AAnonymous UserTwo tea enthusiasts and I spontaneously decided to embark on a tea-seeking journey in Xishuangbanna. We stumbled upon the Mukolan Mountain Luxury Hotel on Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform), and were immediately captivated upon checking in. The hotel's design, reminiscent of Japanese wabi-sabi, blends seamlessly with local materials and culture. Natural elements imbue the entire hotel with a sense of perfect harmony with nature, as if it were one with the surrounding rainforest.
My mountain-view room featured floor-to-ceiling windows that offered breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains. The layered tea plantations shimmered in the morning mist, and the distant scenery was picturesque and truly invigorating. The room's amenities rivaled those of a five-star hotel, featuring GABO smart toilets and bathroom fixtures, a Dyson hairdryer, Bulgari toiletries, a Serta mattress, a Marshall Bluetooth speaker, and a capsule coffee machine. All rooms also included an oversized bathtub. Staying in the mountains, the quality was guaranteed.
The first-floor restaurant serves breakfast, and lunch and dinner are available à la carte at reasonable prices. It offers local specialties with incredibly fresh ingredients; the chicken gizzard and sweet bamboo shoots are freshly picked, and the free-range chicken from the tea plantation is freshly slaughtered – the food is absolutely delicious! The poolside bar by the infinity pool offers coffee, tea, craft beer, whiskey, and cigars, perfect for relaxing.
The outdoor infinity pool is another highlight of the hotel, offering stunning photo opportunities at any time.
We were very fortunate to meet Ms. Li, a seasoned tea connoisseur, during our stay at Muke Lanshan. We sampled the King of Tea from Nannuo Mountain, the Selected No. 17 tea from Lao Ban Zhang, Pu'er tea from Kunlu Mountain, and the Girl's Red tea from Nannuo Mountain… Listening to Ms. Li tell the stories behind each tea perfectly fulfilled our dream of a tea-seeking journey.
In terms of hotel amenities, all guests enjoy one-way airport/train station pick-up service, as well as a traditional, fully handmade Pu'er tea-making experience. Each of us pressed our own tea cake, and the butler led us on a hike through the 800-year-old Tea King Tree rainforest, showcasing the ancient tea tree's growing environment and pristine ecosystem of Nannuo Mountain – a true tea-seeking journey.
We originally planned to stay only one day, but we were so happy after checking in that we stayed another day. We basically spent the entire day in the hotel's tea room, enjoying delicious food, drinks, and conversation, wasting time on wonderful things.
My personal recommendation is that if you're traveling to Xishuangbanna and enjoy a unique accommodation experience, consider staying at Muke·Lanshan South. Living in the mountains, you can relax, unwind, and completely escape the hustle and bustle, finding a healing sanctuary for your mind and body, and discovering true relaxation and tranquility in the oxygen-rich mountains.

__WeChat36311****I travel every year, and this time, it was a last-minute booking, but it turned out to be surprisingly good! It's very clean and has great views. The owner took us to see the King Tea Tree, treated us to the best tea, and even let us try traditional roasted tea. They also helped us buy several tea-marbled eggs, which were incredibly fragrant. It made our trip to Nannuo Mountain absolutely perfect. I'll definitely stay here again next time. Highly recommended!

11365240****It is still quite a long way from Menghai to Zhanglang Ancient Village. The proprietress specially drove to pick us up and also saw us off when leaving, which was very considerate.
After checking in, we received one-stop service for food, drink, and entertainment, which felt very good.
Eat: Breakfast is wood-fired hanging pot bean porridge, which is very delicious. I drank three large bowls around the stove and was satisfied. Lunch is mushrooms picked in the mountains. The bright red mushrooms are like elves in the mountains, so beautiful and spiritual. Simple mountain spring water stews into a mushroom soup with a strong aroma of fungus. Dinner is wild vegetables and pumpkin sprouts picked randomly by the roadside, which are also very delicious when stir-fried. By pounding bitter eggplant, pounding river bamboo shoots, and pounding tomatoes, you can taste the unique flavor of the mountains. I also ate their own wild honey, which was sweet to my heart.
Drink: The landlady brought out various kinds of ancient tree tea and Pu'er tea for us to taste. With the sound of rain outside the tearoom and the faint fragrance of tea in the tearoom, we chatted about home affairs in an understated way. I felt that although the landlady is young, she has a sense of self-reliance. The sense of self-reliance and strength brings respect.
Wan: Even though the lady boss is young, she got on her motorcycle and took the two of us on the muddy road in the mountains. She was very cool and comfortable. We were taken up the mountain to pick mushrooms, tea in the ecological tea garden, and ancient tea trees in the primeval forest. We also encountered wild Ganoderma lucidum on the way.
Le: The Baixiang Temple in Zhanglang Ancient Village is particularly beautiful, and the thousand-year-old trees are particularly divine. I like the air, spring water, wild vegetables, ancient temples, sacred trees, and the simple and enthusiastic landlady here.
Accommodation: A quaint wooden house. When you open the window, you can see the unique scenery in the mountains in different weather conditions. The mountains shrouded in clouds and mist after the rain, the sunset glow over the mountains and plains after the sky clears, the lush forests, and the clear air.
Zhang Lang, your beauty, your purity, your tranquility remain in my memory. Thank you for meeting me!

