, it’s not the option. Booked tents but there are cabins on site Add money to upgrade to cabins. The weather on May 1st is still strong. There are mountains and waters around. It is very pleasant. The boss said that the maple leaves in autumn are better-looking. You can consider coming again in October. The cabin has a complete range of indoor appliances. Water heaters, smart toilets, geothermal air conditioning, hand-made coffee and tea in the stove are very pleasant. Of course, outdoor camping inevitably has some emergencies, such as small bugs, bad nets, or broken electric curtains 😂 Normal heart ～ Since you choose camping, you can feel another life! The only uncomfortable thing is from breakfast. The breakfast is delivered by the eldest sister. It is very good. Each breakfast is heavy and full. But the two of us can't eat too much. We asked for a bowl of porridge, two steamed buns and some pickles. The eldest sister said that there are salted duck eggs. I said yes, the eldest sister asked a few and I said if I could come two. When the eldest sister was going to get it for me, a fat little brother next to her pulled his face and said no, he could give one. At that time, I was particularly defeated. Our accommodation, the electric curtains are broken, the net is broken, and there are small bugs. We all endured it because a salted duck egg depends on the face of people. Please standardize your breakfast, okay! If you can have one and a half salted duck eggs, please print them out and stick them in a clear position instead of asking us on the spot. Finally, say you can give one. If the boss wants to do service for a long time, he has to keep up. It is fun to spend money. It is not to see other people's faces!

These are bookings for a room inside a villa near the slopes. A cluster of villas stand about a 15 minute walk from the visitors center, which is also the check-in spot. Driving is recommended as limited transportation is available. The slopes are about a 10 minute drive from the villas. The visitors center delivers meals to the villas for a 15% fee, but the food is quite good with large portions. You may end up with one room inside a villa which has other guests. The water pressure is not great, and the furniture may not be the best quality. But otherwise the rooms are clean, neat and large, with nice views.
