BBanlibaoziIf you're arriving in Hakodate on a snowy day, choosing JR Inn is an excellent decision. You can find the hotel right after exiting the JR station! I booked this hotel mainly for its convenience, and it certainly delivered. The self-service breakfast was just okay, and the conveyor belt sushi was also pretty standard. You can definitely tell there's a high volume of guests. The room size is generous by Japanese standards. I didn't get to use the public bath, so I can't comment on that. The price was very reasonable, and I had a great two days in Hakodate.

MM53565****The location is excellent, just a two-minute walk from Hakodate Morning Market and less than 10 minutes on foot from the station. It's also diagonally opposite the Lucky Pierrot restaurant near the station. The facilities are standard Toyoko Inn quality, and the room size is typical. Breakfast is a buffet, featuring local specialties like salted squid, which I personally didn't quite get used to.

2206316****It's right next to the seafood market in front of the station, making it easy to find with a map. The room was larger than usual and surprisingly had a balcony. The bathroom, with separate wet and dry areas, was also surprisingly large, with a bathtub and a large, floor-to-ceiling window. There's a cafe on the first floor, and the hotel offers coupons. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee while gazing at Mount Hakodate.

MM606647****The hotel is conveniently located near Hakodate JR Station, making it easy to reach attractions by bus or tram. They also offer a free shuttle service to Goryokaku and the Red Brick Warehouses. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. The room size was decent, and there's a communal water dispenser, plus you can boil water in your room. The onsen (hot spring) bath is quite unique with its yellowish-brown water, and the outdoor bath is excellent. Another highlight is the second-floor common area, which features information about Hakodate's historical sites. It's a great spot for friends to gather for tea or to relax after a hot spring soak. There's even an outdoor heater. Breakfast offers a good selection of seafood, and despite being busy, it was well-organized.

11560136****Hakodate Kokusai Hotel is an established hotel. While it has been recently renovated, and the lobby and public areas are bright and modern, there's a huge disparity in the condition and age between different parts of the hotel and room types. Rooms in the main building are noticeably newer, whereas those in the West Wing feel quite dated, almost from another era. My visit coincided with a Japanese holiday, so hotel prices had soared. I ended up paying main building rates for a room in the West Wing. While the room was passably clean, a distinct dusty smell lingered in the air. The facilities were outdated and inconvenient to use, and the room itself was quite cramped. Overall, my stay was quite disappointing. If only rooms in the West Wing are available, I would strongly recommend choosing a different hotel.

MM5844****I was very satisfied with this hotel (except for the room being really small and the heating being super hot, haha, but that's a common issue in Japanese hotels). Let me talk about the things worth praising. There's an unlimited supply of coffee, matcha, and milk every day right in the lobby downstairs. Coming back and having a cup was just perfect, incredibly warming on a cold winter day. And the breakfast, wow, it's absolutely top-notch! The breakfast always features fresh catches of the day, and it's truly delightful to be so satisfied first thing in the morning. Paired with their special Meiling coffee, the whole experience was fantastic!

MmaxhooA traditional Japanese-style hot spring. The rooms have tatami mats and the old-fashioned key-operated lock and key system. The service was excellent. We checked in quite late, and the receptionist, an elderly gentleman, provided a detailed explanation of the hotel's facilities and services. He escorted us to our room, opened the door with a key, and explained the room's amenities. Very dedicated. The facilities are quite comprehensive. The hot springs are on the 4th and 7th floors, with men's and women's sessions rotating in the morning and evening. The 4th floor has an indoor sea view, and the 7th floor has an outdoor bath. The location isn't in the heart of Hakodate; it's situated in an area with many hot spring resorts and bathhouses, but there are fewer restaurants nearby. The hotel's own convenience store is on the 1st floor, open until 10 PM, and has a wide selection of items.

GGuest UserWe booked this hotel for a special stay for our Christmas Day abroad and it did not disappoint. The rooms are cozy, spacious and quiet with very comfy beds. We appreciated the entry way with the closet and shoe rack. We also appreciated the shower with great pressure, the large sink counter and the Japanese style toilet. There was also a good amount of toiletries provided. We had Japanese style pajamas, slippers for the room, sandals to go around the hotel in and even slippers specifically for the toilet area. The room has a large TV and you can connect to it with an HDMI cable or screencast but we could not figure out how to screencast. The hotel primarily caters to Japanese so the important stuff was in English but the little things like the remote control and temperature control were not. We booked our stay with the buffet dinner and breakfast and for our stay it seems that all the greatest hits for Japanese cuisine were out. For dinner they had a steak grilling station, a BBQ scallop station, a sushi chef, crab dumplings and all kinds of accompaniments. For the dessert they had an array of tasty sweets but we enjoyed the macarons and Hokkaido ice cream the most. The breakfast was equally fantastic with a miso soup station, all kinds of sashimi, black pork dumplings, fried chicken and all kinds of crowd pleasers. There is a juice station and a coffee machine that makes all kinds of drinks so we were very pleased with the meals. We appreciated the plates and small dishes that allowed for small portions so we could pretty much try everything. Some items at the buffet did run out and these were specifically the small dishes - it is worth going early for breakfast and dinner because some items are not replenished and I found quite a few of these very delicious! There isn't much around the hotel other than a 7-11 and a small botanical garden across the bridge but it is definitely a hotel meant to stay in and enjoy. We went to the onsen at night and in the morning and really enjoyed the outdoor bath which was sea facing. At night you could hear the waves and see the stars and during the day you could enjoy the beach and mountain view. The onsen baths have a variety of temperature pools and saunas and good bath products. There is a machine that dispenses a few pop flavours, cold tea and mineral water in the change room. There was a variety of self care products available in the change rooms as well like toothbrushes and razors. Our room was very cozy after our bath and we found that the temperature for the hotel was possibly centrally controlled and not adjustable according to Google translation. It was set at a balmy 24 but we did figure out how to turn it off and got a comfortable night's rest. I wasn't a big fan of the hard toothbrushes that were provided mainly because the toothbrush used a coating rather than toothpaste which makes them truly single use. The hotel offers quite a few amenities outside of the onsen area but the onsen was the highlight for us. They have a lounge area with lots of seats looking out to the sea near the front desk, a separate restaurant from the buffet restaurant, a souvenir shop that sells drinks too and luggage storage. We aren't sure if there are multiple floors with laundry machines but the one laundry room we did find only had one machine so this might not be a hotel to do your laundry at. The hotel is easily accessible from both the train station and airport. From the train station you can take a bus or the tram which would take about 30 minutes and from the airport there are some dedicated busses that will take about 15 minutes. The bus station and tram station closest to the hotel is Yunokawa Onsen. This was a great stay for us and we felt one night here was perfect. There is a lot to see in Hakodate and had we stayed longer we would have chosen a more economical option but this truly was a special treat for us.

__WeChat236340****This hotel is absolutely perfect! I was a bit hesitant at first because it's a walk from the JR station, unlike JR Inn hotels that are right outside the exit. But I definitely made the right choice. It has a kitchen, and the cabinets are stocked with all sorts of pots and utensils. Just grab a pot and some beef from the supermarket, and you can make sukiyaki or yakiniku – it's just amazing!

エゾシカ伝道師The staff at the inn were warm and moderate, and I was very comfortable. While there were many non-smoking rooms, the companion who was a smoker was very happy. In addition, the correspondence of the odor remaining in the room is also firm, and I think it can be comfortable. It's a hot spring, but you can get the power of the source. It is a hot spring of great satisfaction! I want to enter again ♪