Our stay at this homestay was nothing short of magical. We traveled as a group of eight, including two young children, three grandparents, and three adults, and every single one of us had an incredible time. Nestled amidst lush tea plantations, the setting is absolutely stunning. Each morning, we woke up to breathtaking sunrises and a serene mist that blanketed the landscape. The house itself is a work of art—crafted entirely of wood and with impeccable aesthetic taste that reflects a deep respect for nature.
But as beautiful as the surroundings and accommodations are, the true highlight of our stay was the hospitality of the host. In our three years in China, we have never experienced anything like it. From the moment we arrived, it felt as though we were visiting a dear friend rather than staying in a hotel. Her warmth, generosity, and genuine care made us feel completely at home.
The food was exceptional, and we were treated to fresh fruits and tea throughout the day. She showed special care for our children, teaching them (and us!) how to make tea, and even accompanied us on a walk to share her knowledge of the local flora. One day, she surprised us with her hidden talent as a musician, singing traditional Chinese songs while playing the guitar and drums. Her smile and positive energy were infectious, leaving a lasting impression on all of us.
This homestay was more than just a place to stay—it was an unforgettable experience filled with beauty, warmth, and cultural connection. We left with full hearts and wonderful memories, knowing this was the best place we've ever stayed in China. If you're looking for a place that offers not just comfort but also an extraordinary sense of belonging, this is it. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserIt is a treasure hotel hidden in the mountains. I highly recommend it! First of all, the environment is good. It is really comfortable. There are birds singing and flowers blooming around. It is cool in the morning and evening and not very hot during the day. It is much better than the noisy and hot Gaozhuang. It is said that the rainy season in summer is also cool and comfortable, and there is no harassment from insects and mosquitoes (probably because of the high altitude, more than 1,500), and there will be a sea of clouds in the rainy season. The hotel itself is decorated and decorated in a high-end and elegant manner, with exquisite materials. There is an outdoor infinity pool and a beautiful water-friendly landscape (Nannuozi can be photographed at sunset, and the Nannuozi of Huawei Mate60pro is taken here). There are several luxurious landscape tea rooms where you can enjoy unlimited tea, chat and rest... Finally, I would like to recommend the hotel owners (both owners and shareholders have successful careers in Beijing. After traveling around the famous mountains and rivers, they have selected this place. They live here all year round, which shows that they are true love). The tea king tree visit and rainforest hiking activities led by the team are very interesting and fun. The children are very interested and have gained knowledge without being tired. It has greatly exceeded my expectations. Finally, I wish the hotel owner and all the guests a happy life and endless happiness!

The owner even gave us a free bottle of wine to enjoy while soaking. The area is lovely for long walks and peace and quiet.

GGuest UserThe boss is a primary school physical education teacher and a cheerful person who loves life. It was already past seven o'clock when we arrived at the store. The boss was worried about us and made several phone calls to us. We can order the meal in advance. It tastes good and the portion is large. After the meal, the boss sang and danced. , performed Hani dance for us, heard us say that we wanted to see the sunrise the next day, drove us to find the way in the evening, invited us to drink tea when we came back, shared local stories, and introduced the tea-making process, which benefited us a lot. I must say that the boss's tea is delicious and the people are very down-to-earth. The big bowl of noodles for ten yuan for breakfast is very hot and very filling. I have always wanted to experience the tea mountain. This time, my little wish came true and I also felt the boss. What a joy to pass on, so lucky that the boss even lent us his family’s national costumes to take photos.
